Chapter 4 Betrayed

Bella's POV

"Hmm." I winced. I froze, goosebumps covered my skin. My heart stopped for some seconds and my ear stood.

"Someone's there."

Immediately, I hid myself more. They knew I was there. I just prayed they just forgot about me and went away. They must be rogues, and maybe they must have had an issue with Luka, and now they're planning to eliminate him.

I need to warn him. But how am I gonna do that? I'm also on the run, and his life is in danger, too. How do I do this shit?

I waited for them to come out from their hiding place, they scanned around for me, their eyes shining like bright lights as they scattered the whole place in search of me. Lucky for me, they did not find me.

"Maybe it was just a rat."

"It had better be."

They left with a huff and headed away to the main road leading to Luka's house. They must be headed there right now.

Fuck!!!!!

I need to warn him. Damn it.

Well, I'll take the risk. It's worth it. I'll warn him, and maybe he could hide me for tonight and tomorrow, I'll be able to think of the next thing to do.

The moon spread its warm glow and illuminated the area. It felt like the spirit of the man I killed was hunting me. He just made me vulnerable and I knew this was a huge risk.

My heart pounded inside my chest and I was pale.

My legs stiffened and it was difficult to even move them. They felt like heavy logs of wood that tied me down, but irrespective of this, I pressed on. I had to save his life and also save mine in the process.

"May the moon goddess guide me," I muttered to myself.

I took a different route, one much shorter than the main road. Although it was bushy, it was the best idea for this situation.

The eerie sounds of the owls and wolves hooting and howling in the distance sent cold shivers running down my spine. I can't take this anymore. I ran with strength and energy, my heart racing inside my chest.

The silence of the night filled me and clouded my mind with fear. The moon mocked me with a sarcastic smile and the rustling of the leaves followed beneath my feet.

The disturbance of the forest only added more fright to me. Any sound I heard made my heart skip a beat. Only for me to later realize it was the sound of my footsteps. Even with this discovery, my head remained above my shoulder, constantly scanning for any trace of danger.

Soon, I could see Luka's house. It was just a stone's throw now.

I rested for a while, letting out my heavy breath and panting heavily.

Finally, it was all coming to an end, at least just for a while.

I advanced slowly to the building and found the door unlocked. This was very unusual, and I gulped in some saliva, and my chest tightened.

I just hope they've not gotten to him yet.

I don't know if I should go in or hide myself. I can't fight. I'm just a good-for-nothing weak Omega. I feel a burning fire in me, pushing me to go in, but I still don't trust my guts.

Suddenly, my legs were raised and the door creaked open. I was no longer in control of my body and it just acted on impulse. It felt like I was controlled and I moved reluctantly and went upstairs, only to find the worst, something I had never imagined.

Blood!!!

I pushed the door open immediately and found him on top of Chloe, moaning painfully as he fucked hard.

My mouth was agape in shock, and my eyes widened in disbelief. My cheek reddened and I froze at the door, unable to speak a word. The room was dark but I could still recognize her voice. I knew that little voice of hers and it angered my soul.

My core was broken and my soul shattered.

Who could have imagined? Chloe, my best friend fucking my boyfriend, Luka.

They were too engrossed in pleasure and did not notice my presence.

I broke down in tears and dropped to the ground.

"Luka!" I screamed, my voice like pieces of broken glass. "How could you!?" I cried.

They were stunned and stopped like frozen ice balls. Shock was written all over their faces and the weight of betrayal filled the room.

Chloe rushed to me, trying to explain, but I shoved her hand away from me.

"Please Bella, let me explain." She begged.

"Fuck you! Fuck both of you! Fuck y'all!" I screamed and left.

Luka did not even bother to go after me. It was as if he wanted me to know he did not need me again. After all, what use was I to him?

I hurried down the stairs in tears and wailed painfully.

I came here to find succor and also help him from the danger that was just around the corner, and now, I'm served with a hot plate of betrayal on a golden platter.

Why do I have to see all these? What have I done so wrong to deserve this shit?

I left the house and ran into the woods like a dog let loose, sobbing heavily, and forgot that I was in danger too.

I never knew that I just walked right into their trap. Words must have spread and the Betas were already in search of me. I know they might have been given orders to kill me on sight. Funny enough, I had forgotten about it and was sulking in the pain of betrayal from my loving boyfriend and best friend.

I came to save his life and now, I get this.

"Moon goddess..."

I did not even finish it when my legs were swooped off the ground.

I knew it, this was it. I'm doomed.

"Please don't kill me!" I cried.

My voice fell on deaf ears and I was dragged away to the Alpha. Death was just waiting right there for me.
