"What do you mean you won't mark me? Mia asked, pacing around the room furiously.
"You didn't invite me to your room to mark me?" she asked again, her voice held in shock.
"Yes, I won't mark you." Adam replied, calmly, sitting on his desk.
"OMG, our wedding is tomorrow night, Adam, I need you to mark me tonight! it's going to be a full moon and it will make our bond stronger." Mia yelled, she stood in front of Adam with her hands on her waist.
"I don't care," Adam replied, before standing up to leave the room. "But why?" Mia asked again, rushing to block Adam from leaving the room.
"Because I want my freedom and I know you want it to," Adam replied, shoving Mia out of his way.
"I don't understand," Mia looked confused.
Adam looked back, bent his head and stared deep into Mia's eyeballs.
"We will mate when we need to, but I don't want the whole jealousy that comes after the marking, the obsession, the ability to enter and read each other's thoughts. I am only getting married to you because I don't have much choice here so let's keep it the way I want it." he said, this voice was so cold and his face showed no sign of remorse.
The room went silent before Mia finally spoke "Bu...but I love you," she shattered trying to make her voice sound appealing, and holding Adams' shirt.
Adam had an evil laugh stare into Mia's eyes again before replying.
"We both know that a lie, Mia, you just want to be luna and you will be in as much as you agree with me," he shifted back away from Mia's touch.
"Deal?" Adam asked, stretching his hands toward Mia, and sending evil glare with his eyes.
"Fine," Mia replied angrily, ignoring Adam's hand she rolled her eyes before storming out the room.
Adam's face formed into an evil smile immediately Mia left the room, he picked up his phone and dialed a number, putting it on speaker.
"alpha," a voice called from the other end of the phone.
"Have you found her?" Adam replied. "No boss, but we are very close," the man replied. Noise could be heard from the background.
"What did you find?" Adam asked, with his thick husky voice.
"We found a lady named Raina Martins. She matches the description you gave," the man replied.
"Are you sure, I don't want any mistakes," Adam said in his warning voice.
"Yes alpha, she is an accounting student here at Oxtown University. I took some pictures of her this morning. I am sending it now to confirm."
Adam's phone beeped, he took his phone and went through the pictures smiling.
"Yes, that's her, get me her number fast!" Adam shouted, excitement was very obvious in his voice.
"Yes alpha, I will do that." The man replied before hanging up.
*******"
Why are you smiling?" Leland asked while cleaning some tools.
"I am not allowed to smile?" Adam asked, still smiling.
"You have been smiling since you got here, and I have not seen much of that these days. So, what's going on?" Leland asked, teasing Adam.
"I found her." Adam replied like a proud father, who found his missing child.
"You mean the mortal?" Leland asked. "Well, yes, the mortal," Adam replied, as the smile on his face vanished.
"I don't understand why you are obsessed with a mortal when you already found your mate, I thought werewolves are supposed to be obsessed with only their mate?" Leland asked, wiggling his eyebrows at Adam.
"Well I don't know, there is just something different about her that I feel I am missing, I just want to see her again, nothing much." Adam replied with a serious face.
"Nothing much?" Leland asked and chucked.
"What?" Adam asked, giving Leland a little knock on his head.
Leland chuckled again and raised his two hands up as a sign of surrender.
"What about Mia?" Leland asked, looking concerned.
"No feelings for her?" He asked again after a long minutes of silence between them.
"Of course, I have feelings for her, it's a wolf thing but we all know Mia's history, greedy and literally everybody in the pack has slept with her, including you" Adam said with a straight face pointing at Leland.
"My wolf yearns for her every night but I have always been disgusted by Mia and I just can't get over it," Adam sighed.
"What if your wolf ends up hurting your mortal?" Leland asked with a concerned expression.
"It won't, there was this calmness i felt and my wolf felt too when i was with her and i am going to confirm once i find her again" Adam replied.
"The wedding?" Leland asked, as his eyes met with Adam's.
"I don't have much choice, it's not like my father will accept a mortal, the wedding is still happening" Adam replied, his forehead pulled into a frown.
**********
Mia, who has been secretly listening to Adam and Leland's conversation, rushed to her room.
She quickly locked the door, picked up her phone and dialed a number.
"Mia," a male voice called from the phone.
"I told you to only call me luna," she said in a stern voice.
"I'm sorry... luna," the man apologized, sarcasm showing in his voice.
"You found her?" Mia asks, with an evil grin plastered on her face. "Ermm... no." The man hesitated before replying.
"Ohhh, don't you dare lie to me, I told you to let me know as soon as you find her." Mia yelled in a commanding tone.
"I haven't found her, I only saw someone that matches the description alpha gave me," The man replied calmly.
"But how did you know?" The man asked.
"Don't ask me silly questions, it's none of ur business, do your job, find her and let me know once you find her." She instructed.
"And make sure Adam does not find out about our conversations. He is my mate and you know what I can do, don't make me angry." She warned before cutting the call.
*******
"You can at least smile. It's your wedding." Leland said while adjusting Adam's suit.
Adam was putting on a fitted gray suit with a pattern tie, he looked perfect except for his face that has been pulled into a frown since he was forced to get out of bed.
"Yeah, whatever. It's not like it matters anyway" He sighed, falling into the couch.
Leland was about to argue when a man with dark skin peeped through the curtains. "It's time," the man announced.
With a pat on Adam's shoulder, "are you doing this?" Leland asked.
Adam stood up and forced a smile, adjusted his cufflinks and loosen his tie before he walked out of the room.
Adam emerged from the doorway of the church, looking less than enthusiastic. His aura was cold and his facial expression was like he wanted to kill. He stood at the altar waiting for his bride, tapping his foot on the ground impatiently.
Mia walked through the entrance looking absolutely stunning, her face was baked with different make up, she was putting on a white wedding gown with delicate lace.
Her smile was wide as she walked down the aisle holding onto her father, she was walking with her head held high and her shoulders back trying to give the aura of a luna.
As she got to the altar, she was smiling widely at Adam and trying to make eye contact with him. But he was just not interested.
He avoided eye contact like a plague, tapping his feets and hand, suggesting to the priest to be fast with his speech.
"Do you Adam Nash take Mia Alexander to be your lawful wife in....."
"Yes," Adam interrupted the priest, looking at the ground.
The priest cleared his throat, faced Mia and was about to repeat the vow but Mia also interrupted. "Yes," she yelled, grinning from ear to ear.
"Okay, you may kiss your bride." The priest announced and took three steps back, "the luna ceremony is going to take place in 3 nights from now" he announced, both his hands in the air.
Adam only gave Mia a peck on her cheek before walking out of the venue while the crowd cheered.
