Chapter 3 Lorelei's death

Xander has been the supplier of fruits to that village for years little did they know the person whom all the fruit vendors have been buying fruits and vegetables from for over ten years has been Xander. The girls of the village didn't want to let him go so he had to run away and take a route to confuse them.

While he was heading back home, he saw a group of men who take street children and force them to beg for money, he tried to stop them from harassing the eleven-year-old boy but instead they chose to fight with him instead.

He didn't even have to lift a finger and he dealt with the men and hung them up on the tree, then he asked the little boy to go home. While Xander was on his way back home he noticed the little boy has been following him since he left the village, then he turned around and caught him. He asked why he was following him and the boy said he had nowhere else to go, so Xander took pity on him and decided to take him home with him.

When he got home, Lorelei saw him coming with the little boy from a distance and stood in front of the house waiting for them to come and when they did, he smiled at Xander and they took the little boy in, fed him and clothed him. Later Xander told Lorelei about what happened in the village and Lorelei told Xander he did the right thing by bringing the little boy here, he told Xander "I was always worried as to what will happen to you when I die, now I know you would have a companion when I leave.

Xander said to him "stop talking about death the fact I am cursed with life doesn't mean you need to talk about death". The little boy then walks in and said to Xander "you are the one, right?" they both looked at him confused and the boy said "we've heard stories about the cursed child, some parents even tell it to their children as a horror story but do you know what I see it as" they looked at him waiting for his answer and he said to them; "I see it as a story of bravery, a man who risked his life to save his village and his son who was cursed for a crime he never committed" he held Xander's hands and said to him "you are not a bad person, because if you were you would have let those mean men hurt me but you didn't" then he asked Xander "will you be my brother?".

Xander looks at Lorelei and he smiled at Xander and nodded then he hugged the little boy and said to him "of course I will, what is your name" the little boy said "Atlas Hawthorne" Xander smiled and said to Atlas "from today onward I will protect and take care of you" the little boy hugged him.

One morning Lorelei came out of the house and he noticed someone was spying on them, then he caught the person and asked who he was, then he confessed that Alpha sent him to check up on Lorelei to know how he is doing, tears rolled down his cheek then he remembered moments he spent with his brother and also the time when they argued and parted ways.

He asked the spy how Alpha is, he told him and also told him about all his achievements as the Chief, then Lorelei smiled and he told the spy to give Alpha a message for him then he dismissed the spy. The spy went back and told Alpha what Lorelei said and he dismissed the spy, he then went to his room and carried a toy Lorelei used to play with as a child, he smiled looking at it and said "I miss you too brother".

Years went by and little Atlas was a thirty-two-year-old married man with two boys and a girl, together with Xander they have expanded Xander's business and they supplied not just to the village close to them but also to people from very far, they were the richest famers in the whole area. Lorelei was getting older; he had just clocked eighty-two news just got to him that his brother had passed and his nephew has been installed as the new Lycan chief. Days later Lorelei passed.

Xander has watched Atlas grow old and has watched generations after him come and go, years had gone by and civilization had. Xander was now living in the 21st century America precisely in New York city.

He had amassed great wealth, and was living with the current generation of Atlas Hawthorne, Oliver Hawthorne who was Xander's butler, while his son Thomas was the CEO of Xander's company.

With the powers Xander got from the witch through the curse he managed to make people believe he looks like his father, whenever they see him, they assume he is the son of his late father, that way no one knows he has been the one living all these lives.

Centuries had come and gone and for each century Xander traveled round the world in search of the Luna descendant all to no avail, each time he came back home from a trip where he went out in search of the Luna descendant and it was not successful, he would lock himself up in his room for days before he comes out of his room.

Each time he wants to change into a wolf he goes through a secret path at the back of his house which will lead him through a mystical forest to the house he grew up in. Sometimes he stays there for days leaving the Hawthorne's to handle his affairs before he comes back to civilization.

Years had gone by and the timeline for Xander's life was drawing near, he had lived up to his nine hundred and ninety ninth year, and he just got into the last year, his hundredth year. At this point Xander had lost hope in finding the Luna descendant, and he was ready and willing to embrace his fate no matter what it was. But the new year might bring about a new dawn.
