Chapter 2 The Night Unfold

The restaurant was a quaint little place, with dim lighting and soft music playing in the background. Aria felt a sense of intimacy wash over her as she sat down across from Kael, west life music in the background, but She tried to wave it off.

They ordered their food, and as they waited for it to arrive, they chatted easily about everything from their jobs to their hobbies.

Aria was surprised by how much she enjoyed Kael's company. He was charming and witty, with a quick sense of humor that had her laughing, almost knocking her off her feet. But still again, Aria could perceive that he seemed to be holding something back, never giving into much details, and always navigating topics.

As they ate, Kael asked her questions about her life, about her passions and her dreams.

Relaxed, Aria found herself opening up to him in a way that she hadn't even expected nor intended to.

She told him about her love of design, and her desire to start her own business one day.

Kael listened intently, his eyes locked onto hers.

She had to say, he really was a great listener.

Never interrupting, and waiting for her to finish the gist, before giving his opinions.

Aria felt a sense of connection that she couldn't quite explain. It was as if they had known each other for years, not just a few hours.

As the night wore on, Aria found herself feeling more and more comfortable around Kael.

She laughed and joked with him, feeling a sense of ease that she hadn't experienced in a long time.

*** *** ***. ***.

The experience of having someone around was fun, everything thrilling.

But as the check arrived, Kael's expression turned serious.

Glancing at his digital wrist watch, his usually calm demeanor wore a little worry.

"There's something I want to tell you," he said, his voice low, husky, and mysterious.

Aria's heart skipped a beat as she leaned in, her curiosity piqued. "What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kael hesitated, looking around the restaurant as if he was worried about being overheard. "I'm working on a project," he said finally.

"A project that requires a certain level of discretion."

Aria's curiosity was truly piqued. "What kind of project?" she asked, her voice filled with intrigue.

Kael smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Let's just say it's a project that requires a certain level of creativity and outside-the-box thinking," he replied, his serious face giving a small smile.

Aria's mind was racing with possibilities. What could Kael be working on? And why was he being so secretive about it?

As they left the restaurant, Aria felt a sense of anticipation building inside her. She had no idea what the night had in store, but she was ready to find out.

The cool night air hit her like a slap in the face, and Aria felt a shiver run down her spine. Kael noticed and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close.

"Are you cold?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

Aria nodded, feeling a sense of warmth spread through her body. She didn't know what was happening between them, She barely knew this guy, but he brought a sense of familiarity and warmth to her.

As they walked through the quiet streets, Aria felt a sense of attraction with Kael that she couldn't quite explain. It was as if they were meant to be together, like they had been brought together by fate.

The city seemed to come alive around them, the sounds of the night growing louder and the shadows deepening.

Gazing up, the stars seemed shiny and filled the sky, creating a fantastic ambience.

The night was full of surprises, and Aria was ready to face whatever came next. But as she looked at Kael, she couldn't help but wonder what secrets he was hiding, and what lay ahead for them, or how fate even managed to bring them close.

"Let's take a walk," Kael said, his voice low and inviting.

He seemed to always have everything under control, as if he was more like giving a statement than seeking opinion. Maybe that was just his personality.

Commanding, yet not controlling.

Cheerful, enticing but not weak nor fragile.

Aria nodded, feeling a sense of anticipation build inside her. She knew, felt like this was just the beginning of something, a journey, and she was eager to see what the future held.

She wasn't even sure herself why she was attracted to Kael in the first place.

Was this the phycological effect of " single and searching" playing on her emotion?

Aria had never had a boyfriend, though there was just that one time in highschool.

Not like she didn't have suitors, but she just didn't seem to want to take liking to any of them.

She wanted to enjoy her single, not heart break, workaholic life.

Maybe it was just the setting of their meeting that got Aria all bolted up, but Kael was different.

And She was taking a liking to him, Aria just noticed, glancing at the handsome gentleman beside her, her heart racing steadily.

As they walked, the city seemed to stretch out before them like a canvas waiting to be explored. Aria felt a sense of freedom and excitement, and she knew that she was ready to take on whatever the night had in store.

As they walked farther, Aria engaged Kael in idle chatters, making the walk down more amiable.

Time stretched on, and darkness seemed to close in around them, the surrounding, less rowdy, and eerly quite.

Aria felt a sense of intimacy with Kael that she couldn't quite explain. It was as if they were alone in the world, with no one else around.

But as they turned a corner, Aria noticed a figure watching them from across the street. He was tall and imposing, with a stern expression on his face, hands in pockets.

"Who's that?" Aria asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kael followed her gaze, and his expression turned serious. "That's a friend of mine," he said. "Someone I've been working with on my project."

Aria's curiosity was piqued. "What's his name?" she asked.

Kael hesitated, looking around nervously. "His name is Marcus," he replied finally. "And he's not someone you want to mess with."

Aria's heart skipped a beat as she looked at Marcus again. " So why then is he here?" She asked again, her voice uneasy, face showing signs of uncertainty.

There was something about him that seemed intimidating, something that made her feel uneasy.

As they continued walking, Aria couldn't shake the feeling that something just wasn't right.
