Chapter 5 Regret

Alex got out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. His hair was wet and coily giving him that cute boyish look. His broad muscular chest down to his ripped torso was exposed with few drops of water running down his chest down to his abs. It made him look so sexy. Laura couldn't help but drool at the wonderful work of art. 'how can a heartless man be this handsome?' she thought to herself. Their eyes met as he approached her, she quickly took her eyes off him fidgeting in her seat. He got closer to her and bent towards her, his face very close to hers.

Her heartbeat increased all of a sudden, and then he placed his right hand on hers and took the hair dryer from her then he moved back. Laura was finally able to breathe when Alex moved back. 'this guy is such a devil! Why would he do that to me?' she thought to herself. She looked at him again and saw how his muscles flex while drying his hair. His biceps, six packs... 'oh goodness' she shook the thought off her head and quickly stood up and ran towards the closet. She picked a t-shirt and a pant from his closet and wore them. The t-shirt looked like a sack on her. Alex was too big compared to her small, tiny frame. She packed her hair into a ponytail and went to sit down on the bed. She saw he had finished drying his hair and watched him as he walked into the closet and picked some clothes. He brought out the clothes into the room and when he saw Laura, he stood still staring at her with a smile playing at the corner of his lips. He stared at her for long that it made Laura feel so uncomfortable. She felt so small under his gaze. At that moment, he looked like a wolf, and her, his prey. She shifted uneasily at the side of the bed where she was sitting and cleared her throat. This seemed to have brought Alex out of his trance as he finally moved, still smiling.

"My clothes look good on you" he said to her. He proceeded towards the side of the bed where she was sitting and dropped his clothes near her. His eyes still on her, he suddenly removed the towel around his waist and his d*CK bounced hard and big. Laura screamed and quickly turned her eyes away from him. She lied on the bed and covered her face with a pillow. Alex looked at her amused and smiling. 'such an innocent girl' he said to himself and laughed out loud at Laura's reaction at what he just did.

"Are you crazy? You could have told me to excuse you, you know?" Laura screamed into the pillow she was shielding her face with.

"Well, this is my house and I do what I like" Alex replied and laughed.

"Just let me know when you're done, you devil!!!" Laura said angrily. Alex suddenly held her neck tightly with her head still pressed against the pillow and shook her.

"The next time you call me a devil, I'll kill you" He said to her sounding very angry. Laura was scared to the bones. She thought he was going to kill her and she quickly nodded her head, agreeing to never calling him a devil again. He released her afterwards when he saw her nodding her head and then he went back to dressing up. When he was done, he told her he was done. He noticed the fear on her face and felt very guilty. He blamed himself for being too harsh on her. He should have controlled his wolf and not let him scare their mate. His wolf was an ancient wolf, the strongest wolf to ever be in existence. Alex was his fifty seventh thousand human. He is a very furious and brutal wolf that hates to be disrespected. He can't be controlled by his human most of the times and that's why all other werewolves fear him so much. He loved his mate though and he respected her so much, and that was why he couldn't hurt her but only had to warn her. He looked at her again and felt sorry for her but he couldn't say sorry because his ego wouldn't let him. He was the strongest alpha with the strongest pack. He never said sorry to anyone and he wouldn't start now. Laura on the other hand quietly moved towards the edge of the bed farthest away from him. She was still looking at him with wide eyes. She gently sat down without moving an inch to avoid pissing him off again. Alex slowly moved closer to her and she froze. He gently touched her arm and told her to calm down.

"I'm not going to hurt you. I was just a little pissed off. Relax." He said softly looking at her. Laura nodded her head and quietly stood up from the bed.

"Excuse me" she said lowly and quickly ran into the bathroom breathing hard. She cried so hard until she was satisfied. She washed her face and went back into the room after few minutes with red and swollen eyes. Alex was very heartbroken when she saw her sad. He didn't know what to do to console her. He wasn't used to women. As a matter of fact, he had never been with any woman until he met his mate. All he knew about was taking care of his pack, his business and fighting wars when necessary. He had zero knowledge about women. Even Leo, his wolf had never loved any of his previous mates like his first mate. Lily was Leo's first mate and she was Leo's first love. According to history, Leo loved her so much he didn't joke with her until his mate was brutally killed and Lily had refused to be with any other human asides Dora, her first and only human ever since her death. Dora's sudden death had made lily crawl back into her shell. She had refused the moon goddess gifting her another human and that had saddened Leo a lot. It had also contributed to Leo's cold and ruthless attitude towards everyone including his humans and his mates. He killed without thinking twice. History even had it that a number of his mates had brutally died by his hands, but it seemed different with Laura. Alex had been surprised at how he had been able to control Leo when it came to Laura, or so he thought.
