Lucas kept pacing around the office.
"I need a change of this place; this chair doesn't suit me," he murmured to himself.
"Are you in any way talking to him?" Ayla asked him.
Making her face straight, speaking so sharply to him.
Lucas turned in the direction of Ayla. "I was about to ask, do you use this chair here or for security?"
Ayla held her peace so much and didn't want their first encounter in the office to be a mess.
She figured out that she held her palms together. "Yes, I use that, and that is what I went to the office to continue using," she sounded in a bossy tone.
Lucas giggled as he pushed the chair with his left leg. "But that can't be possible anymore; it's new people, new rules.
Ayla would want to object, but she remembered the rules of what she had signed.
She had to hold her peace for a moment before knowing what was next to say.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
"Did you invite anyone to come see you in the office?" Ayla asked Lucas as she looked at him with surprise. "It's your first day, for God's sake; you don't do things that way; it doesn't look professional.
Lucas tried to mimic her. "Oh, I don't do things that way. It's not professional," he laughed in a mockery way.
"Now tell me how this looks professional, sitting on a chair filled with bedbugs?" Lucas said, looking straight into Ayla's eyes.
Ayla's mouth was wide open.
"Do. Do you just say my father bought a bedbug ad chair?" Ayla asked Lucas.
As they continued taking, there was another knock on the door.
"Come in," Lucas finally answered, who had been knocking.
Then comes the company secretary, coming in with a brand-new cushion chair.
Ayla stared at the secretary and spoke to her, "I hope they were deducted from his share and not the company's share.
The secretary only signaled by looking straight into Lucas's face.
"Hey you, finish up the files and bring them to me; you can go," Luxas commanded the secretary.
Ayla is looking at the loss with what is happening.
"You want to know if I did this with the company's money or mine?
"I can decide to do with whichever way I own both, remember?" Lucas asked Ayla.
He pushed the old chair close to Ayla, "You can now have your sit and let's talk."
Ayla reluctantly sat on the chair and looked around the office, discovering that some pictures had been replaced from her father's to Lucas's.
"You should have done better and at least left a legacy for the owner himself; you don't seem human," Ayla battered at Lucas.
Lucas looked at her in a disgusting way.
"I see why the company hasn't gone far in your hands. "you talk too much, and I don't."
"Whays on the table, I want to know as it stands now," Lucas presumed, but that word alone pierced into Ayla's heart, but she couldn't say much.
"There is nothing new to discuss, new client and new demands; I will be waiting in the conference room for the meeting," Ayla said as she stood up and headed to the meeting room.
Lucas looked at her. "No slides for your boss, no careful manner to ask if I need anything. You know I am right, so treat me like one," Lucas exclaimed.
Ayla lingered on the way, looking not too comfortable.
She bent down to adjust her shoes.
"Seems you wore the devil's shoe today. It's not too bad; make sure you can walk in it," he summoned.
He twisted his words and said, "I want a coffee; the conference needs to do well, make the coffee well," Lucas added.
Ayla looked at him, but she could do nothing at the time.
She stepped out of the office, slammed the door, and walked off, and the sounds of her heels still sound even from afar.
This place doesn't look as furnished as an office as I would like to be. I would send it to be so furnished.
In the conference.
Ayla stood up to make her first speech
"Good morning, sir/ma. This message will be passed through because it's so important." She was about to go further when she heard a box.
"Kindly sit down; I will raise it from there.
All attention was taken away from Ayla and now to Luxas, who happens to be sitting on the seat meant for Ayla.
Not everyone on the seat knew what was going on, but only Luxss and Ayla did
