Chapter 3 Fleeing

Drool dripping from this monstrosities mouth on her head. Quivering with fear, Jenny tries to figure out where to run. However, right before she was going to bolt, the monster lifts its head and starts heading over to the crater. With Jenny now free, she picks herself up and starts sprinting away from the monster. As she starts running, she looks back towards the direction of the monster and sees it ripping her backpack apart. Then in the next couple of strides, she realizes she has no idea how to get back to her home.

With all of her things scattered in the woods she has nothing to lead her back home. That's when she stops to gather her thoughts.

She chooses a giant tree to hide behind to catch her breath and to have something between her and the monster. As she stood in her own loathing, looking around to find her bearings, she notices a glimmering light through the trees. After noticing the lights, she doesn't hesitate and starts sprinting towards the lights. With limbs smacking her in the face and briars ripping up her skin, she pushed toward the shimmering lights of her salvation. With the lights filling out more of the horizon, she digs deep to push herself to safety. As more of the forest is left behind her, she could start to make out the silhouette of her hometown. And when she was on her last leg, she emerges from the woods to see her town in all it's glory. How ever with a dropping heart feeling, she could see she had one more hurdle before she was safe.
