Chapter 3 An encounter with Dave

Milana couldn't contain her excitement when the men who came to scatter their house and took Ophelia came to apologize, they even took care of their mother's burial.

They also changed her school to one of the top 10 Universities in America. It's her dream school yet she is going there without paying a dime.

She kept pacing up and down waiting for Milana she couldn't wait to ask her all the questions that were troubling her mind.

"Little Milly"! Ophelia yelled upon seeing her sister, Milana ran towards Ophelia cheerfully.

The duo embraced each other as they walked hand in hand inside the house. What about mother? Ophelia asked as they settled down.

The guys from before took care of her burial and they said "It's from your husband. However, why didn't you tell me about your marriage, Ophelia?" Milana asked, her voice breaking as she held Ophelia's hands.

"He even changed my school, and promised to pay all my fees until I'm done, you didn't even inform Mom. Ophelia, at a loss for words, gently hushed Milana to stop crying.

She promised not to keep any secrets from her again. Ophelia patted Milana to sleep and promised her to always be by her side. She was to leave for her new school the second day so Ophelia urged her to sleep.

After Ophelia was sure that Milana had slept she went outside to get some fresh air, she was confused about what the do. Rome promised to make her suffer if she declined so she is out of choice.

Just when she was about to go back to bed her phone beeped. She opened it and saw a message from an unknown number. "I will pick you up tomorrow" from Rome.

Ignoring the message she went to bed. The next day came in a flash Ophelia escorted Milana to school and helped with everything necessary before going back home.

She was about to get in when a black sleek car parked by her side. The glasses rolled down and she heard an authoritative voice, "Get in". Without thinking twice she knew it was Rome. I need to get my belongings she said trying to explain.

You don't need any luggage just get in came the voice again. Ophelia looked at her house once again before getting inside the car obediently.

She looked at the person beside her and it turned out to be another guy from only God knows where. "Who are you? Ophelia asked surprised.

The guy merely looked at her and smiled without saying a word. "Who are you? Ophelia annoyed asked him again. "Sorry did I scare you sister in law? The guy replied with a smile.

He even did all that for your family so he must be so serious about you. "Anyways am Dave Sinclair Rome's younger brother". And why are you picking me up and not Rome Ophelia asked cutting him off.

"Why don't we have a drink first?" Dave replied with a smile pouring her a wine. "Answer my question! Ophelia yelled at the top of her voice. Already irritated by all the tricks.

"I won't give you any answer unless we have a drink". Dave said simply and sipped some of his whine. Ophelia gave him some deadly glare for a while before quietly taking a sip.

"Can I get an answer now"? Ophelia asked again after dropping the glass. "Not until you finish the whole glass", Dave replied without looking at her face.

"Are you toying with me now? Ophelia yelled again but her question went unanswered because Dave just merely glanced at her without saying a word. She bit her lower lips annoyingly and sipped all the whine at once. "Am done".

She said but suddenly she felt her vision getting blurry. "You! What did you put in my drink?" she demanded before eventually losing consciousness.

He looked at Ophelia as she lost consciousness. "What a good day it is he said plainly with a faint smile.

Suddenly his expression darkens and his face changes from that of a cheerful person to a cold-hearted person without any emotions.

Seeing this his driver increased the speed without being told.

Rome was about to leave the company premises when he remembered he had to pick up Ophelia.

He entered the car and was about to start driving when he saw 6 missed calls from his mother. "Oh, she is finally going to apologize he said with a faint smile before dialing her number.

"Hey, son she yelled after picking it up. So you are not going to apologize he declared getting annoyed.

Son that aside I have a piece of good news and trust me you will love it she said sounding happy on the other end.

"What is it? Rome replied trying not to be provoked. "Guess what? Celine is back, remember she is now a big hit and a popular musician, she called me mother today in front of my friends making me proud.

She is willing to get back with you Rome, you just have to inherit your grandfather's entertainment industry and gain his trust then you will be his only most valuable grandson.

Rome this is a great opportunity, am over the moon she exclaimed cheerfully but she was surprised she got no response from Rome.

Hearing the name he tightened his grip on the phone and slowly dropped the phone.

Rome! Rome!! "Are you there? What's happening? Mrs Sinclair kept on yelling before he finally cut the call.

He hits the car steering in anger and his face turns red instantly.

Suddenly his phone beeped and he took a look at it only to see a text message from Dave.

"Save the girl if you can?"

He picked up the phone and texted back.

"Dave, not that girl she is innocent stop playing games with her".

"You got 1 hour if you are a minute late then she is gone". Dave replied plainly before switching off the phone.

Fuck!! Rome shrieked with gritted teeth, he gripped the wheel, driving with fierce intensity. The car roared as he sped through turns, tires screeching and dust trailing behind.
