It was early morning. There was light sunshine outside, but there was no light in Aarav and Sia's hearts. The previous night the two had felt too far apart even when they were near each other. Aarav had appreciated Sia's love and support for her, but the insecurity in her was not over yet. That humiliating meeting in Sia's Maiden had hurt her self-esteem.
Aarav, sitting on the bed, looked at Sia, who was engaged in making breakfast in the kitchen. Sia had made tea for him as usual, but there was a strange silence on his face. There was an increasing distance between the two, which both felt, but no one was able to solve it.
"Arav, breakfast is ready," Sia said in a low voice.
ARV nodded yes and sat down to the table with a bemusement. He saw the parathas placed in front of him, but did not feel like eating. Sia was also sensing his mood, but there was nothing special left to speak between the two now.
"Sia, "Aarav said, finally breaking the silence," I have thought that from today I will give more time to look for a job. We cannot live like this, something has to be done."
Sia listened to him, but did not say anything. She knew that Aarav was trying, but the situation was watering down her expectations. He just said, " I'm with you, ARV. Whatever we have to do, we will do it together."
Arav looked into her eyes, and she got a glimpse of the faith that was hidden somewhere inside her until now. But this glimpse was very fleeting. Aarav took a cold breath and tried to finish breakfast.
After breakfast, Aarav leaves to visit his old friends, hoping that maybe someone can tell him something about a job. He knew it would not be so easy, but there was no harm in trying.
Sia was alone at home. She was watching Aarav leave, and a strange emptiness filled her mind. Since they married, she was also completely cut off from her family. Her mother called her several times, but each time she was alarmed by their taunts and questions. He knew that his family had still not been able to accept his marriage, and Aarav's unemployment had given them even stronger grounds to condemn Sia.
Sia decided to call her family today. He picked up the phone and dialed his mother's number. The phone was picked up shortly.
"Hello," came her mother's voice.
"Mom, I'm speaking sia," sia said softly.
"Yes, Sia, how are you? And how is your husband? His job?"The mother's voice was palpable.
Sia took a deep breath and said, "No mom, not now, but Aarav is trying."
"How long will you try, Sia? Marriage doesn't just run out of love. Money is also needed, and if he can't do that much, you have to think if you made the right decision."
Sia's eyes burst into tears, but she stopped them. She knew that her mother would never understand what great things love and trust were.
"Mom, I'm happy with ARV," Sia tried to make her voice stronger.
"Happy or trying to justify your decision?"His mother questioned. "Look Sia, your family never wants to see you sad. You can still come home. Your dad and I understand you. We want you to be happy in your life, and if Aarav is not able to give you that happiness, you should think."
Tears poured into SIA's eyes. He hung up without saying anything and dropped himself on the couch. His heart was filled with pain. She knew that her family was thinking about her good, but they had no idea of her love with Aarav.
The day was passing slowly. Aarav hadn't returned home yet, and Sia was waiting for him to arrive. Every sigh of the door of the House gave him hope that Aarav might have returned, but every time disappointment came to him.
The evening had begun to fall and finally the doorbell rang. Sia ran to the door and opened the door. Aarav seemed tired and disappointed.
"How was your day?"Sia asked, trying to bring a smile.
Arav took off his jacket and replied, "Nothing special. No one gave a concrete answer. Maybe just have to wait more."
Sia looked him in the eyes and said, "no problem, Aarav. We have to work harder. We will definitely get out of this difficult."
Arav gave a slight smile, but fatigue was clearly visible in his eyes.
During the night, the same silence broke out between the two. Both hearts were in pain, but there was no way to share it.
"Sia," Aarav said suddenly, " do you ever feel like we made the wrong decision?"
Sia's heart was shattered. He immediately tried to answer, but the words could not reach his lips.
Aarav looked at her and then advanced his point, "I mean, we both love each other, no doubt. But is love enough? If I look at your family, I think maybe I'm not the right man for you."
Sia interrupted him, saying, " ARV, don't say that. I love you and no one else can be better than you. Yes, things are against us right now, but I know we will overcome it."
Arav looked at him, and there was something in his eyes that was giving him a little relief. But there was still a sense of insecurity in his heart.
In the silence of the night, both passed the night under the burden of questions and worries in their respective hearts.
