Chapter 4 Four

Five years ago. Veloture Night Club.

"What are you selling here?!"

Alexa slammed her glass on the marble table. The booming sound in the nightclub she visited swallowed up the noise. A splash of water in the glass spilled and made her even more annoyed.

A male bartender in front of her answered, "What you ordered was vodka."

"Try to taste it yourself, does this drink look like vodka?!" she shouted loudly, her throat hurt, but her voice was no stronger than disco music.

"That drink was alcoholic, Miss. And you're already drunk." The bartender answered slowly and a little annoyed, an angry woman is really scary. He didn't know what the poor woman was experiencing, so she didn't realize that she was drunk.

"I'm drunk? You're blind, aren't you, Short guy?!"

Her eyes wandered around the dancing crowd looking for Jane. On a low stage where the spotlight was sharp, a disk jockey played music with women on either side of him.

In the middle of the club, the crowd was even worse, several half-naked women were dancing flirtatiously while holding swaying breasts. Alexa saw the naughty women taking turns hoping one of them was Jane. Unfortunately, Jane was nowhere to be found, even though it was Jane who brought her here.

Snorting, she turned to the short bartender who was looking at her warily. She tried to look closely at the man's face, but all her eyes caught was a funny and strange expression. The bartender's face was triplets. She wasn't even sure she was an earthling, he looked like a flickering hologram. The corners of her lips turned up.

"Give me stronger liquor! Stronger. One!" she said. "I'll forgive your previous mistake if you give me real one. And it's free."

"No way, Miss. You have to pay." The bartender put on a forced smile, his hands busy on the shaker.

"Jane will pay." Her head moved with difficulty, almost falling over several times.

"Sorry, who is Jane?"

"Jane Ryleigh. She's the exclusive member here, you don't know her! Are you new?"

"I don't know her."

Alexa snorted. All men are the same. Likes pretending to be stupid after what happened. Who doesn't know a bitch like Jane whose flying hours beat the rich men? Almost every Sunday, this bitch who was also her best friend always came home with a new Sugar Daddy. All of them are very rich and can afford to throw their money at Jane like sand.

"You're so arrogant, even though you're just a short guy."

The corners of the bartender's lips itched. "I'm not short, Miss."

The bartender actually has a standard body posture. It doesn't even deserve to be called short. It was just that in Alexa's stupid eyes right now, she considered the man's body blocked by the high bar table to be very short.

"I want vodka," she cooed.

"You've had five glasses."

"Is there a rule on how many glasses I drink, huh? You tricked me, it's not vodka at all! How can a stupid bartender get hired here anyway?! Bad service."

After speaking bad without pause, she hiccuped badly several times, until she could barely speak because her mouth was tired.

The bartender's face showed a combination of suppressed anger and wanting to throw the shaker in his hand at her. Luckily she is beautiful and is his type. There were lots of stupid drunk people like her that he met in this club, he felt like this was nothing. There was even a drunk woman who threw her bra in his face.

"I wanna meet your boss!" Alexa held her head straight, as if she had never been drunk. "Where is the owner of this club? I want to complain!"

"No way, Miss. My boss isn't here," the bartender lied, even though in fact the owner was in the corner of the club, somewhere.

"Isn't here? What kind of owner is he?! Why doesn't he supervise incompetent workers like you?"

"My boss only comes on weekends. Usually he will be here until morning." The bartender answered innocently. He smiled while piling on patience.

"This club is really bad! I will sue all of you!"

"Maybe you need a drink? You're already very drunk," said the bartender, pushing the glass of water towards her.

"I'm not drunk!" Alexa stand up, staggered and looked for the handle of a chair. "Look, I can still stand up straight."

"Ow, yeah, good thing there's a chair." The bartender rolled his eyes. "You also have to pay for the water."

Her head felt like it was boiling; between heat and overwhelming emotions. Her limp body stood up. Raised the glass to splash the bartender, but instead she drank it all down. Her eyes filled with tears.

"Why are all the men conspiring to annoy me? You too! Are you Bryan's friend? He's rotten! A lowly playboy!"

The bartender decided not to respond.

Alexa started babbling again. Her surroundings didn't help make her feel relieved. Maybe she should have a 'broken heart' sign stuck on her back so people can sympathize with her.

That's right. She just broke up. The man who cheated on her was named Bryan. It's a shame, they had to break up, even though she loved him so much. Bryan said she was stupid just because she didn't want to give up her virginity to him. Until a week ago, she finally caught him making out with a another woman behind her. They were naked together in his apartment, shameless.

That man is really stupid. Doesn't he know that she is maintaining her virginity to make him happy?

"Where is the owner of this club! Get out! Quickly tell him to get out!" she shouted.

Just as the bartender wanted to answer, a man appeared from behind her. The bartender immediately fell silent on the spot. The boss actually appeared. His clear blue eyes stared curiously at Alexa's stupid ramblings. Even though he was wearing a brown leather jacket, the boss looked very handsome and tough.

Several eyes had fallen on him after he entered.

But who doesn't know Ray Sanders? The club owner and handsome man who is very difficult to approach.

"What is it?" Ray asked.

Alexa heard a voice behind her and stood up. She turned around. "You're the owner of this crappy club, huh?"

"Yes, that's me."

"It's great that you came with a shameless face. I want to complain here."

The bartender looked panicked. "I'm sorry, Mr. Sanders, I'll tell the guards to throw her out."

The man named Ray looked disapproving. "How could you treat a woman like this?" he said coldly.

"That's ...."

"Look! I am right! The service here is so bad! I ask for compensation! Where is Jane, have you seen that bitch? She's my friend!" she roared with a heavy head.

Her back hit Ray's shoulder, the man actively supported her well. On the verge of consciousness, the man's fragrance made her feel comfortable. Her body involuntarily stretched and hugged the sturdy body in front of her tightly. As she slumped, a strong hand pulled her to her feet.

"This woman has been babbling like that ever since. She keeps mentioning the name Jane, the exclusive member here, she said."

Ray frowned. He knew Jane Ryleigh very well because she was a regular at this club. Jane had sent him a message that she would introduce him to a friend who was heartbroken and wanted to commit suicide.

Is she the one?

"Ah, are you Alexa?" There was no answer because Alexa had fainted, then Ray saw his employee. "Let me take care of her. Go back to work. See me tomorrow."

Didn't know what expression the bartender should put on. He felt cold all over. Too bad, because a woman was drunk he was told to face his boss. Hopefully he doesn't get fired.

Meanwhile, Alexa, who was in Ray's arms, was unable to follow the man's long steps. Several times she stumbled. Her legs hooked together like a tied rope. Over time she was dragged away. Her hands were limp at her sides. Sometimes she babbled and smiled to herself, said Bryan's name, cursed at people who weren't there, even pinched Ray's stomach.

The heavy struggle to carry the woman finally meant that Ray had to carry her on his back. He took her to one of the empty club rooms.

He grabbed his phone once he had put Alexa down properly, trying to contact Jane.

"Not active." Ray muttered.

Alexa's handbag with a chain snaking around the woman's arm stole his attention.

"Sorry, I just wanted to make sure."

And he opened it to see the owner's ID. But he found nothing. He sighed. He didn't know her but he knew Jane well, and remembered she said someone named Alexa was waiting for him at the bar alone.

Here's what happened.
