Chapter 6 The Hidden Truth

*_Chapter Six: The_ Hidden Truth*

Aria's curiosity about Kael's life continued to grow. Despite her blind feelings for him. sometimes, She couldn't help but wonder what lay beneath his polished exterior. As they spent more time together, Aria began to notice subtle inconsistencies in Kael's stories, some changes, and even strange occurances.

One evening, as they strolled through the city, Aria noticed Kael receive a mysterious phone call.

On gazing at his phone screen, His demeanor changed instantly, and he excused himself to take the call.

Aria watched as he walked away, his eyes scanning the surroundings with a mixture of caution and concern.

"Who was that?" Aria asked, her curiosity evident, when Kael returned.

"Just a business associate," Kael replied nonchalantly, his smile not quite reaching his eyes, and Aria knew he was trying to brush the topic off

"Nothing to worry about." Kael assured, plastering a fake smile.

Aria nodded, but her mind was racing with questions. Who was Kael really?

What was he involved in?

And why did she feel like she was getting tangled in a web of secrets and mess?

Rather than a normal relationship?

As the days passed, Aria's feelings for Kael only strangely deepened, despite her doubts and concerns.

She found herself drawn to his charismatic personality and his passion for life. But she couldn't always shake off the feeling that there was more to Kael's story than he was letting on.

One night, as they sat in Kael's living room, Aria decided to confront him about her doubts.

After all, they were official and shouldn't keep secrets right?

"Kael, can I ask you something?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Of course, Aria," Kael replied, his eyes locked onto hers.

"What is it?" Kael asked, grabbing her hands, his voice soft and tender, that Aria felt her heart melt. She wanted to be in the comfort of the moment, wanted to hold him tight to her, lay in his arms, and not complain, just enjoying the comfiness. But She also knew somethings couldn't just always be brushed off.

"I feel like there's something you're not telling me," Aria swallowed hard, finally speaking up, her heart pounding in her chest. "Something important. Am I right?"

Kael's expression changed, and for a moment, Aria saw a glimmer of uncertainty and a glint of something She couldn't quite place in his eyes. "Aria, I...," he began, but then he stopped, as if unsure of how to proceed.

"Tell me the truth," Aria urged, suddenly gaining courage, her voice filled with emotion. "Whatever it is, I want to know."

Her tone was firm, and resolute.

Kael took a deep breath, and his eyes seemed to bore into hers. "Aria, my life is not as simple as it seems," he began, his voice low and serious. "There are things about me that you don't know, things that could change everything."

Aria's heart skipped a beat as she processed Kael's words. She felt a sense of trepidation coming on, but she also felt a sense of determination. She was ready to face whatever truth lay ahead, no matter how difficult it might be.

Which She had a strong feeling that things might not just be the same.

"What do you mean?" Aria asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kael hesitated, as if unsure of how to reveal the truth. But then, he began to speak, his words spilling out like a dam breaking. "Aria, I'm involved in some things that are beyond my control," he said, his voice filled with a sense of resignation, as he heaved a sigh

"Things that could put you in danger."

Aria's eyes widened as she listened to Kael's words. She felt a sense of fear, and her voice shook.

" What is it?"

Kael's grip on her hand seemed to tighten, his body going instantly rigid.

As Kael spoke, Aria world began to shift.

As he continued speaking, Aria's mind became a jumbled mess.

What other secrets was this her mysterious boyfriend guy hiding?

"How dare you fool me all this time Kael?"

Aria's voice came louder than She expected, nearly shrill, as She forced her hand away.

"...I've known you for quite a while, and you're perfect for it.

Your med reports, your computer skills, mental capacity. Everything matches!"

Kael confessed, swallowing hard, his Adam apple dipping in and out, red eyes fixed on her.

"Really?" Aria cried out.

"Really?...So all these?

This relationship?

Everything was all a lie?

My wishful thinking?"

Aria blurted out, almost crying, rising to her feet, her forehead sweaty.
