How could Laura marry Aslan if he were similar to Darrel?
"Why is so sure that I will get pregnant?" Laura asked innocently.
Aslan brought his lips to Laura's ear and whispered something to her.
"I'm coming out a little inside."
Laura's cheeks reddened; she pushed Aslan away and ran inside the convenience store. Laura was very embarrassed by the man's words. Aslan was confused by Laura's strange behavior. Did he say something wrong?
Laura returned to arranging the soap on the shelf; Evelin, who was still curious, quickly approached Laura.
"What's your relationship?" Evelin asked suspiciously.
"Nothing, he just told me to stay away from Darrel. I've already complied and dumped Darrel," Laura replied.
Evelin didn't believe her because the look in Aslan's eyes as he stared at Laura was different. Evelin still folded her arms across her chest and looked at Laura.
"Okay, fine. I believe you, and obviously, if you're hiding from me, then you're not a friend," Evelin said.
Friend? I don't believe in friends. Friends stab me in the back. Laura thought.
Laura continued working into the night, and she had to look after the convenience store alone until 10 p.m. She kept thinking about Darrel and how disappointed he was.
When the door of the convenience store opened, a woman came in. She was very pretty, with blonde hair. Her body was also sexy, and she was wearing 7cm high heels. She took a strawberry-flavored safety and some cola drinks and paid at the cash register.
Laura signed with the device, and the amount the beautiful woman had to pay was indicated.
"$22, miss," Laura said.
She paid and a moment later got a call from someone.
"Yes, baby, I'm coming. I miss you too, Darrel," said the woman on the phone.
Laura's heart jumped when she heard the name. She was still positive it was another man with the same name as the Darrel she knew.
"Miss, here's your change," Laura said.
"Take it!" the woman replied.
Laura was very grateful to be tipped by kind people. She was still watching the woman walk out of the convenience store, amazed by her beauty.
Laura is no less beautiful, but she lacks maintenance. How can she pay for treatment? It's hard to pay for daily living expenses.
As night fell, Laura continued to serve the customers well. The convenience store was on the side of the road, so many customers came and asked for her phone number, but Laura didn't want to give it to them.
Usually, at this hour, Darrel would come over to make small talk and buy some snacks, but that wouldn't happen tonight. Darrel already hated her and was disgusted with her.
"Congratulations...." Laura stopped to greet the incoming customers.
Again, Aslan came in with someone in a neat suit. Laura ignored him and chose to serve the other customers.
"Laura, can we talk for a minute?" asked Aslan at the register.
"Aslan saw that I was serving the customers. Besides, it's late. I don't want to argue."
Aslan waited until the customer came out, and 15 minutes later, Aslan asked for a minute to talk. He had brought a lawyer with him to worry about all this. Laura was shocked. She didn't want to take it to the law, and she didn't want the hassle. She just wanted to focus on finishing her contract and leaving town.
"Please! I'll get into more trouble if Uncle is like this."
Laura started crying, and a few customers approached her. Laura told them that Aslan kept bothering her. Aslan tried to explain to the visitors, but Laura's sobs grew louder. The visitors chased Aslan and the lawyer away, telling them not to disturb Laura. Sure enough, Aslan lost to the crowd, and Laura gazed at him from inside with a mocking look.
"Hopefully, he won't return again," Laura thought.
A few hours later.
Laura had to close the store. She did it alone and didn't forget to lock it.
The cold air pierced her body, today, she hadn't even brought a jacket.
"Laura, I'll take you home."
Laura turned around, and it was Aslan. That man wouldn't stop coming to her. Of course, it made Laura uncomfortable because Aslan's face resembled Darrel's so much.
"Laura, don't refuse!"
Ultimately, Laura agreed to let Aslan drive her home because she couldn't stand the cold night. Aslan drove slowly, deliberately prolonging the time so they wouldn't arrive quickly.
Inside the car, Laura felt uncomfortable sitting next to Aslan. She kept looking away whenever Aslan glanced at her.
"Are you that disgusted with me?" Aslan asked while driving.
"Your face looks so much like Darrel's," Laura replied.
"Of course, he's my son. Do you love him that much?"
Laura nodded. "I love him very much."
Aslan exhaled sharply, wondering how things had turned out this way. He had indirectly caused the two lovers to separate.
At the same time, a familiar sound of a vehicle passed by. Yes, it was Darrel's motorcycle.
Laura saw Darrel with a woman on the back of his bike. They looked perfect together, and the woman's chest was softly pressed against Darrel's back.
"Wait, isn't that Darrel? But Darrel didn't take his bike when he left the house," Aslan said.
"Aslan, let's follow them," Laura urged.
Aslan refused. "No, that's not Darrel. His motorcycle is still at home."
"Follow them, Aslan!" Laura screamed, already feeling frustrated.
Aslan followed the motorcycle. Laura was convinced it was Darrel. She remembered his body shape as clearly as possible, especially since they had been in a relationship for a year. After 15 minutes of following them, the motorcycle stopped in front of a hotel. Aslan also parked the car not far from there.
The man on the motorcycle took off his helmet; sure enough, it was Darrel. The woman riding with him turned out to be one of the customers at the minimarket earlier.
They entered the hotel, and Laura wanted to get out of the car, but Aslan stopped her.
"Where are you going? Let's go home. Darrel is no longer your boyfriend," Aslan said.
"Let go of me, Aslan!"
Laura bit Aslan's hand and ran out of the car. Aslan followed the stubborn woman.
Laura followed Darrel to the upper floor. Luckily, the receptionist was willing to show them which floor they were on.
"Laura, stop! You have no right over Darrel anymore," Aslan said.
"We just broke up this afternoon, and tonight he's taking another woman to a hotel. What does that mean?" Laura asked.
Laura was now in front of the room Darrel had booked with the woman earlier and tried to knock. Laura was still sobbing, and Aslan immediately hugged her tightly.
"Laura, enough! You'll only hurt yourself if you see it all. You and Darrel weren't meant to be together," Aslan said.
