Third person's POV*
Three days later, Afternoon*
"Why haven't you been picking up my calls?" the voice groaned. Marco had to remove the phone from his ear due to how deep and harsh the voice sounded.
"What do you want to say? Don't nag at me, Grandpa. I'm not a kid!" Marco replied briskly.
"I can see, Marco, you are growing wings. Tell me what you have been up to lately," Marco chuckled.
"There's no point in asking me. You already know; I mean, you've been told already, so what's the point of asking again? Just go straight to why you called. Don't stress me!"
"Don't get on my nerves, Marco! I've told you countless times you can't do that stuff! Love is for the weak!" Godfather half-yelled.
"And who told you I'm in love with her? I've told you this stuff countless times too, and I'm repeating it: she's not my lover," Marco slammed angrily.
"Prove it! You don't love her? Fine! Then prove it, Marco!"
"What do you want me to do?"
"Take her to the ball, put her on display. Sell her out!" Marco's eyes widened.
"Sell her out? Why? Why should I do that?"
"You claim not to love her. Selling her out shouldn't be a problem, right?" Marco remained silent.
"Good boy, I will be waiting. Don't try anything funny, Marco. I've got my eyes on you!" He ended the call, leaving Marco hanging.
"Fuck!" Marco cursed in frustration.

Nanny Daisy walked into the room holding a tray of food.
"Hey dear, how are you feeling today?" Sarah glared at the nanny and then chuckled.
"Stop asking me how I'm doing; you obviously know that I'm not doing well in this hellhole!" She snapped at Nanny Daisy.
"Don't say that, dear; everything is going to be fine," the nanny mumbled, patting her shoulders.
"You have been giving me this fake assurance for days now, yet nothing gets better. From getting bullied by the members to his constantly feeling sorry, I understand he's not quite okay, and that's the more reason he should let me go!" Nanny Daisy smiled and then took a seat beside her on the bed.
"He's not always been this way; he only turned this way after his mom left. He's a very sweet boy; all you have to do is give him time! You will get to love him if you understand him and learn to accept him the way he is." Sarah scoffed loudly.
"Love him for who he is? How the hell do you expect me to love a psycho? At this point, he doesn't need love; all he needs is therapy! Or rather, he should visit the psychiatrist. I can't possibly love a psycho! No way!" Sarah blurted amidst chuckles.
"Don't say that, dear; he loves you genuinely, and believe me when I tell you this: he's trying to change. You just have to help him become what you want him to be. I'm begging you, Sarah. Don't give up on him."
"What do you want me to do?" The sound of the door opening interrupted their discussion.
"Get ready; you are going with me to a ball." Sarah looked at him, wondering what he meant by the word ball.
She looked at the nanny for an explanation.
"Get her ready tonight; the godfather wants us to attend a ball tonight!" Without giving them any chance to respond, he walked away.
"What does he mean by the word ball? Does that mean he's talking about taking me out to play football?" Nanny Daisy chuckled at her naivety.
"No, dear, a ball is a place where people, or rather businessmen, buy and sell their valuables, including slaves-just like some of the maids in the clan. He bought them at a ball." Alisha looked at her, surprised.
"Does that mean he wants to sell me out?"
"I don't know, dear. I'm still wondering how the godfather got to know about it. He had to obey the godfather if that's what he wants." Sarah's heart sank into her stomach.
"Please, Nanny, talk to him; I don't want to be sold out. What if he sells me out to a cruel man who will turn me into a sex worker?" Sarah panicked.
"You don't have to be scared, dear; the Marco I know will never sell you out. He's only taking you along to avoid disobeying the godfather's instructions. Just make sure you do whatever he asks you to do, and you will be fine." Sarah nodded, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.
"I understand that look, girl; don't even think of escaping. If you are raped or anything bad happens to you, he won't be able to do anything! Just be a good girl, Sarah, even if it's just this once."

Night
Ball*
Sarah's POV:
I followed him like a lost sheep. He earlier offered me a hand, but I refused.
We got into the large building, and my jaw dropped.
I was expecting to see a party filled with people, loud music, and probably food and drink, but I was shocked to see the opposite of what I expected.
As I kept looking around, my eyes caught sight of a guy with tattoos. I could tell he had been looking at me; he only looked away when he noticed he had drawn my attention.
I quickly looked away to avoid further problems; there's no way I would let my gaze meet that of someone who looked so dangerous. What if he gets mad and wants me?
Something inside me whispered to look back, and I did. As if he was expecting me to look back, our gazes locked, mine with his deep blue eyes. I quickly looked away in fear.
Alex's POV:
She immediately looked away the moment our eyes met.
Just as I wanted, he brought her to the ball, just like I predicted.
I've been waiting for this day for weeks now; Sarah is mine, and there's nothing that will stop me from taking her tonight!
