Chapter 3 3

RILEY'S POV

"Follow this way, please," I walked down the stairs and went outside to see the four-wheeled vehicle that I was knocked off.

"She is beautiful," a lot of whispering was happening, and I let out a fake smile.

"Get in," Aaron said.

"What is this?" I asked him. He wanted to burst out laughing but kept it in.

"That's a car, please get in," he opened the door and signaled. I entered the car and sat down.

"You don't have to be scared," Aaron shut the door, which staggered me, and suddenly a weird sound occurred, and the car moved. We were moving very fast, and I could see a lot of things that I couldn't even understand.

Suddenly, we entered a big estate, looking royal on top of it, with a sign that read "Alpha Zaid Palace." We drove into the big compound, and finally, the car came to a halt.

The door was opened, "Step out," the man ordered, which I did.

I looked around to see how massive the building was. "Where is Aaron?" I asked the man.

"He is on a business trip," he replied.

"So quick," I whispered.

"Please allow me to direct you," I nodded and followed him.

"Alpha Zaid, a lady from Aaron whom you seek to meet has arrived," he uttered behind the door.

A voice sounded, "Let her in," and the door was opened by some guards. Suddenly, I felt fire burning in me as I stepped in, and the door was shut.

My heart was beating fast, "my mate," my wolf uttered. There was light shining above the ceiling, and I could see Alpha Zaid on his magnificent throne, not wooden but an iron throne.

I walked forward with my heart beating fast with every step I took. Suddenly, he stood up from his throne and walked towards me.

"Do you know how long you have been yearning?" he asked.

"Long," I repeated the words as I stood still.

"Did you know I'm your mate?" I asked him curiously.

He smirked, walking towards me. "Of course, I do," he said as he reached his hands towards my hair, stroking it. "How do you feel being here?" he asked me, but the fire burning inside me couldn't let me speak.

"Can you just claim me so I can't feel this unnecessary heat burning inside me?" I asked him. He reached my cheek and smiled.

"You are my mate," he uttered, and suddenly the heat in me reduced a bit. It remained the circumcision to make me free. I couldn't believe fate had a lot in store for me.

I would become the Luna to the mightiest pack. I smiled a bit, knowing that my revenge would be sweet on the Midnight Pack.

"When will you claim me?" I asked him.

"I can't just claim a stranger whom I don't know. The first question is, who are you?" he said, removing his hands from my cheek and walking behind me. I followed him.

"I want you to trust me. I'm not a spy, neither am I an imposter. I found myself here by mistake," I said, trying to convince him.

"I think fate has something installed for me and you," he turned and laughed. "No such thing as fate," he pressed a button, creating a passage. I quickly hurried and followed him.

With my eyes in amazement, I saw a lot of books stored in the library. "I'm Riley, daughter of Steven, the beta to the Midnight Pack. My father was accused of leaking out information to the Blue Moon Pack, which he never did."

"Hmmm," he hummed.

I placed my hand on my throat. "I swear my father never did anything like that."

"Go on," he replied without emotion.

"Scarlet, daughter of the Alpha to the Blue Moon Pack, was the spy who made false accusations against my dad," I said, trying to catch up with his walking.

"After being caught, they killed him right in front of me, calling him names," I said, sniffing back tears.

"No crying in front of an Alpha," he stated.

"Sorry."

"Go on," I continued. "Thereafter, my mate Noah rejected me, as he was having an affair before the false allegations. He used that as an opportunity to break bonds with me." At this time, my mind was heavy, and I couldn't say anything.

I stood still and started reoccurring the ugly incident that happened. "I never asked you to stop talking."

I swallowed my spit and continued. "I tried to get revenge, and my people betrayed me. I was caught by Alpha Charles's men, leading me into this pack." I let out a deep breath.

"Hmmm, follow me," he uttered, and I did instantly. He went to the shelf to bring out things.

"Here are things you need to learn about this pack and all."

"Does it contain civilization?" I asked him.

"It does. Read it and learn. Only then will I accept you publicly as my mate," he walked away, and suddenly said.

"Lastly, you will remain in the palace and not at Aaron's place again. No one must find out you are my mate until you are fully educated." Finally, he walked out, and I followed him.

We got back into the palace when the door opened. "Your Highness, we have some information from the packs," they uttered, bowing their heads.

"Tell them I will join them shortly," he turned back and looked at me.

"Are you preparing for a war?" I asked him. He gazed at me.

"Learn first," he told me and walked out of the palace. I followed him in a hurry.

"Where am I supposed to stay?" I asked him.

"The maid will fix that up for you, and respect me as your Alpha," he told me and walked away. I turned my back, seeing a maid smiling at me.

"Hello!"

"Hi, follow me," she ordered with a smile, which I did. We reached the staircase.

"I want you to know that the Shadow Kingdom is more like the human world. You don't use your power unnecessarily unless there is a war or a need to," she kept stating the rules while climbing the stairs.

"Did you understand?" she asked me, and I nodded profusely.

"Are you an Omega?" she asked me, and that hit me like a bullet to my chest.
