Chapter 5 AVA'S ENCOUNTER WITH THE CEO

While Ava was going to the section of drinks to get refreshments for the CEO and his guests, she was thinking about his body, how cool he looks. He's my type of man. She said inwardly, giggling.

Hey Aiden, she said to the guy who's in charge of drinks.

"Hey Ava, how are you? "he asked. I'm good and you, she answered back

"I'm okay too,

He has always been kind and caring to Ava, but he hasn't told her he likes her, maybe he's shy.

"I heard you're the one to serve the CEO and his guests", he asked worriedly

Yes, I am, she answered, pls be careful, Ava had to comfort him.

It's fine huh, I'll be fine, she reassured him with a pleasant smile on her face .

"You know I'm just worried about you, I heard he fires people at any slightest mistake", he said..

I'll be fine, Thanks buddy, she said and winked at him.

They both laughed as he handed her the drinks inside a trolley, she waved at him and left with the trolley. When she got in the elevator, she met the supervisor, Miss Rivera spraying a cologne. greeted her but she didn't respond. That's how she is, she's so full of herself, Ava muttered. staring at her sarcastically thinking she's trying to smell nice with the outfit she's putting on, wondering if she can breathe in those tight-fitting clothes. Then she continued spraying it, and Ava is no longer having it, she was already choking and coughing because of the strong odour coming out from the cologne.

She had to talk to her.

Ma'am, this is too much, you're trying to suffocate us here, Ava said thinking she'll understand.

She just smirked and continued what she was doing.

She got angry, and before she could do anything, the ping of the elevator broke the tension, Ava hurriedly got off,and started walking towards the room was supposed to go and serve. But oblivious to her, the lady mis Rivera. Was behind, following, she paid no attention to that though, when they got to the door, the men in black, scrutinized them both and allowed them to go in.

They entered at the same time, this made Ava almost paused when she discovered she had fall step from behind, and was leading the way. The CEO and his guest were busy talking, then as soon as Ava and the lady got in they stopped talking, the CEO's face darkened as they drew close.

Ava was still frowning because of what that lady did some minutes ago.

Talk of the witch, she started talking but was shut up by the CEO.

"Hey Nath," she said, smiling like a teenager in love. Ava's eyes widened, surprised though, because for her to call someone like the CEO by his name, you must be someone close, with power or you're courting death.

Then what he said made Ava almost to laugh

"Don't ever call me by my name, you know how to address me", he said while his body started to react to something. He then said

"YOU", while bowing his head

Ava thinking he's still talking to the lady she was literally laughing inside her.

Then he turned towards Ava and

The room became so cold

He walked towards her and said

"You, who sent you? I said who sent you"?.. he shouted angrily at her..

She was shocked, but won't give him the satisfaction of knowing she's scared of him. Ava looked at him like he's some crazy being and gave him an answer that shocked everyone.

"I don't understand you mister", she said

"Who would have sent me if not the manager"?...

"What kind of question is that"?, she continued.

Everyone was shocked, even the CEO himself surprised, Ava didn't know where the courage came from but she just had to reply to him.

The next thing he said made her lose her senses for some seconds

"You're fired"!!!, he said and left without listening to anything.

She had to process it for some seconds before she registered that he just fired her

Wait , what?? He fired me just like that?", she asked no one in particular.

"This is ridiculous", she said, shedding her scarf and apron before storming off from the room. She closed the door behind her with force. The people in the room were left dumbfounded, everyone looked at each other in awe. Miss Rivera who is the supervisor of the hotel rooms left there storming her feet on the ground cause she wasn't able to seduce Nath.

Mr Perez and his entourage walked out and were directed to their respective rooms till when Nath would come back..

As CEO Nath emerged from the room, the overpowering scent of cologne hit him like a punch to his gut. He felt his breath catch, and his vision began to blur. The smell was suffocating, while he stumbled forward, desperate for fresh air. Who could have done this? He wondered, his mind racing with suspicion. "Only my family and a selected few knew about my allergy to strong colognes. It was a secret I'd kept hidden for years, ever since the tragic loss of my parents. The memory of that fateful day still lingered, and the scent of that particular cologne was forever etched in my mind. He thought while struggling

A wave of anger washed over him as he realized someone had deliberately tried to incapacitate him. "You'll pay for this betrayal," he vowed, his aura radiating an icy intensity. He ordered his personal assistant and guards who were trying to support him to keep their distance, not wanting them to suffocate him with their concern.

As he struggled to regain his footing, he felt the wall supporting his weight. The smell was making him weaker, and his vision was blurred. Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him. "Who's there?" He growled, his voice cold and menacing.

One of his guards replied, "Boss. " Nick must have sent him, but he'd explicitly ordered everyone to leave him alone. "Are you tired of living?" He snarled, his anger boiling over. The guard cowered and fled, abandoning his post.

After a few minutes of fresh air, he began to feel a bit more stable. But just as he was regaining his composure, he heard footsteps again. "Can't they see for once I'm trying to recover?" His irritation simmered just below the surface.

As the footsteps drew closer, he knew there's something more coming, so he prepared himself for a confrontation. "You're courting death," he sneered, ready to take on whoever was foolish enough to approach him in his vulnerable state.

But before he could even face his attacker, a rod came crashing down on his back head, sending him tumbling into darkness.
