Chapter 3 Payback Time

Damian was in his office working on some paperwork when he received a call from his personal assistant.

"Send him in " he said and out the phone and not too long the door pushed open , an advanced man walked in smiling .

"Uncle Lucas " Damian called with a smile .

"My boy you look dashing " Mr Lucas said smiling , they exchanged handshakes and then Mr Lucas sat down .

Mr Lucas Freeman is the younger brother to Damian's late father , Mr Lucas became his legal guardian after the death of Damian's parents. Damian took over the company at the age of 17 a year after the death of his parents and ever since then he has lifted the company up high .

Mr Lucas is uncharged from the company's branches in Yokohama Japan .

" When did you fly back into the country?" Damian asked .

"Last night , but I didn't want to disturb you so I decided to surprise you . " Mr Lucas said and they both laughed.

" Anyways, I am here because of the engagement with Caroline, " Mr Lucas said and Damian shrugged .

"Caroline is currently at NewYork City , she's on a video shoot . Once she is done we will talk about the wedding arrangements " Damian said and his uncle chuckled with a nod .

" C'mon Damian the shot was 2 months ago , Caroline is back and you don't even know . I thought you guys were in a relationship for 2 years..."

"3 years and don't blame me, I am busy and she didn't even bother to call, " Damian said, trying to defend himself.

"Are you sure she didn't try to call or you were just avoiding her " Mr Lucas said giving her a weird funny look , Damian rolled his eyes .

"Okay fine you caught me , C'mon uncle you know Caroline she's just too I don't know how to say but she's really taking this marriage thing too much so I asked her to give me some space to clear my head after our last fight " Damian said and Mr Lucas sigh .

" Look Damian you have to work things out with her , love a gradual slow process. You will eventually fall for her just give your heart time " Mr Lucas said calmly and Damian nodded with an eye roll .

"Whatever you say uncle "

"Okay I will be on my way now , I have other business to attend to " Mr Lucas rose up and so did Damian .

"Okay uncle see you around " Damian said and Mr Lucas smiled and walked out .

" Damn it " Damian sighs and picks up his phone and he scrolls through his contact list and taps Caroline's number . He hesitates before unblocking her number and he dialled her number and after several seconds of ringing she picked the call .

"Hey Caroline "he said

"Wow you decided to call "she said sarcastically.

" Be ready at 7:00pm I will come pick you up , we are going in a date " he said

"Is this your way of apologising anyways I will be ready "she hung up and Damian hissed and put down his phone .

" She's annoying as fuck "he mumble to himself.

Jenny and Mr Roswell won't stop teasing Laura of her failed attempt to get a job , Mrs Roswell and Ricardo are absent. Ricardo is a medical doctor and he's the one managing his father's hospital which means Laura is the only jobless person in the family .

Laura laid on her bed with her phone in her hand as she ventured around her Instagram page , she frowned when she saw Damian Freeman photos and videos about him .

"He's handsome but very rude "she mumbled while staring at his photo , she stood up and rushed to her PC . She did random research about the young billionaire, his love life and his net worth .

" Hahah he's freaking rich , am going to break him and bring him down to his knees "she said mischievously, Laura pick up a masking tape and she gum it on the PC front camera then she log into a dark web which turn her screen dark and only binary numbers were displaced in the PC screen .

"Now let's get into business "she said and started working , it took her hours to hack into the company mainframe.

"Hahaha this is going to be fun , so much fun "she laughed wickedly. This isn't the first time she's hacking into places like this , she works as an anonymous hacker who runs dirty shit for clients and gets paid . That's how she makes her own cool dirty cash , hacking into the company accounts is as good as impossible. She had to go on break for several minutes while trying to clear her head .

Evergreen restaurant is a beautiful classy restaurant and their food is really expensive so only rich folks come here .

Damian sat in front of a beautiful black red hair lady who is richly dressed in a silver armless gown .

" So why do you wanna see me? " Caroline said, taking a sip from her cup of champagne.

" Well it's been a while and I miss my wife to be "he said smiling .

" I know your uncle told you to come here , look Damian am trying to make this relationship work . "She said , Damian sucked his bottom lips and sighed .

"Fine, I'm sorry ,I know I'm always at fault."he said and stood up from his seat .

"What are you doing "she asked quizzically. Damian slowly knelt with one knee and deep his hand into his coat pocket and brought out a ring box .

" You have tolerated my attitude and my wrong , you were there when I needed a shoulder to lean on . Caroline Smith will make me a happy man and be my wife "he said and opened the ring box .

"Oh my god oh my god , am I dreaming " she gasps in shock and confusion.

"Yes ..yes I will marry you "she squealed and he wore the ring on her finger , he got up and kissed her lips . The audience around them were clapping while some were videoing the scene .

In less than 10 minutes the news of Damian and Caroline engagement was flying from every social Media handle and news station. Photos of them and videos were released online , content makers were asking questions about this new development.

After the date Damian and Caroline went home together, unlike Damian Caroline is so happy that she had made 6 different videos of her and Damian kissing and also showcasing her million dollar diamond ring .

As soon as they walked into the mansion Caroline noticed there's no signs of maids or guards .

"Where is everyone"she ask

"I fired everyone but don't worry new guards and maids will be hired tomorrow "he said , she turned to him.

"That's great , so babe are you up for tonight "she said licking her lips seductively as she drew close to him , she held his necktie and pulled him close to herself.

" I so much miss you Damian , my body misses you and I want you "she whispers and kisses his lips and he reciprocates by giving her a web kiss . The kiss was getting intense when Damian's phone rang and he stopped kissing and stepped back .

" Let me take this "he said and picked the call and he walked a few metres away from her .

"What's it Mr Godfrey am in the middle of something " Damian snap , Godfrey is the HOD for the company finances and everyone else aspect of money control .

" Sir there's a big problem" Mr Godfrey voice quivers .

"What's it "

" 15000000000 was pulled out of the company account " Mr Godfrey said and Damian scoffed .

" 15 billion is this a joke or something " Damian ask

"N-no sir it's not , you can check the company private account "Mr Godfrey said and Damian hung up and quickly logged into the company account, sweat appeared all over his face the moment he saw the company account balance . He quickly dialled Mr Godfrey's number .

"What's the meaning of this, what's going on, how did this even happen? " he tried to keep his voice down .

"Sir we got hacked and .."

" Am on my way no one should leave " he said and hung up .

"What's it baby , you look..."

" Caroline, I'm sorry but I have something urgent to attend to. Bye bye "he said hastily, rushing out even before she could say a word .

" Like seriously, he can't just leave me hanging "she stumped her feet on the floor angrily .

Meanwhile the company tech engineers were working their asses off to retrieve the stolen money and then Damian rushed in . He speedily grabs Mr Godfrey by the collar and slams him on the wall .

" What the hell is going on , how the hell did this happen "he yelled furiously.

"S-sir it's not my fault I-i "

"Shut the hell up old man "

"Sir please calm down violence won't solve anything , we have to put our heads together and sort this out " one of the tech engineers said and Damian let go of Mr Godfrey who huffed in relief and adjusted his glasses and coat .

" No one is leaving this room until we get back my money "Damian yell

" Godfrey came with me " Damian said and walked out and Mr Godfrey followed behind him , they both walked into another secluded room and Damian turned to him .

" How much does the company project account have? " he asks , Mr Godfrey swallows hard and adjusts his glasses .

"S-sir t-the project account is empty "

"What how , when "Damian asked and now it was time for him to panic .

" Sir the com6is currently handling 13 projects and 5 of the projects are government base projects while others are private projects . The money was used in funding the projects and our profits were sent into the company savings account which just got hacked . Sir right now the company is on a red line and without funds we won't be able to complete the projects and that means we might be dragged to court " Mr Godfrey said and Damian swallowed hard , he felt sudden heat and he took off his coat and unbuttoned his shirt .

" You may go "Damian said and Mr Godfrey bowed and walked away while Damian stood still trying to think on what to do next ..4 hours passed and the tech guys weren't able to help so Damian contacted 2 hackers from outside to help but all to no avail .

Meanwhile Laura is busy laughing as she watches the video tape of how confused Damian looks and how hard the tech engineers are working to retrieve the money , she hacked into the company building so she has full control over the building CCTV cameras .

"Hehehe why don't I spice things up a little bit "she said and dial Damian's number using her encryption spare phone .

"Hello Mr Damian "

"And who the fuck is this " Damian ask

"This jerk is still rude " Laura thought with an eye roll
