Chapter 3 Part 2

I was shocked as I stared at Mike. It was almost midnight, and Mike was sending me away at such a terrifying hour.

How can he even expect me to go out late when I'm still in the first stage of my pregnancy?

"I won't be signing this; if you want me to sign this sh*t of a paper, then go get both our parents present.

They decided on this marriage, and they were both present when we got married, so get them present when we'll be getting a divorce," I insisted, standing my ground as I glared at him back.

I hated what was about to happen. I hated the fact that Mike was acting like this. Why should he do this to me? How is body shaming me going to benefit him?

And speaking of big boobs and arses, aren't mine good enough? I don't want to doubt if my body is sexy enough, but Mike's statement is making me doubt the sexiness of my own body.

A lot of guys were also after me, trying to covet my heart. But I knew that most of them were after my body.

So why was Mike not like those fellow men? Why does he think I'm the worst? Does he even know that calling me ugly makes me despise myself?

"Shit!"

Mike turned around, and I gasped as he suddenly turned back and grabbed me by the neck he squeezed the life out of me.

"Do you not understand what I mean? I hate seeing you. I can't tolerate your old-fashioned style. I feel nauseous when I'm around you. You smell awful, and I want to puck: Damn it, you're the ugliest woman to enter my life.

And that useless bitch you are carrying with you in that God-forsaken womb of yours is the greatest and biggest mistake of my life," he spat, throwing me to the floor like I was nothing but a bag of trash.

I crashed against the center table, and my body trembled. I was frightened and furious. I don't care about anything, but I won't let him insult my child, and I won't take shit from anyone against my child.

Tears flowed from my eyes as my tummy began aching badly. I choked as the pain increased, and just when I was about to speak up, Mike let out a throaty laugh.

"You look so pathetic," he mocked, eyeing my sorry state.

"Only a simple fall and you are already crying like a freaking fool. You are a weak lady who can never and will never match my standard.

So here's a piece of advice for you: get your arse outta my house before I return; otherwise, you won't want to know the result," he snorted before stomping out.

"Mike," I called out, but I couldn't seem to be able to speak. My head was beginning to spin, and I felt light-headed.

I tried standing up, but I couldn't as the lower part of my body was seriously aching. I held onto my stomach, feeling my breathing become difficult.

God no! Not now; my asthmatic attack can't be coming at such a dire hour.

My sight was turning dark as if I was about to go blind. With all the strength I could muster, I gripped the chair and wobbled my way to the vanity in the living room drawer.

I hardly ever get an asthmatic attack, so I don't go around with my inhaler. I just leave one in the bedroom, study room, and living room.

I got to the vanity drawer, and when I was just about to open it, my legs gave out and my sight went black. Instinctively, I pulled out the inhaler, uncapped it, and took several puffs from it.

Minutes later, my breathing was becoming steady, and my sight was slowly returning. Sweat covered my entire body, but the throbbing in my belly wasn't reducing; instead, it hurt even more.

Tears splattered from my eyes as I couldn't feel any part of my body. Every part of me has gone numb.

For the first time in my life, I felt utterly helpless. I didn't bring my phone downstairs, and Mike must not have seen it, so he didn't bring it along with my luggage.

Then I remembered the house landline; I could call the security agents. But I couldn't tell in which part of the living room the landline was installed, as we rarely used it.

"What have I done wrong, dear God? Why are you punishing me for the sin I don't remember committing?" I lamented.

My vision became clearer, and I wiped the tears from my eyes. I looked around the large sitting room and finally caught sight of the telephone.

I tried getting up from the ground, but the sharp pain came again, and this time, the pain was five times what I had earlier felt

My eyes flew wide open as I caught the sight of blood oozing down my legs.

"Oh! No! My baby!" I shouted, not knowing where I got my voice from.

I didn't even know how I suddenly felt strong despite the pain, but I ran out, limping as I got to the door.

I shot the door and hurried through the entrance, but the blood kept flowing and the pain was increasing.

My asthmatic attack seemed to be ready to hook up with me when I got to the elevator. Thankfully, there was no other person in the elevator, and soon I got to the ground floor.

I didn't know if it was a curse or not, but there was nobody in the hallway.

I continued limping over to the clinic that was located in the skyscraper next to my complex in a blood-soaked nightgown.

My vision instantly blacked out, and then a car honked loudly as it drove into the vicinity, but I couldn't move.

My legs were rooted to the ground, and my head was dizzy, coupled with my blackout sight.

Bang!

The screeching halt car sound in front of me and then a bone-crushing pain shooting from my abdomen were the last things I felt before falling unconscious.
