Chapter 5 LET'S GO AND GET MARRIED

Ten minutes after they left, Beryl arrived and discovered Kedrick had left. He even left his sister at home to rush over, only to find no one.

"Dammit! Kendrick!" Beryl yelled frustratedly and went back to his car.

Kendrick, on the other hand, sneezed while in the car.

'Beryl must be scolding me.' Kendrick chuckled.

"What is so funny?" Amelia asked.

"Oh, I remembered how cute you were last night," Kendrick whispered in her ear.

"You!" Amelia's face turned red as a plum after hearing Kendrick's words.

"Why are you so shy?" Looking at Amelia's flushed face, he pulled her to his embrace.

But Amelia tried to hold back. "Your assistant is here." She whispered back.

"Don't worry, he can't see us."

Alu "...."

'Did the boss think I'm blind?' He could clearly see them in the rearview mirror.

"But he can hear us!" Amelia insisted.

"No, he can't."

Alu "...."

'And Boss thinks I'm deaf too! Ah! So this is how Boss is with Missus! Am I invisible in his eyes? Or should I make myself invisible?' He wondered about which one it should be.

"Boss, we have arrived," Alu announced.

Kendrick and Amelia are in a private room, having dinner at one of Kendrick's luxurious hotels. They were seated side by side.

"Amelia, don't you like the food?" Kendrick worriedly asked, seeing Amelia had already stopped eating.

"I'm full."

"But you hardly ate."

"I am not used to eating a lot. And looking at your stomach and mine, yours is far bigger."

"You think my stomach is big?" Kendrick took Amelia's hand and placed it on his stomach. Amelia's face turned beet red; he had seen Kendrick's well-toned body.

"You! You know that is not what I mean!" She grabbed back her hand from Kendrick and hit his chest, which made him chuckle.

"You are a man with a bigger physique than me; clearly, you should eat more than me," Amelia explained.

"I think you should eat more. Look, I can hardly hold you," Kendrick said, wrapping his arm around Amelia.

"!!!!"

"You! You! Hooligan!"

"Oh, am I a hooligan? Would you like to see what a real hooligan looks like?" Kendrick responded as he held Amelia's chin to face, closely nearing his face to her.

"!!!!"

"You! You! Finish your food!" Amelia panicked and tried to push him with both her hands.

Kendrick laughed and took his cutlery, sliced a piece of his steak, and put it in Amelia's mouth. "Come on, eat a little more."

"But I'm truly full," Amelia said with a pout but eventually ate the steak in front of her.

Kendrick was delighted to see her take the steak. "I will eat with you," Kendrick said, taking a big chunk of the steak, slicing another small piece, and giving it to Amelia again.

"This is the last piece; I don't want to eat anymore," Amelia said.

"OK, last piece it is. Would you like some dessert?"

"You should have asked me that earlier! I should have eaten my dessert instead of your steak; now, I no longer have room for dessert. Look, my tummy is so full," Amelia whines.

"Alright, I'm sorry. What about a scoop of ice cream." Kendrick asked.

"No, let us have it next time. I have eaten very little since I was young; otherwise, I get bad indigestion. But it would be best if you ate more. I will watch you." Amelia explained.

"I understand, I'm also full." Kendrick wiped his hand and pulled Amelia up from the chair.

"Let's go and get married."

After registering their marriage, the two left the civil bureau, each holding a red card indicating their marriage registry.

"Honey, remember, you can only be mine, and I promise to give you everything," Kendrick said solemnly to Amelia when they were seated inside the car, kissing her.

"Alu, let's go to The Grand Palace." The Grand Palace is an exclusive membership high-end mall owned by Kendrick's Company. It caters to exclusive top brands and sells only to members.

When they arrived at the mall's entrance, all the top executives and managers were standing in line to welcome them.

"Welcome, Mr. Yang."

Kendrick, with Amelia's hand in his, says, "This is my wife, Amelia. Remember her and make sure to give her the best service whenever she comes or wherever you see her, with or without me."

Amelia was shocked; she didn't like to be treated as a VIP. She pulled Kendrick's arm and shook her head at him, telling him she didn't want that.

Kendrick patted his hand, telling him it was OK. Then Kendrick started to walk with Amelia in tow and led her to a luxurious jewelry shop.

Amelia knew this shop very well; it is well known for its rare and exquisite designs. How she wishes she could be part of this company and design for them.

"Mr. Yang, I have prepared what you asked for; please follow me." The shop manager said and escorted them to a VIP room.

"Mr. Yang, Madam, please have a seat, and I will get the items for you."

"Why are there no other people around?" Amelia asked Kendrick because she had been in this mall several times when Nerissa would take her shopping. This mall may not be bursting with people like other malls, but surely, there would be people. Today, however, it was notably too quiet.

"I told Alu to clear out all the people." Kendrick casually replied.

"You! Why do you have to be so demanding?!" Amelia couldn't believe Kendrick's scrupulous behavior.

"Honey, if I don't do that, do you know how hard it would be for the security to control the crowd if the people see me walking here while holding your hand?" Kendrick explained.

Amelia thought about it, 'Indeed, Kendrick is a well-known personality; he may not be in show business, but he is always on the news headline. It will be too troublesome.' Amelia realized just how difficult it would be if people found out she was Kendrick's wife; 'why didn't I think about this earlier?' She thought.

"Honey, what are you thinking?" Kendrick asked when Amelia didn't say a word but was dazed.

"I think it is too troublesome when people find out I'm your wife; I will be targeted by every single woman who has their eyes on you."

Kendrick laughed out loud.

"Are you now regretting marrying me? It's a good thing you can no longer back out since we're already married! Don't worry, I will protect you. Who would dare to bully my wife!" Kendrick said as he pulled Amelia closer to him, wrapping his arms around her for assurance.

"I know, I trust you," Amelia murmured.

Kendrick's heart melted when she heard Amelia's response; he kissed her head, "I promise. I won't let anything happen to you."

"Um."

"Mr. Yang, here are the items you ordered." The shop manager and the servers came back with three trays of jewelry. They felt embarrassed when they saw the couple embracing each other.

"Let me see. Honey, come, let's choose our wedding ring."

Amelia was beyond amazed by the jewelry in front of her. As a jewelry designer, she loves and always likes checking different designs and learning from them, unlike other designers who become proud and would never appreciate other designs.

"What about this?" Kendrick asked, showing her a couple's ring encrusted with huge diamonds all over it.

"I'm afraid I will lose my hand if I wear that."

"Is this too gaudy?"

Amelia could tell Kendrick wanted something extraordinary, but Amelia knew her fingers were too small for the design that Kendrick had picked.

To make Kendrick understand, she took the woman's ring, slipped it on her ring finger, and showed it to him.

"See? It's too big for my finger. It actually swallowed my hand!" Kendrick only realized how small her hands were compared to his.

"Why don't you choose? Pick whichever you like!"

"Um."

Amelia was browsing and checking each of them with a smile on her face.

Kendrick stared at her, pulling back some hair out of her face; for him, it was a sight to see.

"What about this?" Amelia pointed to a pair of platinum rings. The man's ring had a thick band encrusted with six diamonds, which suited Kendrick's hand. In comparison, the woman's ring was more dainty and thin, also encrusted with six smaller diamonds.

"Let's try it on your finger, Honey." Kendrick took the smaller ring and slipped it into Amelia's ring finger.

"Honey, it looks perfect on your finger," Kendrick said with delight.

Amelia took the other ring and slipped it onto Kendrick's ring finger, "do you like it?"

"Honey, I love it, and I would love whatever you choose for me."

"What a glib tongue," Amelia said, giving Kendrick's cheek a pinch. Kendrick pulled her face and kissed her.

The shop manager and the shop attendants would want the floor to swallow them; they could not take the PDA of the couple anymore.

"Come on, let's go shopping before we prepare for tonight's auction." Kendrick pulled Amelia from the lounge chair.

Amelia couldn't believe how generous Kendrick was to her; she was beyond overwhelmed by what he had bought for her.

"Kendrick, enough. I don't need them at all! I still have clothes in my place."

"Just leave them in the closet; you never know when you will need them." These are the words she always gets from Kendrick when he picks up the shoes, bags, and other accessories.

"It's time to get you dressed for tonight." Kendrick once again pulled her to another shop.
