Chapter 5 Priorities To Focus

After dinner, Adrian told Simon that he will be staying at the hotel for now, but Simon insisted to stay at his house. He reminded Adrian about Bella's bet with him. After a while, Adrian reluctantly agreed and start following Simon into his car.

As Simon and Adrian arrived, they leave the car and enter Simon's mansion, with his butler greeting them.

"Good evening, Young Master. Mr. Wilkins, I assume that you will be staying for the night?" Robert asked.

"He will, Robert. Can you prepare the room that he will be using? No need to make it extravagant." Simon says.

"I understand, Young Master." Robert proceeds to instruct a few servants and they start to meticulously prepare a room for Adrian.

Adrian followed Simon into his study, revealing an organized and clean office that made him shocked ever since he entered the mansion and the way he instructed their butler.

"Seems like I'm not the only one who changed. You're serious about taking over your family business this time?" Adrian subtly teases Simon.

Simon just smiled. "Well, I realized that I can't be immature all the time, especially when my father's going to retire sooner than I expected. His health gotten worse for the past six months."

Adrian knew about Simon's father's illness due to stress and overexerting himself. "Let me know if you're going to visit him. I want to see him. He's like an uncle to me."

Simon nods. "I will, and thanks."

"No problem. You're my best friend after all."

After exchanging a few more words, Robert knocks on the door and Simon calls him in.

"Young Master. The room has been prepared for Mr. Wilkins."

"Thank you. Lead Adrian to the room and get some rest after, Robert."

Simon nods Adrian who's standing up and thanks Simon again before following Robert outside of the study, going towards the prepared room.

After leading to the room, Adrian enters. He sees the room filled with simplicity. There are some luxury, but not overbearing. He then turns around and thanked him before Robert slightly bows his head and closes the door, leaving Adrian behind.

As Adrian lies down on the bed, with exhaustion finally catching up to him, he remembered his encounter with Bella at the restaurant. He didn't expect to meet her so soon after landing back to the city from US where he did his training there for 3 years, making a name for himself with his codename. He couldn't help but remember Riku, whom he had enjoyed her company during those joint trainings and even in some other occassions like eating and just walking. Adrian doesn't look for another love at the moment, partly due to still being married to Bella, but mainly because he wanted to focus on his family first after he finally pursued his dreams.

As Adrian continued to look back at the memories, he slowly drifting to sleep with his eyes fluttering closed.

The next day, Adrian wakes up feeling refresh and gets up from the bed before entering the bathroom. As he takes a look at the mirror, he's still feeling amazed about how much he had changed. From being dull and old husband to being a dominant and good-looking guy, with his body being toned and muscular because of his military trainings.

After washing up, Adrian goes downstairs, only to see Robert and being informed by him that Simon already left the mansion to attend some banquets, making his own connections for the takeover of his family's business.

Adrian leaves the mansion and pulled out his phone. He had a few messages from his team back in the US, but he ignored them for the moment. He needed to get his own affairs in order before he could fully focus on his other life.
