Chapter 8
Melody was quickly fired.
As she packed her things, her face twisted with anger. "You're just bullying me because you're a celebrity."
"No matter how angry you get or how much you look down on me, Blaine and I will be together soon. By then, you'll be crying yourself to sleep!"
I stood to the side, a smirk playing on my lips. "Who are you trying to fool? Blaine is a best actor; he's seen all kinds of people. Do you really think your little tricks will work on him?"
"You!" Melody choked on her words, unable to come up with a retort.
"Besides, Blaine is an idiot. Only you and his delusional fans like him. Why would I cry over that?"
"I can't wait for you two to go public with your romance. I'll celebrate with a bang."
My words were harsh, especially since I used to listen to everything she said without ever arguing or showing my true feelings. She was clearly stunned by my response.
After a long pause, she finally grabbed her suitcase. "Izabella, keep pretending. Everyone knows you were the one chasing after Blaine. You're already being cursed out all over Twitter."
"You think pretending not to care makes you tough? How laughable."
With that, she stormed off with her suitcase.
I didn't want to waste another word on her.
In the past, I was blind to her true intentions and thought she genuinely cared for me. Now, looking back, I realized she had always been ambitious. I was just too blind to notice.
From the first time she saw Blaine, she couldn't take her eyes off him. I was foolish not to see her true motives.
She always pressured me into doing reality shows, even though I wasn't good at them. She even got me on those detective and mystery-solving shows, which only subjected me to a wave of criticism.
But now, things were different.
I pulled out my phone and glanced at the schedule. The Capture of Truth reality show was set to start recording its fourth episode in two days.
This time, it was my time to shine.
