Chapter 3 I Found You, Little Brother

Alpha Byron's POV

It was already late when I arrived at my mansion which is in the middle of the woods, surrounded with mountains, letting me enjoy the view of nature the way I love it. Though my pack is a bit far from here but then I don't even want to be anywhere close to my Pack, I will still perform my duty as their Alpha whenever they need me but for now, just this once in my life, let me be selfish; till I take my last breath.

"Your food is in the dining area." My butler said to me the minute I stepped into the living room.

"I crave for something else." I whispered into his ears and I felt him quiver.

"It's about to snow,I..." He was about to give me flimsy excuses but then I raised my hand to his face and he swallowed his next statement.

"I will take care of that." I said as I began to climb the staircase leading to my room.

Even from afar my beast can perceive it, yeah, a tasty blood, I felt my canines elongate and my claws followed suit, then my eye color changed immediately. I can't go downstairs, else I might inflict injury on my butler, I howled loudly then climbed to the rooftop and jumped down from there.

"Ahhh Uuuuuuuu!"I howled the more as I looked at the full moon.

I began to run in the direction of the blood scent, as fast as my legs could carry me, I kept running down into the woods, till the scent of the blood became stronger,I knew that I was closer to my target. Reaching there, I raised the lady up ready to tear her the more, but then for some reasons my beast dropped her back on the ground.

I looked up at the sky and howled in agony, then slowly I came back to my scenes.

"What a proud Alpha, you've made me." I chuckled lightly as I walked towards the lady lying lifeless on the ground.

An Alpha whose people are afraid of him, yeah they are. Why on earth would an Alpha always be thirsty for blood? Honestly I didn't bargain for this type of life. From the very first time I ripped off the neck of a fox as a child and drank from its blood, I knew that the thirst for blood would really be hard to quench and I was right.

I raised the hand of the lady lying on the ground, what's her name again? Melody, right? I can't recall accurately what she said her name was. Thankfully I can still feel her pulse, I raised her to my shoulder and began to run towards my mansion. Her pulse is weak already and if she's not attended to fast, then she might not survive.

Even as a child, I felt that aura around me that I'm different from the rest of the kids. The fact that none of my parents survived after my birth, was a great sign but then my uncle always vocalized it without minding my age; A living curse.

His words manifested when I shifted at the age of seven, everyone became afraid of me on the first day I shifted under the full red moon. I was smiling but then everyone was taking steps backwards. I didn't know their reason for doing so, even my uncle ran off into his mansion. Then I heard a lady mutter, "A cursed Alpha."

I ran towards the pod water so as to see my reflection, and indeed without a doubt, I am indeed a curse.

With a red fur and white eyes and to top it all my wolf isn't standing on his fours but instead he stood on his twos, larger than a normal wolf; A legendary Lycan.

Hell was let loose when I found out that I couldn't even control my beast. At seven, the agony of being born into the world already began.

"My Alpha!" My butler called out the minute he sighted me from a distance and ran towards me.

He tried to take Melody from my hands but then I gave him a warning gaze and he let her be but instead tailed behind me. "Sherie!" I called out on top of my voice as I walked into the living room and then made my way to the passageway that led to Sherie's room.

"My Alpha." The old lady answered as she walked out of her room but then opened the door wide when she saw me with someone.

"How did this happen?" She inquired as I dropped Melody on the bare floor.

"I don't know, it's obvious that she was shot with an arrow containing wolf bane." I replied with my hands in my pants pocket.

"Ohh, poor thing, though, a wolf scent is just a little on her, is she perhaps a hybrid or..."

"Enough of the questions Sherie, you wouldn't want her dead, would you?"I inquired and she looked down at her feet and I walked out of her room.

Even as old as she may appear, she's still good at what she does with the herbs though she isn't a trained healer. When I was young, she was the only one that wasn't afraid of me even when I almost ripped her head off. She was a mother figure to me and I'm forever grateful to her for coming into my life.

I walked to the dining area and my butler followed suit immediately and dished out food for me. "Thanks."I muttered as I began to munch down the delicious food.

After eating I made my way to my room and then to the bathroom, I took off my clothes and walked to the shower and turned it on and let the water wash off the day's stress. The fact that Logan had the audacity to collide with some of the elders against me, is still an outstanding problem that needs my urgent attention. But then if I go to my Pack with the surging anger in my heart, my action would be ripping off the elders heads and that would save me the time to debate on baseless matters.

Walking out of the bathroom, I took a black brief and pants and put them on. I walked to my window frame and stood. My main reason for building a house here is because of the peace its view brings to me. Staring down at the mountains and the tall trees that stood without a care in the world. Then there's the pod by the hill, that makes this whole area more serene. Just then I saw an arrow that flew towards the window.

"The fuck!" I cursed under my breath as I paddled out of my room.

I walked out of the living room and was embraced by the cold eerie breeze of the night. I looked around but couldn't see or sense anyone, I walked towards a particular tree whose growth is slanted of all the trees here. Then I saw a writing on its body with red ink.

"I found you, little brother."
