Chapter 9 9: Alpha of Alphas

Chapter 10 10: I am for trouble

Chapter 11 11: Brothers

/ 1

"We have to go immediately!" Alice half shouted, which made my heart skip a bit and nearly explode.
She had a very terrified expression on her face, which made me feel like we were in great trouble, even if I didn't have any idea of what was happening.
There was no time for me to ask any questions as she took me by the hand like a little lost kid who had just found a saviour.
The firmness of her grip on my hand made me feel a quick pain that sent the sensation directly to my head as I imagined that the skin on my wrist had been ripped off.
Alice panted heavily as we ran towards the direction from which we had come out earlier.
We ran through the woods roughly while Alice held tightly to my hand, all the while like I was going to vanish if she didn't do so.
I turned around to have a hopefully glance at the creature, not minding that I might fall to my death or have her drag me along the pathway, as it seemed like she wasn't going to wait even a second.
There was nothing in the bush other than thick black darkness, the woods seemed to get darker in my head each second we made a step.
"Ahhhhhhh!" I let out a scream after colliding with one of the very tall trees in the woods, my stomach hurt so much since it came in contact with the tree.
In no time, I was on the floor struggling with both catching my breath and figuring out what was happening or was going to happen.
Alice turned around swiftly to see me helping myself up as she impatiently beckoned on me to join her in our race.
I felt a strange power take over my legs as I ran swiftly alongside her until our destination.
"Where is she?, Don't tell me that!" Derek's voice thundered from within, which made me shiver a bit in fear before taking more steps towards the direction of his voice.
" Don't come back until you find her, that's it!" He half shouted at a young man who took a slight bow before hurrying away into the woods.
'What is happening....why is he this mad?' I thought as I got close enough to see his raging face, which was already growing hair on it slightly as he breathed heavily.
He ignored my presence as though I wasn't visible,I stood still for some seconds watching him in fear, surprise and also in confusion.
I have never seen him this mad, even if I haven't spent much time with him.
" Why did you all let her out? What if anything had happened?" He suddenly said, sounding furious as he looked at some people behind me.
I stepped back a little to notice that the room had been crowded with some people who seemed like his domestic staff, who were all in uniforms, both men and women.
Noticing that the case was really serious to him, but not for me, since I can't see any wrong in going to take a walk and probably almost got killed by a creature I still don't know exactly.
"I asked her to take me for a walk.... I insisted that she do so" I voiced, thinking he would calm down a little, knowing that it was my idea to go out, which it wasn't obviously.
Seth walked towards us and took Alice away, which reminded remember that Alice had been by my side all this while.
I looked around from the other corner of my eyes to find the room almost empty aside from myself and the angry-looking Derek.
It seems like the rest had disappeared or something since I wasn't paying attention to them and didn't know when they all left.
" You went out to Rex! Do you really want to be with him that much that you would risk your life for it?" Derek suddenly asked, which made me raise one of my eyebrows up realising the reason for his unstable temper.
This dude is an animal, brought me, said something about me being for him, obviously in a cult and is worried about my life? Imagine the irony.
"What if some wolves that are still learning how to shift found you and ate you?" He asked calmly to my surprise, how he had just switched mood and tone of voice like he was feeling better.
" I would rather prefer to be eaten by them than allow you to do anything to me!" I scoffed out loud, feeling unsure of what I had just said.
There was a very loud silence that fell upon us as I stood still, gazing at the back of his head from where he was by the open window.
"You must have also been in the woods, too, to know that I went out to look for Rex!" I said this time in a higher pitch, which made me regret it almost immediately, sensing that it must have kindled his raging anger.
I noticed the electric lamp beside him flying across the room with his hand going for another one beside the bed as he groaned loudly.
I trembled in fear as my eyes widened with my mouth opened slightly, and I moved a few steps backwards.
He turned to look at me while his nails grew out longer and his eye colour was in an indefinite state as it changes each time and every passing second. He looked like he was struggling to keep his beast at bay.
" Because you have his smell all over you!" he said angrily as he threw a flower vase that had no flowers in it across to the wall directly opposite me. "You reck of him! Him of all people?! "
He was looking bigger than his usual human size as his clothes began to rip off slightly, accompanied by little cracking sounds.
My eyes caught the button of his shirt, doing a good job of holding back his shirt from ripping off his body.
" His smell is all over you!" He yelled, showing the amount of frustration he was going through at the moment.
Derek began to breathe more heavily than he was as he quickly wiped the little tears that were threatening to roll over his cheek if it had offended him. Gosh, this dude is so sensitive.
Saying more words wasn't an option now, as it seems like he won't be calm no matter what this time, but I wanted to say more even if he was throwing things across the room.
I didn't really realise earlier that there were many things in the room until now that he might probably destroy half of it if not all, aside the walls.
He quickly wiggled off a little cord that was around his hand in a hilarious manner which made me felt like laughing but I dared not.
I wanted to give him a piece of my mind but I didn't see myself dieing in the arms of an angry looking werewolf.
"I'm surprised Alice didn't try to convince you not to go out to see that bastard, to see Rex, knowing that your chance of survival in the woods is maybe 10 to 12%!"he said out loud looking straight at me with his both hands pointing towards the door.
"What if she didn't?" I said not really asking, feeling brave about what I was doing.
He stood still for some moments without saying a word like he was processing what I just said.
Derek took few steps forward still looking at me, I swallowed hard and expected to die soon. Or maybe be sent flying across the room.
He stopped few meters away and placed his both hand behind him quietly watching my face more like he was studying it.
"Are you both really twins?" I asked sounding abit awkward but still serious as I said stare back at his piercing gaze from few meters away from where I was standing.
He stared at me before taking a deep breath and swallowed softly before taking a quick look at his wrist watch which I just noticed that he still had on.
He quietly walked to me and leaned towards my face before lazyly whispering what seem like his last words for the day.
"Go to bed, I will talk about that tomorrow when I'm ok" he said and walked pass me, heading for the door.
" Why do you hate him so much? He might be misunderstood?" I asked waiting for him to say something even if I wasn't not expecting any response since he had calm down and probably no longer in the mood of talking neither shouting.
He walked out of the room after few seconds of waiting without saying any more words.
I felt abit empty and surprisingly strengthened immediately he left the room which gave me time to notice the huge mess he had caused while throwing things around.
The bed wasn't too far from where I was standing, it was void of any item other than soft pillows and the bed spread.
I walked into it and sat quietly, recalling everything that just happened as I wished I haven't been taken at first.
" I just want to wake up from all of this" I said almost in a whisper before lying on the bed facing up to the ceiling, having a pillow to cover my face.
