Chapter 5 CONVERSATION

LILY'S POV

Knock, knock.

I heard someone knocking on my door. I didn't ask who it was I just headed straight for the door when I opened it Zavier was standing right in front of my door.

"What do you want I asked?" I asked Zavier furiously.

"I just came to tell you, the faster you are in signing that paper 📃, the faster you'll start learning. And also as directed to tell you 'good night'." Zavier said as he started to walk away.

"Wait," I said to Zavier. He immediately stopped in his tracks.

"What?" He asked quite impatiently.

"I would like to ask you how you truly feel about all these marriage arrangements?" I asked.

"You said it yourself, it is what I do for a living so why should feel anything?"He asked.

"Or do you not believe what you told everyone.?" He asked sarcastically.

"Can you be nice for once in a lifetime?" I asked sternly, but sounded more like a plea.

He started walking closer, then cornered me.

"Who says I've not been nice to anyone in this lifetime?" He asked with his thick manly mafia voice.

"I knew it would come to this." He said.

"Come to what?" I asked feeling a bit uneasy what was he thinking and what was he going to do?

"Don't get your thoughts crossed." He said then freed me.

"I was talking about the contract." He said.

"What about the contract?" I asked

"The contract wasn't the main plan, it was a plan B," Zavier said to me leaving me confused. I had only one question in mind :

"But why, why present the contract when there's a plan A? What changed their minds?" I asked Zavier.

"Your reaction," Zavier said briefly.

"My reaction?" I asked.

"Yes, your reaction," Zavier said, making me puzzled.

"But how does my reaction have anything to this?" I asked the only thing I could think of.

"So if I may ask, what was plan A? I was eager to know what plan A was.

"The plan was that since there was not going to be affection in the marriage, since the marriage was not based on love you'd agree," Zavier said. "They also thought you'd see it from their perspective," Zavier added.

"Well, they thought you'd see it as a learning experience. But it turns out you are blind both physically and mentally." Zavier said looking straight into my eyes.

"Can you go a day without saying anything vicious to anyone, especially me?" I asked almost on the verge of tears.

"You don't have to go to the hotel, you can stay here there's room enough for everyone and it's already late." I heard my mum say to Elizabeth.

"Don't worry will come visit often," Elizabeth said to my mum and hugged her. Then she approached me as she saw me.

"Take care of yourself." She said and hugged me.

"Thanks for coming," I said as I hugged her back.

Derrick approached then said:

"Think about it." He said then he hugged me.

"Goodbye, for now, but think about it." He said then left.
