Gwen turned, her heart clenching as she locked eyes with Oliver.
He was standing at the doorway, looking exhausted from the long day at work, but the exhaustion on his face was nothing compared to the disdain in his gaze as he looked at her.
"What on earth are you doing here, Gwen, raising your voice at my wife again?"
"Your wife?"
Gwen echoed after him.
"Oh, he called her his wife."
She repeated, shaking her head in disbelief. It felt like a sharp rod was being passed through her throat.
She gulped, searching for the right words, but before she could say something, Leticia cut in.
"What else is she here for if not to cause more troubles, and maybe more damage."
"You know why I'm here, don't even pretend like you don't know."
Gwen cut in immediately, shutting Leticia up.
Her eyes flamed red as she laid a sad gaze on Oliver.
"I'm here because your mother paid heavily to buy my license spot. Right now I can't renew my license because of your mother."
Oliver's expression darkened.
"How is that possible?"
"Join me to ask this drama queen, my son. She walked in here and accused me of such a horrible thing."
Gwen froze at the sudden switch, "you're denying it again?" Gwen asked in bewilderment, her throat becoming dry.
"Listen, Gwen. Pushing down my wife is a cruel act, check properly, maybe that's why your license was denied."
Oliver stated. He stepped closer to Gwen, his voice eerily calm.
"You deserve everything that's happening to you, Gwen. You're a cruel human being and I never want to see you again!"
His words felt like a sword to her chest, and she struggled to breathe.
"I know you never professed love to me. But, hate? You never showed me any signs of hatred, Oliver. What happened to you?"
Gwen's voice came softly, almost like a whisper. Tears had flooded her eyes, and now she couldn't hold it anymore.
Oliver was never like this.
It's true he never professed love to her, but he didn't sit and watch her be bullied.
Dr Lucas defended her more, yes, but Oliver still cared deeply.
Their love making sessions also showed that he could only be that way with someone he cared for to an extent.
Oliver pulled away from her immediately. Disgust filling his face.
"Don't ever touch me with these filthy hands of yours again!"
He turned away immediately, inhaling sharply and climbing the stairs to get into his room.
In his room, he reached for a drawer and took out a thick envelope and began to rush to the lounge.
"You never signed this." He said handing her the divorce papers together with the pen.
"Sign them now and leave my family alone."
Selina's eyes widened when she saw the brown envelope. "But you told me she signed it already?"
"I'm sorry baby, I didn't want you to worry. I knew she'd still sign it. It's over between us and nothing can change it."
He assured her.
Selina just nodded in excitement. She wished she had brought her phone downstairs to capture the moment.
Gwen's eyes trembled as she placed the papers on the table.
Tears burned in her eyes.
She couldn't believe that day later came.
The day she'd let everything go.
She was madly in love with Oliver, she still does, but, it was time to end it all.
She had to start putting herself first.
She signed her signature.
And dropping the pen, "what about my money?"
She asked, "the merged account?"
"There's no merged accounts, Gwen. You both are divorced now, so forget about whatever money you think you have in that account."
Leticia's voice came with a strong warning, and Gwen shook her head in protest.
"No, it's not. It can't be. It doesn't work that way."
She whispered, almost pleading.
"Oh, yes, it does."
"Ha ha ha, it does, ex wife.'
Selina chipped him, and this sent a bolt of rage to Gwen's spine.
She wished she could grab her and give her the beating of her life. At least, to answer the cruel names they have been calling her.
"Don't you speak, you foolish home wrecker!"
Gwen barked.
"Oh wretch, it's time to be out of my house!"
Leticia howled.
Grabbing Gwen's shoulder, she began to shove her to the door.
Gwen stumbled as she pulled her, "get out!"
Selina smirked, and stepping beside Leticia, she said, "you're lucky Sane wasn't around to create more videos. So if I were you, I'd get going immediately before she comes back."
This time, Oliver had gone upstairs.
He didn't want to spend an extra second looking at Gwen.
Everything that has been happening hasn't been easy on him, but he couldn't help it.
He was hopelessly in love with Selina and now she is back, every other thing was noise.
"What will the headline be this time around, uhmm...let's say, ...help me out, wretch!"
Selina mocked.
She was obviously enjoying the humiliation Gwen was getting, she rubbed her tummy again and said, "I can't wait to have my man, Oliver all to myself, and you know that our baby will be so charming."
"You wretch! You'll pay for this, you all will pay for this!"
Gwen cried, she lifted her head to see Oliver looking down from the balcony.
And for the first time, she didn't feel an iota of love emotions towards him.
All she felt was a burning rage, threatening to tear her heart apart.
"You'll surely regret this, Oliver! You will!"
Oliver didn't say a word to her. Even if he wanted to, there was nothing to say.
"Listen Gwen, stop creating a scene and leave here. And if you try to go to court for a single cent of the money, I'll make sure your life is a living hell!"
Gwen gulped hard.
Her chest, aching.
"You all will pay for this!"
She howled and with one last glance at the life she lost, she turned and walked away.
