Chapter 5 V

Annie's POV:

I feel nervousness, fear, and other various emotions. I am very nervous about what might happen next. I don't know if I will live later or if they will just snap my neck. It's the same with Bonnie, we're both pregnant. She was unconscious because of her nervousness earlier. Fortunately, I was able to calm down. It's really good and I love war and action movies! I can live what the characters in the movie do here in real life.

It was dark because there was no light coming from inside the truck. I forced myself to sit down to think of a way to escape. The vehicle we were riding in started moving. It looks like a black delivery truck. I tried to get close to Bonnie, but I succeeded. I shook him to wake him up. I forgot to remove the gag from my mouth so I removed it immediately.

"Bonnie, wake up. Bonnie, we have to escape. If we don't get out, they will surely kill us or experiment on us. Wake up. We are dangerous here," I gently wake her up.

Bonnie doesn't answer, she's still asleep. Eventually he will surely regain consciousness. It was so dark that I stumbled. Fortunately, my foot was untied but the ride we were riding was so shaky that it was dangerous to stand. Maybe later I will suddenly shake hard and hit the floor. I don't want anything bad to happen to my baby.

I looked for something we could use to escape. I went all around but couldn't find anything. We were the only two in the truck. Bonnie and I's belongings were taken by fake soldiers who turned out to be terrorists earlier. We are too stupid to trust too quickly.

I heard a loud explosion. It's guaranteed to be close. I immediately groped in the dark and looked for Bonnie.

"What's going on? Where are we?" Bonnie asked nervously. He is conscious. Finally, he seems to be awakened by a loud explosion.

Bonnie was still weak. Something is really happening with this girl because she is very nervous. That's why I say avoid drinking too much coffee.

"Remember, we were captured by soldiers pretending to be in Avalon or that they are traitors to our country. We are not sure if they are bad. All I know is that they are considered terrorists. We have to escape from here to as soon as possible. Or find a way to get out of here. You heard that explosion, didn't you?" I explained to Bonnie while holding her hand.

"By the way, we're really stuck. What should we do?" asked Bonnie.

"I don't know either. If I had known, we would have left here already–"

"Ay palaka!"

"Bonnie!"

Suddenly it shook violently. It looks like the terrorists holding us are being bombed. Maybe we can empathize! How is this? The chances of us getting out of here seem slim.

I held Bonnie's hand and we felt all around the truck where we were. We have also kicked everything that can be kicked in the hope that something will open up but it won't.

"Ouch! Someone hit my foot," Bonnie said suddenly after bouncing off our truck.

I felt what it was. A rope, it can be used. I think theAvalonian Army would think that there might be some captured like us. Their camps are definitely firing.

"Let's follow this rope and hold on tight. In case this one we're riding in flips over, we can hold on to something to keep it from being carried away," I said to Bonnie.

We looked for the end and took a deep breath because it was tightly tied to the wall. We both held on and hugged. Our eyes widened when the part with the door of this truck got a hole. A soldier entered there so Bonnie froze.

"We are from the Avalonian Army, we are here to save all the captured citizens. Hurry up and come with us if you don't want the three of us to die here!" the soldier shoutedand someone shot outside.

My eyes widened but recovered immediately. I made Bonniestand up and we immediately approached the soldier. When I saw what we were going to cross to get to their car, my Heart skipped a beat.

"We're pregnant, we can't jump much! How is this?" I will ask.

"We can't do anything, you have to act! If you can't cross, you'll die anyway!" shouted this male soldier who was very calm.

I swallowed and looked at the back of the army truck with soldiers waiting for us. It was 8 feet away from us so I was sure we couldn't cross. When the soldiers saw that Bonnieand I were pregnant, they brought the back of the truck closer to us.

When the butt of the army truck almost collided, Bonnie and I jumped. We were supported by the soldiers who were waiting. We breathed a sigh of relief because we had finally crossed. The driver is also very good to drive because it works backwards.

"You are there at the end with the other rescued people. Get these two water!" shouted the soldier who saved us earlier.

"I thought we were going to die. It takes a long time to die when you're a bad weed. Especially since you already have roots," Bonnie whispered.

"Don't feel sorry for me, you're the only bad and wild grass. I'm just Bermuda grass," I joked, making Bonnie feel embarrassed. They say I'm corny.

We sat on the side next to the other rescuers. There were three children here, two adults, and a man. We are six girls and two boys.

They handed us water so my thirst and nervousness disappeared. The fear I feel has subsided. I'm really gratefuland someone came to help us. If not, what would have happened to Bonnie and me.

I held my stomach, luckily nothing bad happened to us. If my baby and I are harmed, I really cannot forgive those terrorists. They have caused too much damage. If only I were the superior, I would have bombed them all.

I peeked outside and noticed that we were moving away from the burning trucks. It looks like they are about to take us to the rescue center, the safezone. What happened in thecity was terrible and it was really dangerous to go back. Buildings can collapse at any time. Many will be affected and more may die.

"We will now go to the rescue center, the second safezone. You will stay there for a few days or weeks until the city returns to normal. We will also ensure your safety from therescue center until you return to the city. You will also be given there of supplies and something to eat. Those of you who know each other can get together. Five people per cubicle or one family can. Calm down and don't make noise. We may still meet terrorists on the way," said that soldier with long hair. I think he is in his early 50's.

Bonnie and I were silent, leaning on each other. I'm sure we're both deep in thought. I also wonder how Project Melosis doing? Could terrorists have stolen the learning we gathered? I hope not, they will surely use that for evil. I don't want the world to return to its complicated state.

"Ladies, how are you? Are you both hurt? Oh, my grandson and I brought some bread earlier. Please wipe your face with these wipes. Your beautiful face are now wet," offered us theold woman who Bonnie and I are opposite.

I accepted the two-piece biscuit and the package of wipes that he handed over. I turned to look at his beautiful granddaughter with blonde hair. I think the child is about four years old. It has a robo-arm.

"Thank you, mom. What's your name? I'm Annieand this one next to me is Bonnie. We're friends, we're both pregnant. Thank you again. It's really hungry for the two of us to run away earlier before we were captured. I almost passed out from fear," I recounted.

"I'm Mariaviminda, just Maria. This is my granddaughter CriLyn, just Lyn. There's nothing, grandchildren. Go ahead and eat and wipe. We're just resting like everyone else. I know it's been a long time you before arriving here," said Lola Maria.

Bonnie and I treated him. Bonnie ate while I wiped my face. That's right, my face and body are already dry. I want to take a shower later if I can. I don't even know if there is a place to bathe there. There are certainly many others.

After I wiped my face and body, I ate the biscuit. It's crackers with sugar and butter. It's delicious, like thebiscuits I used to eat when I was young.

"Annie, how can we do this job? Then how can our city recover? The two of us have not saved much, we will still give birth and eat. We still need baby supplies. I hope everything will return to normal soon," said said Bonnie.

"It will come back, let's just pray. Our country is known as advanced and strong, our economy will not collapse immediately. Let's just wait for the right opportunity to come back," I said with a smile.

"Woah!, Annie, the lady is smiling. It's nice," Bonnie teased me.

"Impact you, stop me. Maybe you forgot that you threw up a while ago and that's why I threw up too. You're really beautiful," I teased Bonnie, making her hard.

It took us about twenty minutes to get here to the rescue center. There were soldiers barricaded outside and it had very high gates and metal walls. It's guaranteed to be stronger than the glass of the bubble car that I thought was bulletproof.

The gate opened and we were let inside. The people standing in line faced me and there were female soldiers in front of them. This is one of the head counts to find out how many were rescued and who was who. I hope the injured are not serious. If only it were possible that no one was hurt or killed, which is very impossible because the explosion and shooting happened right here.

"Go down and follow Commander West! You will give your information and you will be given a number. Your cubicle will also be there," said the long haired soldier as he pointed.

We got down and let the elderly and children go first. Bonnieand I went down next. We followed Commander West who was a beautiful woman with red hair.

"How many of us are there? First of all, you two are pregnant. What is your name and occupation? Do you really live here in Avalon?" he asked.

"I am AnnieVillanueva, a biologist and employee for Project Melos. I have been living here in Avalon, Equinoxia for a long time and have become a citizen," I answered. Henodded and wrote.

"And you?" Commander West asked Bonnie.

"I'm Bonnie, Bonnie Miller. Annieand I also work together in Project Melos. I also live here in Avalon, Equinoxia and I'm a citizen," Bonnie answered, making her nod.

We were given a number and where our cubicle was. Bonnieand I immediately walked there. We passed some soldiers handing out food so we both begged. We were reprimanded because we had to enter our cubicle first to count our number. We immediately apologized.

When we found our cubicle, Bonnie and I entered. It is made of glass but tinted navy blue. There is also a bathroom inside and clothes. They built it immediately, it was not impossible for Avalon to recover immediately. Here they can build a rescue center as fast as they can.

"I'll take a shower first, Bonnie. Find a place for us," I told her.

"Alright, hurry up so we can eat," Bonnie instructed, so I nodded at her.

I took a dress that was in a box. There is a partner here who wears blue pajamas and a white t-shirt, but I took the blue satin sleeping dress because I am pregnant. It has a collar up to half of the shoulder and there is no problem with thelength.

I took a quick shower and Bonnie followed. Lola Maria and her granddaughter Lyn entered our room. The two of them will continue here as well. They were accompanied by a woman who introduced herself as Sophia. She is also pregnant.

Bonnie and I went out and stood in line with the soldiers handing out food. They gave us porridge with egg and a sandwich stuffed with mayonnaise and cheese. We thanked each other and immediately looked for a place to sit.

"It's a good thing so many were rescued," I told Bonnie.

"Yes, Annie. It's scary to know the number of people injured and killed. Why are there poor souls like those terrorists," Bonnie said angrily.

We both ate. I was really hungry because of our escape earlier and the things I just experienced. Even the other things that I thought about before I didn't know I could do as survival instincts. A different class.

"Annie, look at that. They turned on the TV and it's on an international channel," Bonnie grabbed my attention so I immediately turned to the television.

"It is estimated that around a thousand people died in thebombing in Avalon, Equinoxia. There are also countless injured and those who lost their homes. It is estimated that more than fifty million dollars have been damaged in thecity's infrastructure and homes. This is Shola Yskaelai ,reporter. Just tune in to Wolrd International News for other news."

My grip on my spoon tightened. My chest is tight and I want to cry. What did the people living in Avalon do to make them do this? They have no Heart, nor do they have the right to set foot in our country.
