Chapter 10 Master

Everyone watched in stunned silence as Dominik completed his countdown.

The murmurs spread like wildfire. "Is he really cursing the mayor? That's practically a death wish!"

"Even Bruce Higgins can't smooth this over. This is too big a mess for even him to fix!"

Mr. Morgan's face was a mask of fury. "This young man has truly crossed the line."

As Dominik uttered the final number, Abel's complexion changed dramatically, and he clutched at his chest.

Seconds later, Abel was writhing in pain, leaning back in his chair as if he was about to collapse.

"Help me..." He stretched out his hand towards Dominik, gasping those last two words.

Craig, panic-stricken, rushed to Abel's side to administer emergency care, using silver needles in a desperate attempt to stabilize him. Despite his efforts, nothing seemed to work.

Craig wiped the sweat from his brow.

If his medicine had indeed endangered Mr. Bates, he knew he'd face serious consequences.

"Your medicine is too strong for his condition - it's not suitable for someone who isn't actually sick. It's only hastening his end," Dominik stated coolly.

The crowd, initially hostile towards Dominik, now looked at him with a mixture of awe and surprise. His medical knowledge seemed to surpass even that of the revered Medicine King.

Craig, a bit humbled, coughed nervously. "Could you advise us, young man?"

"Not interested," Dominik responded, disinterested.

He had already warned them. If Abel chose to ignore his advice, why should he intervene?

Craig pleaded, "Please, I was hasty in my judgment earlier... Please help Mr. Bates. His leadership has been invaluable to Zlexvale."

The crowd began to plead with Dominik as well, recognizing the gravity of Abel's condition.

Bruce also urged him, "Mr. Gilbert, please help! We need Mr. Bates for the future projects he's supporting..."

Without a word, Dominik walked over to Abel and delivered a sharp kick to his chest.

The impact sent Abel flying against the wall. He coughed up a mixture of blood and the herbal concoction he had drunk earlier.

"How could you?" Abel's bodyguards were outraged, moving towards Dominik, ready to defend their charge.

"Stop!" Abel's command halted everyone in their tracks.

Though pale and having just expelled blood, his voice carried a surprising strength.

Abel cleared his throat and declared, "This young man has saved me, not harmed me!"

Craig hurried over to inspect the dark pool of blood Abel had coughed up. After examining it closely, he gasped in shock. "Poisoned?!"

"Mr. Morgan, you are truly worthy of the title Medicine King. You could detect it... Indeed, it's poisoned, and no ordinary poison at that," said Dominik with a look of surprise on his face.

This particular poison had been concocted by a notorious individual within the confines of Phantom Prison, designed with the sinister intent of silently killing its victims.

"Young man, thank you for saving me!" Abel expressed his gratitude towards Dominik.

Dominik nodded and responded, "Alright, take care of yourself and be more careful next time. Pay attention to your diet."

A cold glint appeared in Abel's eyes as he nodded slightly, his mind set on investigating those around him carefully once he returned.

Craig approached Dominik with an embarrassed look and a smile, saying, "You're a master of medicine; your skills are indeed extraordinary. I'm sorry for my previous actions. I hope you can give me a chance to be your student. I'm willing to learn medical skills from you..."

The request shocked everyone. Craig, known as the Medicine King, actually wanted to learn medical knowledge from Dominik!

"I don't have enough time. We'll talk later," Dominik refused bluntly.

Bruce smiled wryly. He was well aware that Dominik had such a temperament that no one dared to provoke him.

Even those horrible and notorious prisoners full of iniquities in prison, who could trouble a country's president, would obediently listen to Dominik!

After resolving the issue, Dominik left to gather medicine for Ruby.

Due to a shortage of one of the medicinal herbs, it took almost all night to wait for the supply. By the time he had gathered everything, dawn was breaking.

Dominik picked up some gifts on his way to visit the Harper family.

Upon entering the house, he saw Ruby lying on the sofa with Kristian sitting beside her.

"Ruby, it's all right now. Just rest assured. I've already saved you," Kristian comforted her gently.
