Chapter 6 No.6

Ethan stared at Ava for a long time without uttering any word.

"What? You have been staring at me since," Ava asks, breaking the silence.

"Nothing, he replied with a shrug.

"For real?" Ava raised her brow.

"I am serious," Ethan winked.

"Thanks for the ride, though," Ava said, and Ethan nodded.

Ava smiled, waving at him, and Ethan ignited the car back to life.

Noah left her in school, and she had no choice but to follow Ethan.

She opened the door, and her eyes met with Noah, who was standing without any expression.

Her heart beat faster as her eyes locked with his, and Noah broke the eye contact, smirking.

"I saw you with him," he said, and Ava bit her lip guiltily.

"You are free to be friends with him," Noah said, making her pop her eyes at him.

Noah chuckled, looking at her reaction.

"OMG," she screamed, hugging him tightly.

Noah left her to do her thing without breaking the hug.

"You are the best brother ever," she said cutely.

Noah pecked her cheek, and she felt goosebumps immediately as his lips touched her cheeks.

She blinked repeatedly, looking at him.

"Am I too handsome?" Noah grinned.

"Handsome, my foot!" Ava scoffed, and Noah chuckled.

"But you were staring at me just now," he teased.

"No, I wasn't. There was something at your back. Ava said.

"My back? Noah turned back.

"Croak roach!" Ava pointed, and Noah screamed, running to her back, shivering.

"I hate that shit," Noah said, panting heavily.

"It'd surely be a good gist for students of Bradford College that their almighty Noah, whom they all worship, is scared of cockroaches, or what did you think?" Ava teased.

"You dare not," Noah warned.

"Watch me do it, Ava said, sticking her tongue out.

"You don't even have a phone, so why should I be bothered?" Noah rolled his eyes.

"I'd make use of my friend's phone," Ava said, running.

"I'd kill you with my bare hands," Noah said, chasing her, and a smile crept out of the corner of his mouth.

Mia snuggled into her pillow crying; the scene of how Reed spoke to her kept on replaying in her mind.

"Why can't he notice her? Is she not beautiful enough?"

She has been crushing on Reed right from their first year till now, and now he shattered her heart into pieces on the very first date she was able to talk to him.

Her phone dinged beside her, and she wiped her tears to read her message.

She hissed when she saw it was a message from Paige.

She clicked on it, reading it.

ARE YOU ALRIGHT? SHOULD I COME OVER?" She read without replying to her.

She lay back on the bed, covering the duvet on her body.

~

"Perfect," Ethan muttered, looking at and admiring his handiwork.

He smiled at his drawing, feeling overwhelmed with the perfect drawing of Ava.

He sighed sadly, mesmerised by how his life changed drastically after telling his dad his interest in being an artisan.

He dropped the drawing, chuckling, bringing out his phone to call her, and then he remembered she doesn't have a phone.

Mr Thompson barged in, and his eyes landed on the drawing.

"What's this nonsense all about?" He fumed trying to take it, but Ethan was quick enough, throwing them under the bed.

"Give it to me," Mr Thompson yelled.

"I am not giving it to you," Ethan said stubbornly.

"You can't stay in the same house with me if you can't obey me."

"Fine then, I would leave this f**king house of yours if that would make you happy." Ethan slammed; Mr Thompson's eyes flickered .

Ava got down from the car, and all eyes fell on her.

She was wearing a daring outfit – a matching short skirt and crop top in a bold, fiery red colour. The skirt hugged her curves tightly, and the crop top showed off her toned midriff, and her outfit was the perfect reflection of her bold personality.

Noah himself couldn't stop stealing glances at her in the car.

"She looks hot."

"I love her dressing."

"Sophia can't match her beauty."

"I'm definitely rooting for her, honestly," the student gushed at her.

Ava continues walking, ignoring all their comments.

"My babies," Ava called, hugging Paige and Mia.

"C'mon, don't choke me," Mia muttered, pushing her lightly.

"Are you still mad at him?" Ava asks.

"I couldn't stop thinking about it, Mia mumbled.

"Forget about him; he is a scumbag." Paige patted her.

Sophia and her friend Monica walked over to them.

"Bitch", Monica said hatefully.

"Who's talking? Paige asks, looking at Mia.

"I can't see them; I think they are invisible." Mia rolled her eyes.

"I don't have your time and you," Sophia said, glaring at Ava.

"Stay away from my man. He is taken, and he is mine." She said icily, and Ava scoffed.

"What if I don't? What'd you do?" Ava asks in an akimbo.

"You won't like the consequences, trust me."

"Empty threat", Mia and Paige chorused.

"Be warned," Sophia muttered, walking away.

"Losers," Monica spat, following her.

"I hate her like, damn it." Paige shook her head.

Ava stood, her mind already far away.

~

"I haven't seen my cutie today; where is she?" Reed asked, frowning at Noah.

"Ask Google," Noah replied.

"Whatever", Reed shrugged.

Sophia entered with Monica trailing behind her.

"Oops, our lapdogs are here," Reed said sassily.

"Watch your mouth." Sophia rolled her eyes at him.

Monica watched Reed with keen interest, no doubt. He is the most handsome guy she has ever come across; not even Noah could compete with him.

"Stop drooling like a starved dog," Reed said.

"I wasn't drooling," Monica said, feeling embarrassed.

"Says...."

"Enough." Noah cut Reed off.

"Why are you here?" Noah asked, looking at Sophia.

"I'm here because of you," she snapped at him.

"Why?" Noah queried.

"I have missed you a lot," she pouted, sitting on his lap, and she pecked his cheek, grinning.

"Don't blind me, please," Reed said grimly.

"You can excuse us then," Sophia said.

Reed grimaced at her before walking away.

"What are you still waiting for?" Sophia asks.

"Sorry", Monica replied, leaving.

Sophia looked at Noah, locking their lips together and sliding their tongues into each other's mouths.

"Mmmn", Sophia moaned into his mouth, enjoying it.

Noah kissed her back, not enjoying it.

"Noah..." Ava called heartbreakingly, running away.

Noah's eyes flung open when he heard her voice.

He broke the kiss, pushing Sophia away from him.

"What's wrong? C'mon, let's continue," Sophia said, trying to kiss him again.

"Get out," Noah said.

"Huh?"

"Get out!" Noah yelled, making her flinch.

"Fine, I'd leave," she mumbled, leaving, not without blowing a kiss at him.

"Fuck," Noah muttered guiltily.
