Chapter 2 Shattered Bonds

Wilson, who was standing and listening to all that transpired was furious.

"What are you talking about you shameless daughter?"he roared, his voice thick with anger.

Juliana snorted, "The truth".

She indeed didn't expect that the woman that cheated would be Sarah, her sister. Originally thinking that it was just Alex betraying her in a fit of anger, he came up with this damaging trick to make her a fool.

But unexpectedly not only did her fiance cheat on her, but she was also cheated by her sister.

What the hell! Cathy exclaimed, her face contorted with rage.

She raised her hand to slap Juliana again when Lisa, who was beside her, quickly intervened, grabbing her wrist.

Cathy says what you have to say but don't hurt yourself, it is not good for you to get mad. Lisa pleaded, her voice calm and soothing.

Lisa turned to Juliana, her expression softening slightly.Don't make her angrier Juliana.

If this matter is Sarah's fault you can go and focus on her, just leave her alone.

That gentle and innocent look, Juliana thought, would have fooled anyone, if they didn't know better.

Juliana sarcastically queried the corner of her lips.

Her father, Wilson, saw her and became more angry. "You feel satisfied now, don't you?.

If you put your sister and your fiance behind bars!. You will make the Wilson family lose their relationship with the Smith family. Do you even know where you belong? Your sister is a star, what will she do in future if her image is tarnished?. Does she still be accepted in the entertainment industry?

Juliana looked at him coldly, " so, that's all you can think of?.

"They cheated and betrayed me!

She pushed back the tears that threatened to fall then she gave a mocking laugh.

Yes! I cannot keep a man, after all my mother was modest, not cheap and didn't snatch or sleep with other people's fiance.

I do not inherit that skill of seducing men, and I am not a prostitute like Sarah.

Lisa's face immediately turned pale;

The revelation hung in the air, heavy and suffocating. The truth, once hidden beneath a veil of lies and manipulation, had now been exposed, casting a harsh light on the Wilson family's dark secrets.

Grandma Cathy tried to intervene. "Enough!"

But Juliana wouldn't be silenced. She had spent years carrying the weight of their betrayal, and now she was determined to confront them with the truth.

"You sent me away, thinking I would just disappear," she said, her voice rising with each word. "You didn't care if I lived or died. But I survived. I found my own way, my own strength. And now, I'm not going to let you forget what you did."

Wilson, his face contorted with anger, roared, "You're a disgrace to this family! You're a failure!"

Juliana's eyes narrowed, her gaze unwavering. "I'm not a failure," she countered. "I'm a survivor. And I'm not going to let you define me anymore."

The tension in the room was palpable. The weight of years of unspoken truths, of betrayal and manipulation, hung heavy in the air. Lisa's eyes were filled with tears, reaching out to Juliana, but she pulled back, her heart hardened by the pain she had endured.

"I'm done with you," she said, her voice cold and distant. "I'm done with this family. I'm going to find my own happiness, my own peace.

With that, Juliana turned to walked away, leaving behind the remnants of her shattered family.

Wilson was so angry that he wanted to say something else, but Lisa pulled his arm next to her.

Juliana saw Mr. Andrew Smith leading Alex and Sarah out of the interrogation room together.

Sarah was holding onto Alex's arm, her face filled with grieving eyes, looking pitiful.

A crowd of people came forward eagerly concerned."Sarah? Are you okay? ".

Sarah shook her head and said softly

"I'm okay".

After saying that she looked up at Juliana who was standing behind the crowd.

"Sister" Sarah called her softly, coming up to her, looking at her guilty and tenderly.

"I'm sorry, we didn't think you had come over. We didn't mean it.please forgive us!

Juliana looked at her coldly, her face expressionless.

Andrew sighed and stepped forward and said, "This matter is our family's fault to you, but it has happened and there is no way to fix it. If compensation is needed, as long as you ask, we will definitely give you.."

"Compensation,Are you trying to pay or get rid of me with money?"

Andrew's face turned pale and a touch of guilt flashed across his eyes. He stared back at Alex and shouted angrily, "you've done it yourself, so why don't you come over here and say something or apologize.

"Juliana, we are not right for each other, let's break the engagement". Alex said angrily.

She felt like her world was shattered. Her heart felt it had been cut by a dull knife and was overflowing with hidden pain.

She already knew the outcome, but when the moment came, she couldn't stop feeling sad and a chill.

She looked at the man in front of her and curled her lips, her eyes turned red.

I never expected the five years of our relationship to be gone like that.

I caught you in an act, but there was no guilt, no redemption, not even an apology.

All you could say is that, "we're not right for each other. Let's break the engagement.

Juliana smirked her lips sarcastically and without hesitation she said, "okay, we can end it".

Alex was surprised at her firmness, He frowned and said. "Are you serious?"

"Yes, breaking off the engagement is fine, but I want those new Smith companies as compensation for me!.

"What? Are you crazy?

Wilson, her dad shouted out sharply

Juliana looked at him coldly, "why? Mr Andrew asked if I needed compensation and he would give me compensation for what his son did to me. Right?".

Okay! Andrew raised his hand, interrupting Wilson's words.

"I promise you your terms, and I'll pass the company to you, just bring the other half of the certificate.

"Okay deal!" she said.

Wilson left the place angrily, accompanied by Cathy, and Lisa.

There were only Juliana, Alex and Sarah left behind.

Juliana, who wasn't ready for another discussion, turned to leave behind Sarah 's calm voice calling her.

"Sister" she blocked her way in seconds.

Sarah had a pale face, sobbing as she held Juliana's leg , "I didn't mean to hurt you. I didn't mean to fall in love with Alex. Everything's my fault, you can blame me for that, If you want to."
