Chapter 4 Climb

Standing atop a cliff, looking down onto her village, dreaming of the safety it provided. Although she knew she had no time to waste, Jenny had to get back to her village as soon as possible. Hoping the monster had wondered off and left her alone. As to not succumb to her bodies exhaustion, Jenny looked over cliff for a way down. Seeing that the shortest route was strait down and the longest was to wrap around the mountain. Deciding between short and dangerous to long and safe, really made her puzzled on what was truly the best.

That was until she started to here limb crackling for behind her. Choosing the shortest way for her.

She knew what was coming for her, and with little time to spare, she started scaling the

Sprawling from hand grip to hand grip, she could now feel the vibration in every hand grip. And within a few moments, her worst fear had appeared. The beast towering over the cliff, sniffing the air; searching for Jenny's scent. Jenny was clinging to the side of the cliff in fear for her life. She didn't know if the monster would try and pursue her or if it would back off. She had no idea of what this wild beast would try and do if it caught a glimpse her. Until it seemed to back off the cliffs edge, giving her hope that it had finally given up. Until it let out a blood curdling roar, that could break the bravest of man's nerve. However Jenny knew she couldn't let her emotions guide her, she had to push down her fear to make sure she could make it down the cliff. Because if she failed now, she would never get to see her family again. This fueled Jenny to stay alive. To strive on farther to reach the bottom.

Gripping onto the cliff she started to make head way. Now closer to the ground then the top, her hope was lifting in her heart. With every stride down brought her closer to salvation. What seeming felt like and all night trip, she finally reached the bottom. Now only a short trip from the safety of her villages walls, Jenny could have been in a happier mood. However she still had this feeling that the danger wasn't over. And yet even with the complete exhaustion, and scraps and bruises all over her body, she knew she couldn't stop now. And with her finally reaching the villages gate, she collapses.
