Chapter 4 The 100th year

"Good morning, Mr. Cage"

"Good morning, Oliver how are you doing today?"

"Very well thank you sir, you have a guest from the office downstairs"

It can only be one person who has the nerve to come to my house this early "Okay I will be right down offer him something and I will be there shortly"

"Okay sir, should I open the blinds, no don't you know I love staying in the dark more than I do staying in light"

"Yes, sir I do, I thought you will need a change today"

"Oliver, you think that way always, but thank you for being hopeful, I guess I have been this hopeful thanks to you"

"I'm always here to serve you sir, I set out your clothes and a bath for you I will be downstairs if you need me"

"Thanks Oliver"

Xander gets up from his bed walks up to the bathroom to take a shower, the water from the shower pouring down his perfectly built body, and every scrub enough to turn anyone on.

Xander gets dressed in a black long sleeved turtle neck outfit, black trouser and a black slipper, he came downstairs and a young lady greeted him;

"Good morning, Mr. Cage" He waved at her while she continued cleaning the environs of his room. Coming down the stairs he met two other maids cleaning the stairs, they greeted him and he nodded at them responding to their greeting.

When he came down from the stairs a young man with a silver tray and the day's newspaper walked up to him and said; "Good morning, Mr. Cage" Xander nodded and took the newspaper from the tray.

He walked towards his study where his guest was and a doorkeeper opened the door of the study for him to walk in. When he did, he sat down and the young man waiting for him standing greeted him and Xander asked him to seat.

As he was about to start with what brought him to Xander's house, Xander looked at him and asked; "Have you had breakfast" and he answered "no i haven't, I left the house quite early to come here but I plan on having breakfast before I get to the office"

Xander pressed a button on his table and Oliver came in, he then told him to get an extra plate on the table that their guest will be joining them.

Oliver left and went to alert the chefs and maids of that and when breakfast was served, he went to the study to inform Xander and they came out to go have breakfast.

Oliver pulled out the seat at the head of the table for Xander and he sat while Oliver and the guest sat beside Xander while the servers served the breakfast, while they ate Thomas Xander's guest said to Oliver, "wow! dad it has been years since we three dinned together as a family" Xander chuckled and said "That's true, you have been so busy handling my estate that we never really spend time as a family except you come over for work"

Oliver said "Very true Mr. Cage I remember when Thomas was born and how he called you dad before he even learnt how to call his actual father dad" Thomas smiled and said 'little did I know that the man I called dad first was even older than my grandpa" They all laughed.

Xander looked at Thomas and told him "I know you are working so hard for the company because in the end it is all ours, you are my heir, your children will inherit this company and so will their children, but that will only happen if you go out there and date someone"

Thomas laughed and said to Xander "I know and understand what you all are saying and honestly I have actually gone on a couple of blind dates but I just haven't found that person that makes my heart flutter" then he turns to his father and tell him "dad remember how when you met mom you said your heart fluttered, you felt butterflies in your tummy and even after she passed every day I see the way you look at her photo with so much love and contempt, even in her absence your love for her never wavered, that is the kind of love I want to find and experience"

Xander smiled and was lost for a minute, Thomas then asked "any progress in finding her" and Xander said "no, maybe I should just accept my fate after all I have lived more than humans can I have seen five of your ancestors come and go so what more do I want to experience" and Oliver said "love!" and he said to Xander "I have watched you live since I was a little boy till now, every night my father Thomas' grandfather will tell me bed time stories of how hard you worked and how you were able to amass all these wealth that our lineage has been so fortunate to be a part of but he will always tell me that the one feeling you have never experienced, that feeling that I experienced with Thomas' mother which everyone wants to experience that is the one thing you haven't experiences and how will you know you don't want to experience it when you know nothing about it".

Xander looked at Thomas and Oliver and said "wow! you both decided to ambush me today with all these love talk, well it's so not working, you know I have stopped wanting things and just decided to leave thse things that happens in my life to fate, after all I never asked for any of this but yet fate allowed such a dreadful thing happen to an innocent child who was yet to see the world so I have stopped expecting anything from life and have now turned to a spectator of the things that happens in my life"

Thomas sighed and said to Xander "that is a very sad way to look at life but you never know something good might just happen before you know it"

Xander looked at the time and said "enough of the chitchat let's get down to why you are here today. They left the dining hall and went back to the study. When they got in there Thomas' face changed and Xander asked him "why the sudden change in countenance a moment ago you had a lot to say what happened now" Thomas said to Xander, "well, sir we have a huge problem".
