Chapter 7 Sinister plan

Rome grabbed Dave by the collar, punching him hard in the face.

"Rome!!" Ophelia yelled trying to calm him, but he wasn't ready to let go. "I warned you"! Rome roared anger evident in his voice.

Ha...ha..ha and you expect me to listen when she is back. Dave replied with a sinister smile.

"And how is that her concern!" Dave, "Ophelia is not Celine". Rome reacted letting him go. He grabbed Ophelia's hand and they walked out of the restaurant hand in hand.

Dave clenched his fist hard, and all his eyes turned red. He grabbed his jacket and walked back out, entering his car he drove away a full speed.

Rome opened the door and pushed Ophelia in roughly, opening the driver's door, he entered and drove away a full speed.

Ophelia was trying to talk but he was speeding so fast that she wished she could vomit. Noticing the change in Ophelia Rome finally slowed down.

T..th.. thanks Ophelia said stammering she was trying to get her voice back together. She opened her mouth but was reluctant to talk.

"Speak!" Rome commanded without looking at her. It's not what you think, He saved my life.

That's why we are together. She declared eventually summoning her courage. And, What about the day he drugged you and was trying to rape you.

Rome conveyed trying not to be too cold. I guessed he did that just to provoke you, to me he seems to be a good person. Ophelia said courageously.

"You guessed?" Do you know my brother more than I did? Dave is just a chameleon and a cunny person, no one knows him more than I do? Rome replied already provoked.

We can't always judge a book by its cover, He might have done something to make you lose your trust in him but trust me, people do change. Ophelia asserted pitifully.

You trust Dave that much only because you met him once, but I prayed you never end up in his scheme one day.

Ophelia Dave is my blood brother am not doing all this because I hate him, I just want him to learn. Rome said plainly. Ophelia just smiled without saying a word.

I told you we need to go somewhere today but you already left home when I got there this morning, which means we are going tomorrow. There is no room for another mistake. Do you understand? He expressed.

Yea, Ophelia replied.

On getting back to the mansion, he dropped her and only said a word. "Stay away from Dave," he said honestly before driving off leaving Ophelia hanging.

Ophelia was confused, the first day she got to the mansion she thought he left because he was working late.

But here she was again all alone, he left her hanging. She heaved a sigh of relief, finally with all the day's stress she was back home. Lying flatly on the huge bed, she let the darkness take over.

She woke up the next day to the sound of the door alarm waking her up. She gets off the bed still in her nightie and walks towards the door after confirming the person is Adrain she finally opens the door.

"Good morning!" she greeted. But he neither answered her nor replied to her. He handed a huge shopping bag to her, This is from Mr. Sinclair you are to get ready before 10:am he commanded with a cold glare.

"Okay!" Thanks, Ophelia said and wanted to close the door when he suddenly grabbed it.

Don't be too happy, wake up from your nightmare you can never be a wife in the Sinclair family. He enunciates.

"W..wh..what!?" Ophelia asked confused but he already disappeared into thin air. "What a weirdo" she cursed with a pout.

Getting back to the room she took her shower and checked the shopping bags that had been delivered by Adrain. Checking it, she saw a pair of heels, a short gown, and some simple accessories.

"Not bad!" she exclaimed. After getting dressed she walked to the living and was surprised to see Rome already seated silently.

How did you get in? She inquired surprised.

Did you forget this is my house he said before walking back out.

Oh! Ophelia let out before following him out. Where are we going? she asked trying to stabilize her position.

You don't have to ask, you will know when we get there. He proclaimed with a nonsmiling smile.

The drive was so quiet with nobody communicating with each other. Eventually, they arrived in front of a big mansion. "Where is this ?" Ophelia asked confused.

"The Sinclairs mansion," he said with a faint smile.

"What!" I should have brought a gift if I was visiting your parents, Ophelia exclaimed annoyed.

"You are taking it seriously" Remember this is just a contract marriage. He said and got out of the car he opened the back door and brought out a gift wrapped in a full box.

My grandfather only loves tea, as for my parent they don't need a gift he said handing her the gift. He went in and Ophelia followed him respectfully.

On entering the house they caught sight of an old man sitting comfortably on a wooden chair, he held his stick tightly with a Cold face. He held a newspaper with his second hand reading it seriously, The air was heavy with the scent of old parchment and the faint aroma of tobacco seized the air.

Noticing the guest he slowly raised his head, adjusting his glass he saw his handsome grandson with an unknown lady standing by his side.

"Seems like" all the Sinclair family are Cold Ophelia said internally, hiding her face behind Rome.

Rome bowed with respect, greeting his grandfather. Ophelia joined in and followed in his step.

So you finally brought the right one, Granny Sinclair said standing up on his feet. He raised his stick and beat Rome hard with it, Ophelia was shocked that she was already shivering in place.

You unfillal grandson, how could you and your brother keep stirring up trouble, you can't even control your brother yet you want to control a woman. He growled loudly.

Rome didn't say a word, he just stood in place and let the old man flogged him. When old man Sinclair was finally pleased, he walked towards Ophelia, she moved back with fear and almost stumbled on her feet when she felt huge arms guiding her.

Looking back she saw a man with a little gray hair, he had a striking resemblance with Rome and Dave. He helped her back up and placed a hand on her shoulder, "Don't worry he will only beat him he assured. Before walking back to sit next to the Old man's chair.

Greetings Father Rome said bowling again.

"That's for me right" Old man Sinclair said extending his hands towards Ophelia.

Y..yes sir Ophelia replied still in a daze. She gave him the tea still shaking all over.

"Good!" he replied with a smile and went back to his seat. Rome followed his suit and sat opposite him.

"Come here!" daughter-in-law. Mr. Sinclair said extending his hands towards Ophelia. Without thinking twice she rushed towards him and sat by his side. After all, he is the only person smiling at the moment as the old man and Rome are busy glaring at each other with a cold glare.

"What is your name little girl," The Old man asked still maintaining eye contact with Rome.

Ophelia sir, she replied with a smile. He was about to ask her another question again when two ladies stumbled into the room with shopping bags.

One was Celine and the other woman was older. Seems like she is Rome's mother. Celine rushed towards the old man kneeling in front of him respectfully she handed over a pack of tea to him.

The Old Man also praised Celine a lot for her new achievement of becoming the new director of "The Silver". "Mom!" This is my wife Ophelia Rome finally talked making everyone stop what they were doing and looked, at Ophelia.

"Mtttchew!" Mrs. Sinclair hissed and stumbled inside the house. Her husband followed her and Rome stood up to receive a call outside.

Leaving Ophelia, Celine, and the Old man in the room. Neglecting, Ophelia the two continued their conversation.

After a while, the old man said he had a gift for Celine and he went up to bring it. Ophelia stood up and walked out already irritated, she walked around the mansion and finally stopped when she saw a pool.

She sat down and enjoyed the cool breeze.

"Looks like you still didn't know your place," Celine said sitting beside Ophelia.

Am not here for you, so just mind your business and I will mind mine. Ophelia proclaimed standing up.

Do you know what this is? Celine said as she was holding a box and standing at Ophelia's back.

"And am I supposed to be curious ?" Ophelia replied turning back annoyingly.

"This is me and Rome's engagement ring" The love and the vow we once shared. Celine enunciate with a smile.

"How is that my concern?" Celine am not in for your pranks. Ophelia yelled.

It's your concern because you will be the one to put us back together Celine said with a smirk.

"What? Ophelia declared trying to understand but it was too late as Celine placed the box in Ophelia's hand and fell into the pool. Hitting her head against the deck blood spilled everywhere.

"Ahhhhh!" Ophelia screamed attracting everybody's attention in the house.
