Chapter 7 7

She grabbed a glass from his hand, and as their fingers made contact with each other, sparks exploded throughout her entire body. The sensation lasted for only a few seconds, but it was so powerful, like a current, that she came dangerously close to breaking the glass. She had never before in her entire life experienced something as intense as this, and she did not enjoy it in the least. It was a little bit satisfactory with a concealed happiness in it, but she had never had that feeling before, and she wasn't a big admirer of discovering new feelings.

"Xavion... Xavion Anderson..."

He responded while carefully observing her movements as she slowly placed the glass tip on her lips and then took a large drink of the liquid.

"How are you feeling now?..."

He put his arms on the armchair next to the bed and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. The chair seems dwarfed in his presence.

"Why did you bring me here?"I told you not to do drugs, and you did it anyhow."

She put the glass back on the dresser and asked, completely ignoring his query.

"It's because of the drugs you're taking. I couldn't just leave you bleeding out amid the corpses. Miss____, it's proper etiquette to introduce oneself first."

Eira gazed at him, unsure whether she should reveal her identity. He's had enough, but she didn't want to be impolite any longer.

"Eira... and I don't have surname..."

"Eira..."

Again, as her name flowed off his tongue, she felt the sensation spread through her body; she had no idea what was causing it. It's not like he's the first person to ever refer to her by that moniker.

She only had time to sense the change for a moment.

"Mr. Xavion..."

His name had never before sounded so sweet when she said it in her gentle tone.

"Thank you for saving me But I must leave now..."

He detested her blank gaze as she informed him.

Your mate shouldn't have to settle for less than unconditional love from you. The fact that she hadn't even acknowledged their mate link was the thing that upset him the most.

"Is it worth risking your life for... You've been badly hurt."
