Chapter 8 8. Ask for conditions

Chapter 8. Ask for conditions

"I'll take care of our divorce. You don't have to worry, I'll take care of everything," he said as he walked into the nursery, over to the twins, playing with our two sons.

"I hope you won't use the twins as a shield to defend a household that I never wanted in the first place," she said.

"Fine!" I said with a bleeding soul.

The man didn't even show an ounce of guilt for throwing me away.

Never mind love or return love. Even just to apologize seemed like his lips were numb. I didn't know that Bima Adiatma had a snow-cold heart that I couldn't warm with the fire of my soul.

The door to the room opened wide, and Devina showed her nose again.

"Father is downstairs! Go see you!" she commanded, my younger sister had absolutely no respect for me. She had always been like that and it was strange how her life was so smooth.

"Answer me, don't just stay quiet!" she snapped.

I turned my head towards Devina.

My gaze managed to make her scowl as she pressed her lips together and mumbled. I didn't know what she was talking about.

I moved from my seat, leaving the twins and their father behind. Wordlessly with my feet floating in the air, my body felt weak and limp.

If only Mom was still around, maybe I could tell her how sad my current situation was. God... This feeling is so uncomfortable.

However, at least one thing I'm sure of is that Mom's departure from this world must make her calm in the world beyond.

May Allah widen her grave, enlighten her barzah and give her the best reward as provision in the grave. Aamiin.

With unsteady footsteps I prayed and spun hopes for the woman who had left this world.

Arriving in the living room, I saw my father sitting with his new wife, the woman ... If I'm not mistaken, her name was Mrs. Romlah Lisnawati.

"Mr..." I greeted the man and his wife, then kissed the man's hand reverently and respectfully. In turn, I did this to my stepmother, although in my heart there was actually a feeling that was difficult to explain about my hatred for my stepmother who had taken my father. However, it is literally impossible to take away my father if he himself upholds the meaning of loyalty to my biological mother.

Ah... Maybe harlot and traitor are worthy of each other.

I sat on the chair, looking awkward. Repeatedly Mrs. Romlah nudged Mr.'s arm with an elbow, the woman I was sure must be in the middle of preparing their hearts to say the sentence she wanted to say, like before. 3 years ago, forcing myself and asking myself to replace Devina's wedding.

You want to talk," the man said.

"Please..." I said.

"That's..."

The man swallowed like his throat was blocked. Then he knelt before me. I smiled wryly. Is that how much you love Devina?

"Devina has returned to Indonesia! As you know, Devina is the real wife-to-be for Bima. Now that Devina is home... We hope you will let Bima go..."

"Okay!" I said firmly. It managed to make me startled and turned my head to me then I stared at the man who was supposed to be my First Love but this turned out to be the first heartbreak in my life.

"Stand up!" I said bitterly.

Maybe you didn't think that I let go of Mas Bima so easily, if only he had paid a little attention to me and asked how I was doing.

Mr. ... My mother, the wife you have thrown away in the past is now in the afterlife since 2 weeks ago.

My mother's husband was taken by Mrs. Romlah Lisnawati. And now I'm the one who was taken away from my husband by Mrs. Romlah's son.

Oh destiny... Oh angels...

Do doom and karma exist?

My mother's life and mine are suffering. The man we thought was our soul mate has been taken away. But I saw that Mrs. Romlah and Devina's lives looked so happy.

"That's good then. That means your divorce must be carried out immediately, so that Devina can marry Bima!" said Mrs. Romlah Lisnawati proudly.

"Good!" I said again.

Mr. looked a little guilty from the look on his face, although I knew it was probably just a little guilt. In fact, there was no defense for my fate.

If he was a responsible man, he should have been angry that Mas Bima had treated me like this. But...

"I apologize," he said, half bowing.

"I hope you will let Devina remarry Bima," he added.

Although I realized that the divorce between us had already taken place, Bapak's request was like a bolt of lightning that struck my soul. It was painful and soul-crushing.

"I will sign the divorce papers as soon as possible. But after that I ask for one condition," I said.
