Chapter 6 Sophia.

SOPHIA'S POV.

Lucas house was a bloody castle. I have never before, and I did guess that his house would be huge, but not this huge.

We drove in through the huge iron gates and passed through a series of green trees and beautiful flowers, until we finally parked at the outdoor garage which was on the other side of the house.

Although it was night, everything could be seen visibly because there was light all over the place.

Lucas got out of the car and hurried to my side to opened the car door for me. I climbed down, my eyes looking around in amazement.

"This is like stepping into another heaven." I breathed out in awe and Lucas chuckled.

"Don't worry honey, this place is going to become your home when we get married."

With our arms linked, we walked towards the front pouch leading to the front door, and it was a relief Lucas was holding unto me, if not I would have fallen on my face because of the heels.

We were greeted with voices the moment we stepped into the place. The room was wide like that of a ballroom, and there was a grand staircase in the middle of the room.

Everything about the place screams wealth and sophistication.

Three women were seated on the exotic cushioned chairs. One was a very beautiful blond in an elegant royal blue cocktail dress, the other black haired lady was dressed in a black mermaid evening gown and the last was on older woman in a red dress similar to mine.

Her face was aged but her body looks classy.

"Mom," Lucas address the older woman, leaving my side to go give her a kiss on the cheek.

"Oh my handsome boy. We have been waiting for you."

"Sorry for my tardiness mom. It took some time for me to pick up the love of my life." He turn towards me to pull me forward proudly, and their eyes all followed to stare at me. "Everyone, this is my girlfriend Sophia."

Shyly I waved a hand "hello."

The blond woman stood up and came towards me with her hand extended, and a kind smile on her face. "Hello, my name is Emma. I'm a family friend."

I took her hand slowly and unsure, "Sophia." I mumbled.

The black haired girl scoffed loudly, "seriously brother, I expected better from you. I thought your girlfriend is someone prettier than Emma."

"Amelia!" Emma whispered yelled, "be nice!" she scolded and Emma rolled her eyes.

"Lets put that aside." Lucas mother spoke facing me directly. I was already starting to feel nervous. Amelia seem to be Lucas sister and it's already obvious that she doesn't like me. "What do you do for a living?" Mrs Sullivan's question brought me back to earth.

I glance at Lucas in surprise. Didn't he tell them that I worked for his company?

"Mom, it's obvious that she doesn't belong in this place nor in that dress. Brother probably picked her out of the gutters, so don't expect anything good from her." Amelia's words made me flinch at her harshness.

"Stop it Lia!" Lucas snapped in anger, "I won't stand here and listen to you insult my girlfriend!"

Amelia rolled her eyes again, looking away in annoyance.

"Honey, Emma here is a super model and a fashion designer, a perfect match for you. Where did you get this?" Mrs Sullivan gestured to me like I was trash, and that caused tears to well up in my eyes.

"She tried too hard mom. Look, the dress doesn't even fit." Amelia pointed out, scoffing at me, and I reminded myself that crying would only embarrass me right now.

"Mom, can you guys just please get to know her first? Sophia is a really sweet person." Lucas pleaded.

A maid opened the door in that moment, and we all glance towards the door to find a tall blond and extremely handsome young man.

His hair style was a buzz cut and there was several piercings in his both ears. His casual ripped jeans and black leather jacket shows that he doesn't belong here.

"Hello," he greeted in a deep melodic masculine voice that seem to echo continuously in my ears.

"Who let a robber into my house?!!!" Mrs Sullivan shrieked in horror.

"Max!" Amelia called as she stood up from her chair and hurried to the guy. "Why are you dressed like this? I told you to wear a suit."

He smiled sheepishly. A smile so dazzling with his straight white teeth. It almost made me want to smile too. "I'm sorry, I couldn't afford the suit you pointed out."

"You should have told me, you moron!"

"Lia, is he someone you know?" Mrs Sullivan asked in a disapproving tone.

Amelia faced her mom, standing close to Max. "Yes mom. Max is a... friend from my university days. I saw him recently and invited him over for dinner. He can't afford his own meals at times, and I just thought I should help feed him today."

We all stared at her startled by her words, and Max looked like she just cut his heart with a knife.

I felt sorry for him.

"A friend or a boyfriend?" Lucas teased and his sister glared at him.

"No daughter of mine will date a thing like that!" Mrs Sullivan declared as she also stood up. I watched Max shoulder slump in dismay. "before my children give me a heart attack, can we all head to the dinning hall first? I am not in approval of your dates, but I'll take it as feeding the needy."

She walked ahead of us with Emma beside her, and Amelia followed, dragging Max with her while scolding him, "you couldn't wear something more appropriate. It's a family dinner for God sake!"

Lucas turned to me and gave me an assuring smile. "Everything is going to be fine Sophia. I promise."

His words usually made me feel better, but this time, they only made me feel worst.
