Chapter 5 Who's That Girl

After a month of working at Cafe Urahara, it has paid off for Hana. Hana, who just received her first salary, looked extremely happy. Urahara even gave her a bonus for her hard work.

With her first paycheck, Hana wants to invite Kaji for a date, as since she's been in Tokyo, they haven't spent time together like a couple. After cleaning the cafe one afternoon, Hana, with a sweet expression, asked Urahara for a 2-hour break. Urahara, busy selecting coffee beans, acknowledged her request.

"I know you want to say something," Urahara said without looking at Hana.

"So, Mr. Urahara, I'd like a 2-hour break, and then I'll come back to work," replied Hana earnestly.

"Sure, but don't be late; it's going to be busy tonight."

"Got it, boss... Hana Yui will be back on time."

After getting permission, Hana hurried off, intentionally not contacting Kaji, planning to surprise him at his office.

During these two hours, Hana aimed to make the most of her time. When she arrived at Kaji's office in the Kanto region, it took only 20 minutes by train. As she waited in the lobby, she noticed a man and a girl exiting the elevator, smiling. Hana recognized the man from a distance.

Trying to call Kaji, Hana went unnoticed. She had to chase them out of the office, stopping in her tracks as they quickly left the premises.

"Where are they going?" Hana mused, still standing in disbelief.

Later, Urahara approached Hana, curious about her troubled expression. Hana explained her suspicion of Kaji cheating, leading to a conversation about relationships and the need for communication.

Hana realized the importance of addressing the issue instead of staying silent. Urahara, unexpectedly single, advised her to confront Kaji. The conversation ended as customers arrived, leaving Hana intrigued by Urahara's bachelor status despite his handsome appearance.

The girl dropped onto the bed lazily after changing clothes. Her friend Mimi glanced at her with a puzzled expression and joined her, lying down beside Hana.

"What's wrong?" she asked softly.

"Kaji hasn't contacted me all day, and to make it worse, this afternoon I saw him with another woman."

"Maybe that woman is just a colleague."

"I still can't get it out of my mind."

"You've been dating him for more than 6 years, and isn't tomorrow your 7th anniversary? Maybe he's planning something for you."

"I don't know, I'm mad at him... let me go to bed early."

As Hana lay on the bed, her gaze fell on a calendar on the table next to her bed. The date circled in red was the day she and Kaji officially started dating for 7 years, not a short time, and it was increasingly worrying for Hana. She tried to close her eyes and forget about today, hoping tomorrow would be a better day.

Rain poured again as Hana got off the train, fortunately, she had brought an umbrella in anticipation of the rain. Walking quite a distance from the station, she reached a bus stop where she would take a bus to the cafe where she worked. The cold air prompted her to rub her hands together for warmth, then placed them on her beautiful face.

"I really hate the rainy season," Hana muttered to herself.

Seeing the bus taking its time irritated Hana, and she took out her frustration by kicking an empty can hard into the middle of the road. Once again, she sat and waited for the bus to Ueno.

Slowly but surely, the rain started to subside. Looking up, a genuine smile appeared on Hana's face. The bus she was waiting for was now visible at the end of the road. Suddenly, something unexpected happened. A red sports car zoomed past Hana, and she was startled by the splash of water from the speeding driver.

"Watch it! If we meet again, I'll memorize your license plate!" Hana shouted after noticing the license plate of the fast-moving sports car.

As a result, it wasn't the rain that made Hana wet, but the splashed water from the irresponsible driver. She had to board the bus in a damp state, despite receiving a warning from the driver not to leave the passenger seat wet. Truly an unlucky morning for her.
