Chapter 2 Alpha Byron Kings

Melody's POV

The rays of the sun shone brightly into my eyes forcing me to shield my eyes with my palm. I felt an excruciating pain when I tried to turn my neck to the other side. I forced my eyelids open immediately and I was shocked to the bone marrow to find myself on a cemented floor.

Not minding the pain on my neck I turned to the other side and I narrowed my eyes at the sight before me. I'm not just in the park house but I'm directly in the Omega's quarter, lying on the bare floor whereas there are beds in here.

"Ahhhh!" I screamed in pain as I tried to stand to my feet.

"Why do I feel like someone who was beaten by a thousand giants?" I muttered to myself while standing to my feet.

The minute I looked up, I came face to face with the woman I have made myself become, even my reflection in the mirror seems like a terrible nightmare to me. I look just as dejected as I really am. I chuckled as I took a step closer to the mirror, at each step I took, I felt it, it was so obvious even, I've never been this weak in my life.

"Melody Brown, just Melody Brown." I said with a forlorn smile.

I've been dippy and pea brained and I will never be this stupid ever again, I've learned my lessons the hard way. Love is a wicked feeling, it's a feeling of knavery and stratagem, it only makes one lead one self to an unending ocean of destruction.

It ribs one apart slowly in a sweet manner, each cut it makes brings smiles to one's face, till it takes the very last cut,then it leaves holes on each cut, leaving one in a lifetime of pain and regret,yet the good memories bring a whole different emotion; sweet pain.

"You're up already?" That came an unfamiliar voice,I turned towards the door immediately.

"Good morning." I greeted the head omega.

"I'm sorry that you slept over here, the Alpha himself ordered that you should be brought here. We didn't purposely leave you to sleep on the bare floor..."Her explanation was beginning to irk the hell out of me.

"Stop, it doesn't matter." I let out with my eyes shut trying to keep my emotions at bay, I took a deep breath and I walked towards her then place my hands on her shoulders.

"The deed has been done, it's okay."I continued with my hands placed on her shoulders.

"My Alpha..."

"It's Melody." I cut her short immediately and she swallowed hard.

"Melody, food is ready, please come downstairs for your breakfast." She requested and attempted turning to the door.

"You don't have to treat me differently, I'm one of you now."I assured her but she didn't say a word as she walked out of the room.

I exhaled deeply then walked towards the wardrobe and saw a few clothes hanging, none were mine, just then it dawned on me that the Omegas only have three different clothes, they don't have the liberty of wearing whatever they wanted.

"Melody, Mrs J asked me to bring your uniform to you." A lady by the door said and I turned towards her as she walked in and dropped the clothes on the bed.

"I can show you to the bathroom if you want."she suggested and I nodded.

"Take off your clothes." She asserted while staring down at me with her hand wrapped around her chest.

"You should probably..."

"Turn for you to change?" She asked sarcastically with a raised eyebrow.

"In that case, you didn't think it through before coming up with the idea of transferring your Alpha position to your mate. A reminder, the Omega's bathroom, is an open bath, there's no door whatsoever, most times the males pass by or even the guards and we don't do a thing." She said with her hands on her waist.

"Okay." I managed to say then took off my clothes and wrapped a really short towel which she gave me around my waist.

Reaching in the bathroom, the entire place was so crowded, everyone stopped what they were doing the minute they saw me and began to stare at me, as though I'm a newly launched television program. Not minding their stares I walked into the bathtub and took a really quick bath and walked out of there immediately.

I feel so suffocated here, the only thing I really want to do is to run far off into the forest, I need to stretch my bones. As soon as I came back to the room,I put on one of the clothes I was given and rushed out into the woods, this is just what I need.

Running as fast as my legs could carry me ,trying to shift to my wolf but to no avail, all my efforts were void. "Come on." I mind linked to my wolf but the worst part of the whole thing is that I can't feel her.

Perhaps the pain was unbearable for her but even so I should feel her presence at least, to be assured that she's still here with me. I kept running and stabbing my feet hard on the sandy ground but to no avail. My wolf has gone dormant.

I fell on the floor in agony , "Ahhhhhhuuuuuuu!" I exclaimed in agony, this pain is unbearable.

"Ahhhhhhuuuuuuu!" I exclaimed while scrunching my stomach with my hands and for the very first time in five years,tears welled down my cheeks and I let it,

Why on earth am I so unlucky? People do love right? Why is mine so different? My parents loved themselves till death but mine betrayed me even before we could seal our fate to the world.

I never knew that he had his plans all mapped out, he was deceiving me all along, he never loved me. But then why would he play with my emotions in such a way? What did I do for him to hate me so much?

I heard footsteps approaching and I stood up from the ground staggering as I tried to maintain my balance. I immediately went to a huge tree beside me and hid myself.

"Don't you think that that's stupid of you to do?" I heard a masculine voice from behind and I turned towards the voice rapidly.

His chiseled jaw highlighted his kissable lips and his ocean green eyes, that can get anyone stuck in its mystery, made me completely dumb for a while. Then, there goes that perfectly sharped abs that makes my palm ache to touch it. He's breathtakingly beautiful, though that alluring aura of dominance makes the air around him impenetrable.

"Don't you think the level of your stupidity just escalated, the minute you decided to do a foolish job such as this, just to get chicken change?"I retorted when I finally got my voice as I stared from his face down to his toe.

"What did you just say?" I leaned on the tree for support at the domineering aura which he possesses, he's definitely a powerful Alpha, I can feel it.

"Your...your level of...."I stuttered while fighting so hard to keep to my stance but I'm obviously quivering already.

"Mind Your Words!" He said each word with emphasis as he closed the distance between us and raised my hands upwards and held it together with one of his hands.

"I'm sorry."I apologized as I tried to squeeze out my hand from his hold.

"I can hardly perceive a wolf scent on you." He commented while sniffling all over my face, I closed my eyes and turned to the left.

I saw a flying arrow from behind and tried to call the stranger's attention but he was still sniffling like a dog. "Hey! Look!" I screamed in shock but he didn't even bulge.

He dragged me towards another tree as the arrow hit hard on the tree. "Stay here." He said to me as he began to run towards trees with the speed of lighting.

He dragged out two people standing behind a tree and without saying a word he ripped off their necks.

"You should go back to your Pack, it's not safe out here."He said afterwards as he began to walk towards a particular lane, not minding that his clothes were stained with blood.

"I'm Melody and you're?" I asked with a loud voice.

"Alpha Byron Kings." He replied, still walking towards the same path.

"Thanks." He didn't say a word and I watched him untill I could no longer see even his silhouette.

I walked towards the body he left lying lifeless and I couldn't help running towards the lane that leads to my pack. Those men were obviously sent by Weston to have me killed, they're his two best soldiers.

Just as I drew closer to my Pack, I felt a sharp arrow pierce into my chest and it made an opening on my back. Just a few more steps and I will be there. I continued running but this time, it wasn't only an arrow but two at a time, each piercing into my chest at a time, I couldn't take the pain as I fell to the floor with a loud thud; there's wolf bane on it.

But why does he want me killed? What did I do to deserve this? Darkness covered my vision even before my tears could slip down.
