Chapter 6 I Love You

Since earlier, the girl appeared gloomy, lacking enthusiasm, occasionally glancing at her phone, hoping for a notification. However, since yesterday, that hadn't happened, frustrating her.

Without further hesitation, she decided to send a message first, though it was still challenging for her. She typed a word, but once again, her intention wavered. She placed her phone and her heavy head down. A cold touch from a glass of drink briefly caught her attention, and she quickly looked at the person responsible.

"Urahara-san?" Hana said, adjusting her sitting position.

"No response from him yet?" Urahara continued, placing a glass of oolong tea in front of Hana.

"Thank you... it seems like he dumped me," she said, sighing again.

"Give me your phone."

Hana handed her phone to Urahara, and he quickly dialed Kaji's number. After a brief conversation, Urahara uttered a few sentences that surprised Hana.

"Sorted, he'll be here soon," Urahara said casually.

"But why did you say you'd steal me from him?" Hana questioned, fear in her voice.

"That was just an act; sometimes, a man needs a threat to maintain a relationship. Trust me, he'll come."

After the break ended, what Urahara said turned out to be true. Kaji arrived, out of breath, then stared sharply at Hana, who had just delivered an order to a customer. Urahara, at the cash register, looked at him with a triumphant smile.

"I want to talk to you," Kaji said, pulling Hana's arm away from the cafe.

Hana, glancing at Urahara, received a subtle nod as permission and apologized for the situation. Understanding the circumstances, Urahara allowed the girl to leave and resolve her issues.

In a park near the cafe, Kaji turned away from Hana, carefully choosing his words. Meanwhile, Hana, still angry with him, attacked with her straightforward words.

"Who was the woman you were with on the 20th, Wednesday, at 13:40?" Hana questioned, glaring at Kaji.

"Woman? I accompanied? I don't understand," he replied, confused.

"I think you haven't forgotten. Even the office security guard still remembers me when I returned there."

"I really don't understand. You know I'm an office worker, and it's normal for me to walk with my female colleagues. Not only that, I socialize with everyone in the office."

"Then why did you go with her and ride in her car?"

"Are you jealous of my boss? She's the owner of the company I work for, and I accompanied her because her secretary happened to be sick."

Hana fell silent without words, looking at Kaji's face that didn't betray any lies, making her feel a bit relieved.

"And what about you? You seem close to your boss. If we observe, you and he seem to be of the same age."

"I have nothing with him. In fact, he helped me because of this misunderstanding."

Kaji tried to make Hana believe him; there was no point in blaming each other for their own misunderstandings. The man tried to reach for Hana's hand, gently stroking it. Hana glanced at him briefly and secretly smiled.

"Tonight, I want to take you to dinner. Can you make it?"

"Um... yes, I'll ask my boss if I can leave early tonight."

After changing clothes, Hana stared at herself in the mirror, adding a touch of powder to her face and a bit of lip balm to her youthful red lips. Smiling, she praised herself for being beautiful, then grabbed her bag and left the changing room.

Hana's steps halted just behind a dividing wall between rooms. She heard someone she recognized talking with Urahara. It was Misugi Jun, the man she despised.

"What should I do? The nightmare keeps coming. I came here to forget that dream and ended up getting drunk as one way to cope," Jun said with a melancholy tone.

"But that's not good for your health; you should think about that too," Urahara responded, showing genuine concern for his friend.

Seeing that it was already 8 p.m., Hana quickly stopped eavesdropping and left through the back door to avoid encountering Misugi Jun.

Arriving at the place Kaji had reserved, Hana was surprised by the beautiful decorations. Along the path were rows of candles leading to a very romantic candlelight dinner table. However, Kaji was nowhere to be found, leaving her wondering. Suddenly, a sigh from behind made Hana turn around, and her gaze fell to someone kneeling in front of her, holding a small box containing a ring.

"Will you marry me?" he said firmly.

Shocked, Hana could only cover her mouth in disbelief. Tears welled up in her eyes; she never expected Kaji to propose on their 7th anniversary.

"Yes, I do," Hana replied after reassuring herself.

The man reached for Hana's fingers and gently placed the ring on her ring finger. After succeeding, he stood and aligned himself with Hana. Then, he looked at her intently, expressing his happiness at having such a kind and beautiful girl.

Hana burst into tears at that moment, and Kaji gently embraced her. Suddenly, music started playing, adding to the romantic atmosphere. "I promise to take care of you forever. This is my duty from God, and I won't waste this opportunity," Kaji whispered, making Hana's tears flow even more.
