Chapter 5 My Mate

Alpha Leonardo;

It's been 3 days and my pet is still stuck in my bedroom. She had refused to obey my order for her to reject my brother, and I wanted to see how long she could go when her father's life was at stake.

No reasonable being would pick the rubbish mate bond stuff over the life of a loved one. This was a golden opportunity for me to deal with the stupid brother of mine.

And beside, why would the Moon Goddess bestow a heartless Mafia, who had taken the lives of many as the fated mate of an innocent girl?

I know I am brutal, but my illegitimate brother, Vorgathy, was more deadly. His brutality had no limit and knew no one, not even family.

It's true Mafias betrayed themselves a lot, but our family, The Demarcos' was different. We believed in family bonds and hated betrayers. I feel it's a thing for us because we are the richest family in the whole of North America, and our lineage holds the royalty position of this pack.

Vorgathy's mother was my father's concubine, but she was lucky to conceive three years before my mother. Which made Vorgathy my elder brother. I'm 30 and he's 33.

The day Vorgathy found out that my father had arranged for me to be the next Alpha, he pulled some silver bullets into the brains of my father and mother. Killing my parents in just one night.

After the event, he vanished because I was ready to separate his head from his neck. But when he resurfaced four years later, I was shocked when some high-ranking members of our family protected him.

They even requested that I descend the throne. I knew Vorgathy had bribed those greedy old fools with money and position promises. That was the only language they understood.

However, I had some members who were very loyal to my father and decided to back me up in holding my position as the Alpha and the Mafia Boss.

The war of hierarchy had lingered for years but this time, it had become more brutal. I couldn't count the number of death threats I received every month. But I was waiting for them to show their faces. I don't give out threats, I'm a man of action.

I also wanted to withhold everything that belonged to Vorgathy, and I would start with his fated mate. I would make sure not to free her even after our marriage contract is over. Vorgathy would never have access to her or anything that has to do with her.

"Alpha, you are not picking up my calls, what is going on?" Lyrik called my attention, walking into my office.

"Didn't notice when my phone rang. What do you want?"

She halted her steps right in front of my desk. "When are you disposing of her?"

I slightly raised my brows and chuckled, "You took the contract to her, so I believe you are well-informed that I and my pet still have months to go."

"Alpha, you should have a rethink about your contract with that thing," she spitefully voiced out, dropping something on my desk right in front of me.

"I have warned you to stop addressing her as such if not I will rip off your tongue." I picked up what she dropped on my desk. It was a pregnancy strip with two red lines. "What is this, Lyrik?"

"I'm pregnant, Alpha."

I threw her strip at her, "Well, good luck with it." I fixed my attention on my work.

"I'm pregnant by you, Alpha," she slightly raised her voice at me. "And don't act like you don't remember," she added.

My eyes were still fixed on my work as I was uninterested in looking at her face. "Was it intentional? Our one-night stand?" I questioned her.

The event of that night suddenly replayed in my head. I recalled struggling to remember vividly everything that had happened when I woke up the next morning, seeing Lyrik lying on my body.

Some hours before that morning, Lyrik had walked up to me in the living room with two glasses of whisky. I was so mad at myself for giving my mark to a low life because I couldn't control my cock. So I needed something to ease my rage.

I took Lyrik's drink and downed it in an instant. I didn't know what happened afterward because I just found my cock hard and wanted to have sex with Lyrik.

I scanned through her body and she looked very sexy that night. I wanted her as well as she wanted me because she kissed me first. I dived her like a sex-starved animal, ripping off her clothes and having my way with her.

But why will she be pregnant over a one-night stand?

"Lyrik, so what do you want me to do about your pregnancy?" I finally raised my eyes, setting my gaze on her.

"Take responsibility, Alpha, like the real man that you are."

"What are they taking responsibility for?" A deep voice came from behind her, it was my Beta, Maximilian, approaching us.

"Greetings to you, Beta," Lyrik uttered, bowing her head. "I will take my leave now, Alpha," she announced and left my office.

"What responsibility was Lyrik talking about, Leo?" Max questioned, taking his seat in front of me.

Max was the only one who was permitted to address me by my name. He has been my best friend since childhood and he's now the Beta of our pack.

"Lyrik is pregnant for me," I responded, passing some files for him to assist me with the paperwork.

"So we are expecting an heir from her and she will be the Luna of this pack."

I let out a heavy sigh, "Luna? That is the least of my problems because I'm in heavy situations."

"Which are?"

"Lyrik and my Pet. I don't even know which one is worse right now between Lyrik being pregnant and me, marking the low life in my bedroom."

"You did what?" Max busted into laughter. "You are in a deep shit, man," he stated the obvious.

His phone buzzed and he scrolled through it, "My sister is finally here, Leo."

My jaw slightly dropped in surprise, "You mean Freya is back in the pack after many years? Where is she right now?"

"She is...." Before Max could finish his words, a fine scent that smelled like vanilla and rose tapped my nose, and I inhaled heavily. The scent was so perfect that I couldn't pay attention to any more words coming from Max.

Desire rushed through my body like streams of water, and I found myself wanting more of the scent.

Leo wiggled his tail in my head as the scent drew closer, and then a sudden cold crawled into my body when my eyes met with who it was.

I slowly rose from my seat, my gaze never leaving the most beautiful lady I had ever set my eyes on. "OUR MATE!" Red exclaimed, and my feet froze at the fact that my Beta's sister was my fated mate.
