Chapter 2 2

Zenith stared in awe at the sight in front of her. The tall tower where a bell had rang, the sound of cars honking and people walking about. Never had she seen such things. was a huge city, but it had nothing like the technology in this city.

"How do you know this place, Sister Amy?" She asked, her eyes twinkling as she continued to take in the view of the city.

"I had been here before." Amy stated, her face deadpan.

"You too, Nayla?" She asked again, her eyes twinkling in mirth as she continued to stare at the bustling city.

"Mhmm." Hummed Nayla as she nodded.

Soon, the three women with one whom was younger had bored a taxi.

Amy stared outside the window at the scenery of the city as the car continued to move.

Her thoughts wandered to Scilla and her heart tugged. She never would have imagined that she would one day get rejected by her mate.

"Hmph!" Harrumphed her wolf in her head as her eyes flickered back and forth between brown and gold.

"It was never my fault." Amy stated in her head, her eyes devoid of the warmth that usually lurked in them.

"Of course it wasn't, but you should have been more careful." Her wolf scolded and Amy had the urge to shut it up but in the end, she had kept mute.

The two woman whom had in the same space as Amy noticed the air that had turned hostile. Their pitiful gazes landed onto the woman whose eyes were focused outside the window.

The car soon came to a stop in front of an apartment, the three young women getting out.

"Wow...this is fancy." Zenith voiced out as soon as they entered, her eyes scanning the apartment which was quite different from the houses back in Mockaria.

"You both will live here." Nayla said, tossing her handbag onto a nearby couch while a smile inched it's way up her face. She felt glad to have acquired the apartment while she was away from Mockaria. Who knew it would come in handy.

Back in the alpha's mansion in Mockaria kingdom, Scilla felt his blood boil as he was unable to find Amy or her sister. He had ordered the guards to find their whereabouts, but they had come back with no news which in turn fuels his anger and desperation.

Of course, he had rejected Amy, but somewhere in his heart he still longed for her, and this feeling made him burn in seething anger.

"She left? then I do not care." Scilla muttered to himself as he stared outside the window of his chamber, down at the grounds of the mansion.

The knock on the door pierced through his ears, but he had not bothered to glance at at it.

Soon, the door creaked open, the mother queen walking in.

"Scilla." She called out, her feet clicking the marble floor as she walked towards him.

"What do you want, mother?" Scilla asked, not glancing behind him where the mother queen had settled.

"I thought to come check on you." Came her reply as she stared at her son's back.

"I don't need anyone to baby sit me." Stated Scilla dryly as he continued to stare outside the window.

"There's a banquet you had been invited to, lest you forgot."

Seconds passed, and then minutes, but Scilla had not said a word.

"She's gone, Scilla." The mother queen said, the hostility in her voice evident. She had never liked the girl since the very beginning.

"She probably knew what was best for her, and that's why she left."

Turning around, she left, her feet clicking the floor.

"I expect you'll be there at the banquet?" She said, halting once she was about to pull the door open, her eyes moving to rest on Scilla again.

"Sure."

Pulling the door open, she had left, closing the door behind her.

As she made her way through the hallway, her thoughts wandered to Amy where she snorted. It was best she was gone, the mother queen thought as she made her was towards her chamber.

Meanwhile, back in the human city, Nayla had urged Amy to get dressed as they were headed for the bar.

"Why can't I come too?" Zenith asked as she pouted.

"You're not an adult yet. This trip is only for adults, Zen." Nayla stated as her eyes moved to Amy who lazily got dressed.

"But I'll be next yea!" Zenith spat.

"Next year you say, next year."

"Fine." Came her short reply as her eyes moved to rest on her eldest sister again.

Tying her hair up into a bun, Amy had gotten dressed in some skinny jeans and an off shoulder blouse.

The two young women headed for the bar where as Zenith had been left home alone where she watched a movie as she sulked.

"What would you like, ma'am?" Now the bartender asked, a perfect smile casted on his face, his pearly white teeth in display.

"American brandy." Stated Nayla, returning the smile while Amy's eyes scanned the place lazily. She had not said a word.

"Here." Nayla's voice came, jolting Amy from her reverie, and she turned to meet the glass that had been placed in front of her.

Picking it up, she brought it to her lips, taking a sip where she licked it's remnant that had caught onto the side of her lips.

"Will you be fine here?" Nayla asked, and Amy turned, confusion marrying her face as she stared at her friend.

"I have to use the rest room."

Ah, right...Amy thought, and she nodded.

She watched Nayla's back as it disappeared into the distance, mingling with the crowd.

"Is it always this crowdy here?" Amy asked, her question directed at the bartender who blinked a couple of times by her abruptly speaking. He had thought she was mute.

"Ah, yes." Came his reply as he smiled.

Her nose suddenly tingled as the the scent if blood hit her nostrils.

Turning back to the bartender, her eyes zeroed onto the cut in his finger where the blood dripped.

"So hungry." She heard her wolf say, and her eyes momentarily widened.

Her eyes flickered between brown and gold as her wolf tried to take over.

"No!"
