Chapter 2 Kiss of Jealousy

"Honey, wake up!" Angie kissed her husband's face affectionately.

The woman already looked beautiful this morning.

"Um... is it morning already, honey?" Dalton asked, still half-asleep.

"Yes, honey, you slept very soundly last night!" Angie then hugged Dalton's naked body.

Last night, Dalton intended to take a shower, but he could no longer resist his drowsiness and decided to just take off all his clothes and sleep next to Angie.

"I'm sorry, honey. I was also tired, so I didn't have time to shower last night. I'll shower first, then we'll have breakfast with Laura too."

"With Laura too?" Angie looked at her husband strangely. It was unusual for Dalton to want to eat at the same table with Laura.

Even if Angie had to ask Dalton to allow her to invite Laura, Dalton would rather separate himself from Angie and Laura.

"I'm forced to do it because I want to eat at the same table with you, honey!" Dalton reasoned.

Angie smiled, "Then let's take a shower! It's been a long time since I've bathed this muscular body!" she playfully suggested to her husband.

Dalton, happy to hear that, immediately carried Angie to take a shower together.

Angie shrieked with joy at the gentle touches from her husband.

Their shower together lasted a long time, filled with acts of mutual satisfaction.

But Dalton felt something was different; he couldn't even focus on Angie. The man was imagining that the woman he was currently embracing was Laura.

Dalton couldn't forget everything about Laura's body because of last night's events.

"Enough, honey! Laura might be waiting for me for breakfast!" Angie urged Dalton to finish their activities in the bathroom.

After they were ready, Angie and Dalton left their hotel room. Then Angie knocked on the door of the next room, where Laura was staying.

But after knocking several times, there was no answer from inside the room.

"Maybe Laura had breakfast earlier, honey. Let's go. Maybe we'll meet Laura downstairs," Angie suggested to her husband.

Dalton followed his wife's words. Although in his heart, he felt worried about Laura.

Dalton was afraid something had happened to her.

They walked together along the beautiful beach in the morning, enjoying a vacation they rarely took.

Suddenly, Dalton caught sight of the figure that had been lingering in his thoughts.

That figure was sitting pensively by the beach.

"Honey, isn't that Laura?" Dalton pointed to his wife's friend.

"Oh yes, that's Laura. LAURA!" Angie shouted.

Laura, hearing her name called, turned and waved to her friend.

Angie ran towards Laura.

"Why didn't you wait for me and Dalton for breakfast? Don't tell me you're hungry again! You're so greedy; you ate the most last night!" Angie teased, laughing at Laura.

"I just wanted to go for a morning walk," Laura replied briefly, without a smile.

Laura was mostly silent because her mind was troubled.

Occasionally, Laura stole glances at Dalton and found him also staring at her.

"Laura, this morning is special for me! Because we can eat at the same table with my husband too!"

What Angie said surprised Laura.

She knew it would be difficult for her now.

"I'm sorry, Angie, but I've already had breakfast. Enjoy your meal with Dalton. I'll go back to the hotel!"

"Don't you want to eat at the same table with me, Laura?" Dalton tried to prevent her from leaving.

Dalton knew that Angie would be sad about Laura's change in attitude.

"I just want you two to have time together. Besides, I'm already full. After eating, I'll wait in my room, Angie!"

Laura still refused, but she smiled so Angie wouldn't be sad.

"I'll definitely see you later!" Angie agreed.

That morning, Angie truly enjoyed her time alone with Dalton.

The woman was sure Laura left to make her happy.

"You're going to work? I have to see Laura in her room!"

Because their main purpose for going to the island was business, Angie invited Laura to keep her company while Dalton worked.

"Yes, I'm going! But I'll accompany you to see Laura first. I have to ask Laura to accompany you shopping. Buy whatever you like, and don't forget to buy something for Laura as a thank you for being a good friend to my beloved wife!"

Angie was happy to hear Dalton's words.

What Laura did by leaving them to eat alone made Dalton more attentive to Angie.

"Dalton, why are you here?" Laura asked, surprised that he had entered her room.

"I just want to make sure you'll accompany my wife all day. I have to go and might be back by midnight. Angie wants to go shopping, and this time I'm kind enough to give you a gift for being a good friend to Angie!"

From that look, Laura clearly understood his intention.

She hated seeing it, but she couldn't control her rapidly beating heart.

"My husband seems to be starting to like you! That's good; you don't have to keep avoiding him!" Angie whispered, hugging Laura's arm.

"Don't worry, I'll accompany Angie so you can go now!" Laura urged.

"Laura, your body feels warm. Are you okay?"

Angie suddenly felt Laura's higher body temperature.

"I'm fine! Maybe just a little cold!"

Laura tried hard to hide her illness, but Angie, who was always sensitive to her condition, noticed it.

"Then we don't need to go anywhere. I'll just stay with you in the room!" Angie canceled her plans.

"Honey, this is our last day here, and you haven't bought anything yet. Go ahead; I'll have the driver take you. And you, Laura, rest! Because tomorrow we'll have an early morning flight!"

"Dalton is right. Go, Angie! I'll rest!"

Angie hugged Laura tightly. "I'll be back soon after shopping. I'll also buy your favorite things. Don't get sick, because I don't want to see you sick!" Angie said before leaving her friend.

Laura was relieved because she could avoid Angie.

Every time she saw Angie, guilt haunted her.

But when she realized Dalton kept looking at her, there was a happiness she couldn't explain.

Laura walked Angie and Dalton to the door of their room, but she didn't go in immediately. Laura heard that Angie would go to her room first to get her bag.

When Laura tried to peek, she saw Angie and her husband kissing passionately.

It made Laura dislike it, even though this wasn't the first time Laura had seen her friend being affectionate with her husband in front of her.

Laura had even seen them making love in her room, which happened to be not completely closed.

The woman stood dumbfounded at the doorway.

"Honey, that's enough! You'll end up not going to work if you keep kissing me like that!" Angie broke the kiss.

"You always make me want to be close to you!" Dalton said, glancing at Laura.

He seemed to be deliberately trying to make Laura jealous.

Realizing that, Laura immediately went inside and locked her room door.

Meanwhile, Dalton smirked. He was sure Laura was jealous.

"I have to go now! Remember, don't worry about Laura, and go buy whatever you want!" Dalton said before entering the elevator.

"Why don't I like seeing them being affectionate? Good heavens, Laura, why are you being so foolish? Wake up! Who is Dalton?!"

Laura continued to berate herself.

Her heart now felt bound to Dalton. The admiration she once felt had returned as a longing for the touch Dalton had given her.

"I can't be like this! Dalton belongs to Angie!"

Her heart ached as love began to bloom, but for the wrong man.

The woman could only cry, burying her face in her pillow.

Suddenly, Laura was startled by a knock on her door. She hesitated to open it, fearing it was Dalton.

Then her phone rang, coinciding with the persistent knocking.

"Dalton, what does he want calling?" Laura muttered.

But Laura was reluctant to answer the phone.

"If Dalton is calling, it means he's not the one knocking!"

Laura slowly opened the door.

"You took so long to open the door! I was so worried."
