Chapter 4 I'M GETTING MARRIED

Kendrick carried Amelia with him to bathe. Amelia felt so tired, and her body felt like a truck had run over it.

"You! We are not married yet, but you already bullied me," Amelia whined poutily.

"If I don't bully like this, it means I don't adore you." Kendrick lovingly said while helping her take a bath.

"Come on, let us get dressed. We still have time to register our marriage after we have lunch."

"But I don't have anything to wear!" Amelia only realized now that her clothes were already soiled.

"My assistant must have sent your clothes already. Wait." Kendrick went out while still buttoning her trousers.

He saw Alu waiting for her in the receiving area.

"Do you have everything I asked for?"

"Yes, sir. I have sent the investigation report to your email. And here are Miss Amelia's clothes."

"You can call her Missus."

"...."

Alu was dumbfounded. He had been working for Kendrick for the past 15 years. Alu had never witnessed him being interested in or getting involved with any woman. But today, he found a Missus!!!

"Congratulations, Sir." Alu immediately said after he recovered from the news.

"Your bonus for this month is doubled," Kendrick cheerfully told him, happy to have someone congratulate him.

"Thank you, Sir!" Alu merrily said.

"Oh, and prepare a dress for her; she will join me at the charity auction tonight."

"Yes, Sir!"

Kendrick went back to the room with Amelias' clothes in hand.

"Here, after we register our marriage, let us get your things from your place," Kendrick said as he handed her the clothes.

"Is there a rush to move in?"

"But I won't be at ease without you at night."

"You! Is that all you have in mind?!"

Kendrick laughed and held her, "Only with you," he said, giving her a quick kiss.

"Get dressed, and let us have lunch and go to the civil registry."

After putting on his tie and cufflinks, Kendrick sat down to check his email. He wanted to see the result of the investigation Alu had sent him.

Kendrick played several surveillance videos from different angles of the club.

Kendrick saved one file and sent it to Beryl with a note, "Deal with this man."

Beryl, who was still taking care of his sister's hangover, got the message; knowing it was from Kendrick, he immediately opened it. After watching it, Beryl directly called Kendrick.

"Kendrick, tell me what happened!"

"He drugged Amelia."

"Where is she? Is she alright? Why didn't you tell me last night?"

"Yeah, she is perfectly fine, so you don't have to worry about her. And by the way, I'm getting married." Kendrick leisurely said.

"What?!

Kendrick, are you serious?! Who is the woman?" Beryl bombarded Kendrick with a series of questions, but instead of an answer, Beryl heard a beep tone. Kendrick had already hung up the phone.

"Dammed!" Beryl loudly yelled and redialled his phone to find Kendrick declining his call.

Remembering the surveillance video Kendrick had sent him, he decided to deal with it first. He sent it to the club's manager with his instructions. Beryls' family owns The Le Club, so he is compelled to put this matter under his hands.

Beryl already feels a headache coming just thinking of his sister finding out about this matter.

'She will definitely wreak havoc.' Beryl thought, rubbing his temples. Recalling Kendrick again, 'Who the hell is he marrying? I never knew he dated anyone?'

Beryl dialed his phone, "Alu! You had better tell me who Kendrick's woman is!"

Alu put the speaker's phone away from his ears after listening to Beryl screaming.

"Sir, please have mercy on me. My boss will kill me!" Alu pleaded.

"You mean you are not afraid of me?!" Beryl reprimanded him.

"Sir, of course, I'm afraid of you, but my boss is a hundred times scarier than you." Alu retorted.

"You! Alu, don't show yourself to me! Where is Kendrick?"

"He is currently in Meadows, Sir."

"Good! I'm coming over," Beryl said and hung up the phone.

Alu was petrified, knowing Beryls' potential arrival.

'I should inform Boss.' Feeling the chill on his spine.

He dialed his phone and told Kendrick that Beryl was on his way.

"Did you tell him where we are?"

"Sir, he asked where you are; I didn't expect him to rush over."

"Your bonus for the next three months is forfeited."

"...."

Kendrick went back to the bathroom to check on Amelia. He doesn't want Beryl to find them, thinking Amelia may feel awkward if he sees them now.

"Are you done?"

"Yes, I was about to go out."

Kendrick was once again mesmerized by Amelias' looks. Despite not wearing makeup, her face glows and has its beauty.

"Amelia, Honey, you look so beautiful."

"I didn't know you have such a glib tongue, Mighty Kendrick." Amelia jokingly replied.

"What did you call me?"

"Mighty Kendrick."

"Someone wants to get punished."

"No, no, no, Kendrick."

"Try again."

"Ken?"

"Again."

"Kenny?"

"No, I hate that name; try again; if not, I'll punish you."

"Ken Ken? Little Ken? Brother Ken?

"Honey?" Amelia said shyly, her face flushed.

"That's more like it," Kendrick said, giving her a sweet kiss.

With their hands intertwined, they left the room and found Alu waiting for them.

"Let's go."
