Chapter 6 Part 6

"Aslan, you're so crazy; I hate it."

Laura tried to open the car door, but Aslan had already locked it; she asked Aslan to drop her off right now, but Aslan didn't want to and instead stepped on the gas. Laura wasn't ready to show her face to Darrel again, but it looked like this was heading to her boarding house. Yes, Aslan drove her to the boarding house and didn't meet Darrel.

"There you go, go home, we can talk tomorrow. It's getting late. You can't go out," Aslan said.

"You should know better; I'm not marrying you," Laura replied as she exited the car.

Laura ran into her boarding house while Aslan sighed harshly. The situation was crazy; he'd confessed to everyone that he'd tasted the body of his son's girlfriend. What could he do? Clearly, Aslan wouldn't agree if the woman he slept with became his daughter-in-law. Surely, Aslan would have imagined his fatal mistake if that had happened.

Aslan headed home, hoping Darrel would still forgive him, even though it didn't seem like it would be that easy. Arriving home, Aslan saw Darrel packing up his things, accompanied by his mother.

"What are you doing?" Aslan asked.

"Aslan, you're such a jerk," Mona replied.

"Mona, you should stay out of this. This is between me and Darrel," Aslan said.

Mona folded her arms across her chest and gave Aslan a sharp look. "I'm his biological mother, and I have every right to interfere in this matter. How could you turn your back on your child? My choice to ask for a divorce from you was not wrong," Mona concluded with mockery.

"This has nothing to do with our divorce. Didn't you ask for a divorce because you slept with your mistress?"

Darrel was furious with them. "Enough! I'm sick of you guys. You're selfish, always looking out for yourselves. I'm not going with anyone, so get out of my way now! I'm an adult, and I'm going to pay my way."

Darrel grabbed his suitcase and walked out of Aslan's house. Mona kept urging Darrel to come with her, but Darrel, of course, didn't want to. Going with his mama was the same thing, especially since he didn't like his stepfather. Aslan stared at Darrel as he left. He didn't even take the new bike he'd bought for him with him.

"Aslan, you..." Mona said.

"What?" asked Aslan.

"Fucking bitch!"

Aslan smiled wryly. His ex-wife often spoke harshly to him, but Aslan chose to remain silent because he didn't want to add to the problem. After Mona and Darrel left, Aslan walked into the house and kicked every object before him.

"Argh! Shit! Why did it become like this?"

Of course, he was furious that his fad of booking a night out on a naughty app had landed him in such trouble. Monica had drifted away from him since the divorce with Mona, and now Darrel was drifting away.

"I need to find Laura's friends. Yes, they're the culprits," Aslan said.

Aslan grabbed his car's ignition and headed again to Laura's boarding house. Today, the problem has to be solved. Aslan didn't want to think about it and make her die too soon. The luxury sedan drove at high speed on the deserted road; the air was getting cooler, but his heartfelt hot. He felt like sinking into the sea and never surfacing again. Damn it, he even remembered a few rounds, especially since he only used his instinct to take it out.

"If that girl gets pregnant, I'm done for," Aslan muttered.

When they arrived at Laura's boarding house, it turned out that she had already gone to work at the convenience store. Laura was taking on two jobs in one day. Laura's neighbor told Aslan where Laura was currently working, so Aslan quickly drove to the location close to Laura's boarding house.

Aslan parked his car in front of the convenience store; he went inside and saw Laura arranging the soap in its place. Laura was surprised by Aslan's arrival.

"Are you stalking me?" Laura asked.

"Stalking? I just happened to want to buy a drink here," Aslan replied as he picked up a facial cleanser.

"That's face soap and not a drink."

Aslan nodded. "Yes, I know. I want to brew this soap with ice cubes and drink it. You know that Darrel hates me, and I want to end my life."

Laura didn't care. She continued to work while glancing at Aslan, who had taken the glass with ice cubes and paid at the cash register. Laura's friend at the cash register was mesmerized by Aslan's good looks, especially since he was famous in the city. After paying, Aslan opened the liquid soap and put it into the glass filled with ice cubes. Laura panicked and took the glass from Aslan's hand.

"Are you crazy?" Laura asked.

"Yes, I'm crazy because I'm entangled with you. My son hates me and left home," Aslan replied.

Laura's friend Evelin was listening to their argument. Realizing this, Laura quickly pulled Aslan out of the convenience store.

"I'm going to finish my contract and leave town. Uncle doesn't need to worry; I'm leaving here," Laura said.

"You're leaving? Is that easy? What if you get pregnant?" Aslan asked.

Laura immediately put her hand over his mouth, and Aslan removed her hand from his mouth.

"You're insolent with your parents," Aslan said as he wiped his lips.

"Please, Aslan, don't complicate things anymore. I'm not pregnant, and I don't want to be pregnant with your child. Now go, I have to work."

Laura walked into the convenience store, and Evelin smiled mockingly at her. Laura ignored her and went back to arranging the soaps on the shelves. Curious Evelin approached Laura and nudged her on the shoulder.

"Hey, what's the deal with Aslan Federick?"

"Nothing."

Evelin didn't believe her. "Don't lie! You guys look close."

"He's Darrel's father."

Evelin was surprised. She was getting more and more interested in the direction of this conversation. "Wow, so he's your future father-in-law? Cool! Introduce him to me! Who knows if he needs a sugar baby," Evelin said confidently.

Laura rolled her eyes in disgust. "Where's the old man from yesterday? Still not enough?"

Evelin folded her arms across her chest. "If you can have two at once, why not?"

Laura laughed; Evelin had something on her mind. Evelin nudged Laura's arm and pointed outside. Aslan was still on the terrace of the convenience store, staring intently at Laura's face. Laura finally got out of there because there was no other choice; Aslan seemed to trap her and make her unable to be free.

"Aslan, go home!"

"I want to meet your friends who set you up that time. I'll turn them into the police. They could be charged."

"Aslan, please don't make things harder! I'm begging you. What do you want?"

Aslan was silent momentarily as he looked at Laura's distressed face. "I'm just afraid you're pregnant. If you do get pregnant, then we have to get married. It's a last resort, and we can't escape reality."
