Ava stood and watched him go, feeling a mix of anger and frustration. She knew she had to be careful today. One mistake, and she could lose her job, her colleagues glance at her.
Felt some gaze on her so she turned her back to see some of my colleagues looking at her, some with pity, and the two ladies who didn't have the chance to serve the CEO were looking at her with contempt. I'm sure if eyes could kill, I'll be 6 feet beneath the ground, she muttered to herself.
As she walked towards the changing room to put on her uniform, she overheard some colleagues whispering behind her back. She caught snippets of their conversation, including the word "slut." She didn't bother responding; she just kept walking.
When she got to the changing room, she met her best friend, Grace, who was struggling to put on her skirt. She always has problems wearing it.
"Hey baby, I'm here", she said while hugging her from behind
"Ooh Ava, please come help me with this, it's giving me headaches", she said..
She helped her,
" thank you baby" she said and they chatted for a bit.
As she talked, Ava mentioned the supervisor's punishment. "I'm the one in charge of the VVIP block today," she said.
Grace's eyes widened in surprise. "What!? That's a big responsibility!" She exclaimed.
She nodded. "Of cause I know, and I'm not sure why he assigned me to it. He knows I'm not exactly... diplomatic." She replied
Grace chuckled. "Well, maybe he wants to see you fail."
Ava rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that's probably it."
No problem, I'll try and be careful she said.
"Okay, let me go to my post before he comes shouting like a loose dog," Grace said while they were laughing.
After they finished getting ready, Grace headed off to her post. While Ava stood, she took a deep breath, preparing herself for whatever the day might bring. Then she walked out of the changing room, heading to the VVIP block. She couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness. She had heard that the CEO, Nathaniel Perry, was mafia, a demanding and ruthless man. He was known for his high standards and his willingness to fire anyone who didn't meet them.
On getting closer to the block, she heard again. "Slut", Beth said, She didn't reply to her, she just kept on walking. Then the other lady, Rose caught up to her, held her hand and made her stop. She looked her straight up in the eyes. "We are talking to you and you are walking out" Rose said. And who are you?? Why do I have to wait?? She answered back.
"You've succeeded in seducing the supervisor to make you the server for the VVIP block right" she said. Ava looked at her like she was so dense, didn't she see the way the supervisor was scolding me.. she muttered, shook her head. Didn't you hear when he said it was punishment for me?? She asked them.
"What kind of punishment is that? That requires you to serve the most handsome man in our country huh??" Beth said annoyingly. That's when she figured out the reason she's acting this way. She has a crush on him.. Wait, does she think the man would look at her or even spare her a glance??.. she laughed inwardly. If you have any complaint you can go to Mr John, he was the one who assigned me there, and if you don't mind I'll take my leave now cause I have work to do. Ava said and left them to stew in their bitter juice.
As she headed to the VIP suite, thoughts swirled in her mind. She took a deep breath, attempting to calm her nerves. "I've worked at this hotel for years, and I'm capable of handling my job," she reassured herself. "I just need to focus and ensure everything goes smoothly." With renewed determination, she continued toward the suite, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
As she entered the VIP suite, she noticed the luxurious decor and the perfectly arranged furniture. She took a moment to survey the area, making sure everything was in order. The soft hum of conversation drifted from the hallway, growing louder with each passing moment. She knew the CEO, Nathaniel Perry, would be arriving soon, and she needed to be prepared.
She checked her watch for what felt like the hundredth time, her mind racing with worst-case scenarios. What if she spilled something on him? What if she forgot an important detail? She pushed the thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand.
