Chapter 8 PAST 2

LILY'S POV

"Zavier, do you remember Ava?" I asked Zavier.

"Yes, I do," Zavier responded. "If I may ask, what is she doing here? He asked a bit rudely.

"She's here to help me with my dress fitting," I said to Zavier. I couldn't believe that it was just two weeks left before my wedding.

Everything was in place. The theme was pink, my favourite colour and Ava was to be my bridesmaid. What was left was the bouquet.

"Since the dresser isn't here yet, Zavier, why don't we catch up with old times," Ava said, leaving me confused.

"Old times?" I questioned.

"Mmmh, yes, old times. After Zavier helped me with directions, we kept in touch, but after I came back from France, we lost touch." I was quite surprised.

Ava never told me about meeting anyone who gave her directions when she was in France.

The only thing she told me was that she had a boyfriend who broke her heart. I began to suspect.

"I need to hurry back to the office. We have an urgent meeting. I need to leave but I'll be back." Zavier said as he hurried out.

"Okay," I said to Zavier.

After Zavier left, I asked Ava the question that had been haunting me for quite some time now.

"Ava, when you once told me you had a boyfriend in France, you never mentioned his name or showed me a picture. I said to Ava.

"Yes, why did you bring that up right now?" Ava asked.

"Well, I've been thinking, is Zavier your ex?" I came out straight with the question.

"Heck no, what made you think so?" Ava questioned.

I shrugged and said: "I don't know, maybe you can tell me." I said to Ava with a raised brow.

"Lily, don't you trust me?" Ave asked.

"It isn't that I don't trust you," I said.

"Then what is it? Ava asked.

"Ava, let's just drop the topic, and I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that I don't trust you," I said to Ava and hugged her.

"Promise me you won't come up with such absurd thoughts again." Ava requested.

"I promise," I said.

"Pinky promise," Ave said.

"Pinky promise," I said as both of us broke into laughter.

"I will miss this," Ava said.

"I too," I said. "But we will still hang out. I am just getting married." I added.

"I know. But there will be little time to spend together." Ava said.

Before I could respond, we heard the doorbell it was the stylist.

Two hours later

We were done with our dress fitting, and Ava was ready to leave. As I saw her off, Zavier walked in.

"Am I too late," Zavier asked.

"You are not even supposed to be here, so why are you so worried about seeing me in the dress.?" I asked.

"I was asked to be here, and for your information, I was not planning to see you in the dress until the wedding day," Zavier said as I nodded.

"I have to leave now, Lily," Ava said.

"Okay," I replied.

"Bye Lily, bye Zavier," Ava said as she left.

"Bye." We both said at the same time.

"Zavier," I called.

"Yes, Lily.

"I would like to...." Before I could finish my sentence, Zavier received a call. After he hung up, he asked: "What were you saying?"

"Don't worry about it the call seemed important," I said.

"It is, I need to leave now," Zavier said as I walked him out.

"Catch you later," Zavier said as I waved him goodbye and went back inside.
