Chapter 8 8

He rationalised, pushing off his anxious thoughts.

"It doesn't matter and I'll be thankful if you don't look into my private life..."

She remarked casually, "No one should talk to the alpha in this manner." He clinched his fists in his lap.

"Fine! Find a ride, or call someone who can... Help is available if you want it."

Getting out of his seat, he made the statement. Because of his height and bulk, his shadow was casting a long shadow over her.

"No thank you, I will manage..."

He said she was the most courteous and rude person he'd ever spoken to. She made a feeble attempt at standing but ultimately failed.

Xavion saw her leg and smirked, knowing what was coming. Her inability to use her leg is due to a specific cause.

She has no concept with whom she is dealing, poor thing.

"I have a plan to keep you around here, mate."

"Your belongings are waiting for you on the nightstand, but I'm not sure if you can get in touch with anyone. It looks like your phone is busted."

She scowled after he told her the news.

"did you went through my stuff..."

Her question was a warning signal.

Xavion smiled and nodded his approval.

"of course... i had to make sure that i am not bringing some disaster home but guess i was late to do that."

A shift in her facial expressions caught his eye.

"i didn't find anything... your bag is almost empty."

she sighed in relief, thinking he hadn't discovered the hidden compartment, and he exclaimed.

Xavion took his beta, Ace, outside to meet him.

"Eira is her name. What you need to accomplish is obvious."

He spoke in his usual commanding manner.

"Yes Alpha..."

After answering, Ace departed.

While all was going on, Eira was attempting to repair her shattered phone.

She certainly wasn't going to risk breaking the agreement by approaching Xavion for assistance.

Disclosure of personal information was limited. Very few people outside of the inner circle knew about the work being done.

She must now wait until her legs have healed.

A large book with a leather cover with mediaeval decorations was Xavion's reading material as he sat in his study on his royal chair. His beta, Ace, was standing before him, looking worried and perplexed about the Alpha's sudden interest in their clan's history and the human girl. In reality, he has never rescued a human life before. Even though he is sure that Xavion knows everything, he appears to be looking for something in the ancient book.

Ace has done extensive research on the girl and was there to brief him on his findings. Ace was blown away by her and had no idea she was his mate. He dismissed his uncertainty, convincing himself that since she is human, such a thing could never occur.

"Alpha, the girl is an experienced killer for the R agency. She was adopted at age three by the agency's head honcho, Renzo, and after a year of rigorous training she emerged as one of the agency's top fighters. She can also speak multiple languages and is a strong martial artist. So far, we haven't been able to identify the biological parents... I promise to update you shortly..."

To show his approval, Xavion hummed.

"Is there any kind of mental or sexual harassment happening in the agency which might cause mental trauma or something like that..."

He looked up from his book and inquired.

"We have no Alpha... We investigated the agency and can say with confidence that the females who use it are in no danger. It's all about training, but also about teaching pupils to master their feelings. They will have been programmed to behave in this way from an early age; this might potentially be traumatic for the human psyche."

Ace reported, anticipating his response or next instruction.

Xavion pondered for a little moment.
