Chapter 4 Where is Leo

Where is Leo?"

I asked after walking some distance and not seeing him anywhere.

We normally met after lectures and went home together. Luckily our lectures had always ended at around the same period and if it didn't, we waited till the other person was done.

"He left already, said he had to go practice for a match that is coming up soon". And it had been impromptu so he couldn't let you know earlier. Marcelina answered.

"I think he sent a text, you didn't see any?"

Kai added.

"Oh", I replied, feeling sad and dejected,. bringing out my phone to check. I hadn't had time to check my phone since I left Mr. Kyrios office, because I wasn't expecting anybody to text me,

I brought out my phone from my bag to check and true enough, his message sat there glaring at me, just as I was about to click on it, another pops in.

"Hey babe", "I haven't gotten a reply from you." Hope you aren't angry I left earlier, plus are you still in Mr Kyrios office." The message read.

Sighing, I clicked on the text moving on to reply to his messages, inhaling once more, pushing the sad feeling away, then concentrating my gaze on Marcelina and Kai once more.

"So..., what are your plans for today? "I asked, trying to sound happy.

Marcelina was opening her mouth to speak when a text came into my phone.

I brought it out, thinking it was Leo, seeing Mr. Kyrios name instead.

"Cancel all plans you might have, lesson starts today."

I turned around wondering if he had heard me asking my friends about plans or if it was coincidence, sighting him a few steps away from us, his face calm with no other emotion.

Either he was a fast walker or we were so slow because soon he had reached where we were, walking past us, giving each of us a smile, then heading off.

"So I didn't have plans, but now that you mentioned it. I and Malcolm promised to visit Aunt Margaret today, said she needed help with some things and we offered to do it today, if you would like to come along. I will fill in for Malcolm, besides we could use some extra hands.

Malcolm Vegas was or is Marcelina twin brother, and if not for the fact that they were of different gender I would have been mistaken them on a regular basis, they were that identical.

I had liked Malcolm for a while, dated in fact, but it only lasted for a week because soon we had discovered we were better of as friends, any form of intimate contact had felt like a sin, this had all happened before I met Leo and our relationship had remained a secret between us not even Marcelina knew.

Malcolm Vegas was another hot cutie with unique features and turned heads wherever he went.

"I have a project I want to finish, a work project. Kai was saying.

Talking about projects, my mind went back to the files that needed attention. I pulled out my cell once more to check if I had gotten a text from Mr. Everest. And sure enough I had, plus he had sent additional tasks for me to do.

I groaned silently, telling Marcelina I would have loved to go with her but something came up, turning to Kai to wish him luck then we parted ways.

I was going to have a chat with Mr Everest, with extra school activity I was going to have to ask him to cut the hours I worked for him.

"I had finished compiling the files and doing all the task sent by Mr. Everest.

I had also sent them to him and was getting ready to meet up with Mr Kyrios, though we had not discussed where we were going to meet, when I saw a message on my laptop screen blinking.

I stopped what I was doing with my hair, moving to my laptop. A video call from Mr, Everest was coming so also a message from Kyrios.

I clicked on the video call first to know what he had to say and also use the opportunity to tell him about the work hours.

Turned out the call wasn't for me, but that didn't stop me from telling him my plan.

He didn't seem to mind and the call ended quickly.

Next I dialed Mr. Kyrios telling him I was on my way and asking where we were going to meet.

He offered to pick me up from my apartment, but I declined. I wasn't really a fan of bringing people to my house except if we had reached a certain bond.

We had finally settled to meet in school first, then he would take me to where he had in mind.

The walk from my apartment to school was a long one which had left me tired and wondering why I had not boarded a bus or booked an uber.

I saw him seated on the hood of his car which he had parked by the site of the school gate.

I saw the slight look of anger pass across his face which quickly disappeared when he noticed me looking at him, replacing the look with one void of any emotion.

"You are late"

"I am so sorry sir." "I walked here, that's why I couldn't make it earlier", I replied to him, still breathless from the exercise I had embarked on.

"That is not an excuse miss Sophia", he responded in a way that made me feel small, then he moved to open the passenger seat for me.

"I am sorry Mr. Kyrios", I said once again, lowering my eyes to the ground, not before noticing that he had changed his outfit and was in something more casual.

I rested my head back on the seat, sliding slightly down from the seat so it would look like I was lying down.

"Get up, you are going to hurt your back", Mr. Kyrios voice rang through my hazy brain that was starting to close off in sleep.

"Don't tell me you were sleeping Miss Sophia". He added.

I stood up from my position looking at him sheepishly.

Shaking my head in the negative, denying what he had said.

"I wasn't", I finally responded.

"I was just stretching myself", I said thinking of what else to say when he looked at me, making me swallow what I had planned to say.

"We are here", he said suddenly, making me sit upright.
