Amy felt her throat tighten at suddenly being discovered, and she glanced around nervously. Was he going to expose her now?
"Do not worry, I won't expose you." He said, a smirk coming to marry his face and Amy let out the breath in which she had been holding.
"Because I'm also a werewolf." He completed, shrugging his shoulder and Amy nodded in understanding.
"Do you not speak so much?" Damon asked abruptly, and Amy felt her cheeks burn. She indeed knew how to speak, she had just been traumatized by he incidents that had unfold in her life in the past days.
"Amy!" Nayla's voice sounded from behind them, and Amy turned, her gaze landing onto her friend whom looked like she had ran for days, her breath coming out quick.
"Had you ran?" Amy asked, her brow raising questioningly to stare at Nayla who smiled sheepishly.
"I was looking for you, what happened?" Nayla asked, her gaze landing onto Amy's torn blouse that a black coat had been draped over.
"Oh, never mind it." Amy replied, a slight smile coming to rest on her face.
"We meet again, single miss..." Damon's came from Amy's side, and Nayla turned, her eyes growing wide.
"You...How do you know him, Amy?" She asked, her once shocked expression turning into a glare as she directed it at Damon.
"Oh, he was the one who helped me." Stated Amy, not noticing the temperature that had fallen.
"You look just as grumpy as earlier. It makes me wonder if your period just came today." Damon said, chuckling as if amused by Nayla's expression.
"Thank you for helping her, but we'll be leaving now." Stated Nayla as she tugged on Amy's had for them to leave.
"What's the rush. I'm guessing you two have not eaten yet, so why not go out for a meal before you head home?" Damon asked, his earlier smile not leaving his face.
"We're not hungry right now." Nayla was quick to turn down the offer as she did not like this stranger, but Amy's stomach grumbled, betraying Nayla's words and the latter blushed furiously.
The trio headed to a restaurant where they had dinner, Nayla's glaring at Damon throughout.
Once they were done, Damon bid the two women good bye, and they headed back to the apartment where Zenith had already retired to her room.
Walking through the narrow hallway, Amy made her way towards her room. Pushing the door open, she walked in. She leaned back on the door with her eyes closed, taking in a deep breath. Finally putting her thoughts together, she walked to the bathroom where she peeled her clothes off her body, sinking her body into the bath that she had prepared for herself.
Leaning her head back, the sweet scent of lavender hit her nostrils, making her relax.
For what seemed like an hour she remained in the bath. When she was done, she wrapped herself up an a bathrobe, retiring to the room. She dried her hair and changed into some loose clothes. She sunk onto the bed, her eyes resting onto the ceiling as her thoughts wandered.
Seconds passed, and then minutes, but sleep was far away from her.
"Are you asleep?" She mind linked her wolf but it had kept mute. It had probably fallen asleep, she thought as she got no response. Heaving a deep sigh, she got out of the bed, heading to the kitchen where she poured herself some milk.
"Having trouble sleeping?" Nayla's voice came, and her eyes moved to rest to rest on the latter who stood at the door mouth.
"Mhmm." She replied, nodding her head as she brought the glass of milk to her mouth, taking a sip.
Nayla's feet thud the floor as she made her way towards her friend.
"Thank you for letting I and Zenith stay here, Nayla. I promise as soon as I get a job, we'll move out." Said Amy as she stared great fully at Nayla. If it weren't for her, who knew what would have become of she and Zenith. They would have been on the streets by now. She and Zenith had mindlessly left the Manaras' mansion as they had been cast out, not having a plan until they bumped into Nayla who offered to help.
"Don't think too much about it, Amy. I also wouldn't be staying in the human realm so much since I'll return to Mockaria from time to time. Plus, there's another apartment that had been gifted to me." Said Nayla.
Amy stared at her friend, wondering how she got to know so much people to be able to gift her a whole apartment. She wanted to ask about it, but refrained.
"Perhaps you would get another mate?" Nayla said, a smile coming to rest on her lips, and Amy stared at her thoughtfully.
"Probably." She stated as she took a sip from the glass of milk, her throat bulbing up and down in the process.
"Did you..."
"I didn't. I do not know how it happened, but I believe I had been framed." Stated Amy as she deadpanned, answering her friend's uncompleted question.
Silence soon enveloped them, as neither of them had anything to say.
The two women stayed a while longer in the kitchen, Amy sipping from her glass of milk till the very last drop.
Feeling her eyes get heavy, she retired to her room where her head hit the pillow and she drifted off to sleep.
...
The morning came, and the sound of birds chirping in the distance pierced through Amy's ears. Groaning, she tossed and turning on the bed, trying to get away from the sun that hit her face. Feeling frustrated, her eyes fluttered open.
"Good morning." She greeted her wolf who snorted in her head, but she did not mind.
Getting off the bed, her dainty feet landed onto the wooden floor.
She dragged herself towards the bathroom where she took a bath that smelled of lavender.
Retiring to her room, she tried her hair, tying up in a messy bun.
She got dressed in a pair of baggy jeans and oversized T-shirt.
Turning around to leave the room, her eyes grew wide at the sight before her.
It stood, it's bright blue eyes staring deeply at her, and It's white fur glittered in the sunlight that shone from the window.
