Chapter 2 2

Lisa's perspective:

After finishing my statement at the police station, I sat in a chair, feeling sad. I had waited for two hours, but instead of Alpha Vladimir, his lawyer arrived.

The lawyer sat across from me and placed his bag on the table. He gave me some papers and said, "Ms. Evans, Alpha Blairgowrie said that if you sign this divorce agreement now, he will give you the apartment at Westlake Mount."

Even though the lawyer spoke kindly, there was still a professional distance between us.

My heart sank as I saw the words "Divorce Agreement" written on the paper. I couldn't believe Alpha Vladimir wanted to divorce me so quickly.

The lawyer noticed that I hadn't touched the pen and took out more papers from his bag. He explained, "These papers have information about Alpha Blairgowrie and your properties. You and Alpha Blairgowrie don't have any shared properties. The Westlake Mount apartment is a kind gift from Alpha Blairgowrie. Also, this paper says that the debt from Evans's Group is only your responsibility and not shared in this marriage. So, Blairgowrie Group is not responsible for it."

The lawyer then showed me more papers listing shares, homes, and credit cards.

My heart sank even more. I realized that Alpha Vladimir had planned everything perfectly. He was very smart, just like my dad had said when he arranged our marriage. Even though he was young, Alpha Vladimir had turned Blairgowrie Group into a successful company and escaped trouble when Evans Group went bankrupt.

I was scared but determined when I thought about Alpha Vladimir's plan. I clenched my fists and tried to calm down. I put the papers on the table and asked, "Where is Alpha Vladimir?"

The lawyer replied, "Alpha Blairgowrie is busy helping his fiancée choose a wedding dress. He gave me the power to handle everything about the divorce. You can talk to me if you have any questions."

I insisted, "I just want to see Alpha Vladimir. I'm even willing to give up the apartment if he agrees to meet."

The lawyer said again, "I'm sorry, Ms. Evans. Alpha Blairgowrie will not see you."

I laughed a little, as if I expected this. I closed the folder with the papers and dug my nail into my hand. "In that case, I won't sign this divorce agreement. If he dares to marry Janet, I will sue him for marrying someone else. Maybe the council and the Alpha King will hear about it and know that an Alpha is not treating his luna right. They might take away his lands."

It had happened before, the Alpha King punished another Alpha like this. So, anything was possible.

The lawyer tried to make me sign, but he couldn't find the words when he saw the sadness and determination in my eyes.

I looked at the lawyer calmly and said, "I believe Alpha Vladimir won't marry Janet unless we settle the divorce. So, tell me where he is."

After thinking for a moment, the lawyer said, "Alpha Blairgowrie will be at Luminance Club at seven o'clock tonight to meet with the president of Phoenix Properties. Once they finish negotiating, I can help you arrange..."

I interrupted him, saying, "No need. Some things can only be resolved directly between him and me."

I took a taxi to Luminance Club, a famous nightclub. When I got there, a security guard stopped me and asked if I had a reservation.

The guard hesitated when he saw my expensive clothes but sad face. He felt like he recognized me.

I held onto my expensive bag tightly and said naturally, "I'm here to see Alpha Vladimir Blairgowrie, the president of Blairgowrie Group."

Alpha Vladimir's name meant something there, so the guard assumed I was important to him and let me in without delay.

The waiter came back after ten minutes and said, "I'm sorry, miss. Alpha Blairgowrie said he won't see anyone."

I stood outside the club, feeling cold from the wind. My bones felt more noticeable, and my legs shook from the cold. But I expected this to happen.

I knew it wouldn't be easy to meet Alpha Vladimir. He wanted it to be hard for me to agree to what he wanted.

As the heiress of Evans Group, I was once loved and envied. I wasn't going to give up easily.

I walked towards the club's backdoor and overheard some women talking about an important guest in the Peony Room. They said it was the president of Blairgowrie Group, who had recently divorced. They wanted to make money from the guest.

I went into a bathroom stall and tied my hair up. I looked at my tired face in the mirror and came up with an idea.

Inside the VIP Room, guests were relaxed, talking, drinking, and playing cards with beautiful women.

One guest, Alpha Ling, asked Alpha Vladimir about the lady who wanted to see him. Alpha Vladimir looked upset and didn't answer directly.

Others nearby felt anxious about Alpha Ling's curiosity. They knew Alpha Vladimir was dangerous when he looked like that.
