Chapter 5 AN EMPIRE FOR A LIFE.

"So what do you have me do to him?" Ayla asked Jayson, seriously looking at him and wanting to get all the reasonable words he was trying to speak out.

Jayson cleared his throat. "I am only going to tell you t, his and if I am in your position, and this is what I am going to do."

He said well on the couch putting down his designed laptop and paying full attention towards Ayla.

"Why don't you ignore him for a while and see if he would be back to his senses? What about that?"

Ayla had those words in her heart and held so much unto it.

At work.

It looks so much like the brightest day for Ayla. Her father is well, and she has nothing much to worry about except for the changes she has been hearing from the company's board of management.

Until she saw a lady walk majestically into the company in an exotic car.

She immediately pressed the signal and security buttons and put a call through

"Hello, is that our client? I didn't organize a meeting for today; what's going on?" she asked the security personnel.

"We are sorry, ma'am; we were equally shocked until Mr. Lucas asked us to let her in," the security personnel responded.

She wasn't so surprised. "All right, if that's the case, thank you; I only want to confirm who the person came for."

Ayla was on her way to submit a file that Lucas had requested when she met Laura Dawson inside the elevator.

"Hi, good morning", Ayla greeted with a smile.

Unfortunately for her, Laura correctly ignored her.

"Do you work here?" Laura asked, checking her wristwatch and chewing her gum so loud.

As Jayson explained, the discomfort was written all over Ayla's Dave, but she had no choice but to be friendly.

Even though she burns so hot in her inner self, she has to play it to bring out the best in the company.

"I am here to see your boss. Carry my bag and follow me," Laura said to Ayla.

It was looking all like a joke to Ayla,

"Do not let my bag touch the floor, and you would work like a slave for the rest of your life to afford that."

Ayla quickly grabbed the bag to avoid any trouble or damages that would cause the company to fall off track.

"It's a Zara back; I went to the company for it to be specially made for me; it costs $3,000,000, right?" she said further as they both stepped out of the elevator.

Ayla said nothing but looked at her to avoid her being angry and flaring up.

"I want to get to his office on time and drop this godforsaken abg in my hands," her inner mind spoke as she almost lost her patience.

Almost all the workers saw Ayla carrying Laura's bag, but due to the respect they accord her, all the effort was for one of them to collect it from the probed abortive.

"If you dare come near my bag, I will sue you and make you rot being bars." She said these words to them if anyone came close to help Ayla.

Just in front of Lucas's office, the documents Ayla was holding fell, and all the papers flew apart.

Immediately Lucas saw this he stood up from his sofa chair having, rolling it in an anti-clockwise direction.

"How dare you barge into my office like that?" he asked Laura. "And you, what are you doing on the floor?" he was speechless, seeing Ayla handling Laura's bag and all the documents scattered on the floor.

Laura, still chewing her gum loudly. "Aren't you happy to see me? I came here purposely because of you," looking at the office in a disgusting way.

"You need to renovate this place; it looks so much like an old man's stuff, ew; you know I can help you with that, right?" Laura asked, looking at Lucas and waiting for his answers.

Ayla managed to put herself together. "I will be back with the explanation of the document when your guest is gone; this company is still a priority to me," she said, leaving the office and holding the brown file with her.

"What have you come to do here? I didn't invite you?" Lucas asked Laura.

He managed to feel comfortable by pulling off his suit jacket.

"Hey, don't you want to see me here with you? Then I will take my leave."

As Laura was about to take her leave, Lucas stopped her. "No, no, no, I am not saying you should leave or something; I just have a slot on my head," he remembered what his father had told him about Laura's Father.

In his father's echo.

"If you marry her, then the contract is sealed." After replying, "Father, what if I don't want her?".

There was silence afterward; his father had said his final statement, and he didn't need an excuse.

Laura smiled as she already turned to the door, turning herself back at Lucas in her red gown.

"How do you think our kids will look like when we get married? You won't have to work anymore," she said.

Lucas hates the sound of that; his father has kept him in proper check of an alpha man since the onset.

He remembered what his father told him: "When you see her, make sure you seal the multimillionaire deal and don't let it slide."

"Oh, at least I forgot I have got something to discuss with you," Lucas said as he looked at Laura with a captivating smile.

That was what Laura had been waiting for over a while.

"Ask me anything, and I will give it to you in as much I have it," Laura said, looking straight into Lucas's eyes.

"The multimillionaire deal" Lucas responded.
