Chapter 9 Honesty

The sunlight disturbed the brunette's sleep. She blinked her eyes and tried to normalize her thoughts.

Then, she also realized that a man she knew was sitting and looking at her.

"William?"

"What's wrong?" she asked again.

However, William did not answer her. He just looked at her with a meaningful gaze.

"Where I am?"

Anna realized that this was not William's wooden house. She sat up and looked around. "William, what's wrong with you?" This time, Anna held William's arm between the man's thighs.

They both looked at each other with Anna's arm holding William's palm. Then, a few seconds later, Anna's body was pulled by William into his arms.

"Sorry, Anna... I've put you in danger."

William's words made Anna even more confused. She couldn't remember at all, what exactly had just happened.

However, when Anna felt William's warm embrace, she suddenly remembered what happened last night.

She relaxed her embrace with William and looked at him with a confused look.

"Please explain to me. And be honest with me. I don't want to be an ignorant fool," Anna pleaded.

Although, she was a little scared. Yes, Anna was scared, her bad feeling was right.

The brunette girl just remembered the conversation between William and the pale-faced man last night. Where they discussed the treaty between the vampire clan and the wolf pack.

William shook his head. He was also afraid that, if he was honest with Anna, she would fear him and return to her world.

He did not want to lose Anna. He wanted her by his side.

"Why, William? You have to be honest with me! I don't know what kind of person you are!" said the brunette girl with a look of fear and restrained emotion.

"If you keep hiding this, I'd better go home!" she continued.

Damn! Hearing that, William immediately rounded his eyelids. And even scarier, William's eyes turned yellow. Where now, Ares had possessed William's body.

This frightened Anna. Anna shook her head, William was like a beast that would devour her!

"William, don't!"

"Ares, don't do that! I don't want to scare Anna!" said William who was talking to Ares silently.

"Alpha, you must mark her immediately, before she leaves here!" replied Ares.

"I'll make sure Anna doesn't leave. She will stay here. She's meant to be with me! Don't worry!" William tried to calm Ares down so that Ares' actions would not scare his partner.

This was not the way to make Anna melt to him. William didn't want Anna to fear him even more. Just remembering what happened last night already scared Anna.

"Alright, you have to handle it immediately! And don't lose her!"

After saying that, Ares no longer controlled William's body. And William was back to his normal self.

His eyes looked at Anna who was already shivering in fear while covering her face with both palms.

It made William's heart even sadder. "Anna...," he called in a low voice.

A few seconds later, the brunette girl began to open her eyes with tears already rolling down her cheeks.

"William, why did you do that to me?" her cry broke out instantly. Anna felt she was on the verge of death.

"Where's Chris? I want to see him! I want to be taken home by him!"

William immediately shook his head, he would never allow it.

"I will take care of you, Anna. I won't scare you anymore. I'm sorry."

"Where's Chris? I just need Chris!" However, Anna didn't believe William's words anymore. Instead, she screamed at the top of her lungs.

Of course, William could not tell Anna where Chris had gone. This was because Beta was away fighting against the vampire clan.

Honestly, things were not going well at the moment. The wolf pack and the vampire clan were fighting in the border region.

At first, William wanted to join the war. However, Beta forbade him. If William left, then who would look after Anna?

William regretted letting Anna go to the meeting last night. He knew that the scent of vampires was strong, but he ignored it.

"Anna, are you hungry?"

Instead of answering Anna's question, he changed the subject.

The brunette girl didn't answer him, thinking Anna wasn't crying anymore, but she was wrong. Instead, Anna cried even harder.

"Anna, I will explain to you about everything that happened. But, please don't ever leave me." William had to make a deal with Anna first. Before he told his mate the truth.

There was no answer. Anna was still crying.

"Anna? Please," he pleaded again.

"What are you hiding, William? Why are you so worried that I will leave you?" the brunette girl replied in a voice hoarse with tears.

The handsome Alpha took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

Was he prepared for Anna's reaction?

"You are in the wolf world."

Hearing William's words, made the brunette girl chuckle. However, William could tell that Anna was scared from behind her laughter.

"Don't be so careless!"

Anna was still trying to deny William's words.

But, when she saw the look on William's face, it made Anna uneasy. The look on William's face did not show that he was joking.

"William, are you serious?" Anna asked again to make sure.

"If I'm in the wolf world, then the wolf I saw yesterday, is it part of the wolf?" she asked again.

"You and the people I saw yesterday, are they also lost like me?"

Anna continued to ask questions. She hoped that this time William's answers would match her expectations.

"Me and the people here, we are all part of the werewolves too."

Instantly, Anna's face turned deathly pale.

So, she had been in the wolf neighborhood for the past few days? Why hadn't Anna realized it?

Also, yesterday she kissed a werewolf. Who was none other than William?

Anna shook her head with mixed feelings. She was afraid, she was afraid William would devour her.

No wonder, William always forbade her to go. Is it because William doesn't want his prey to escape from his cage?

"William, you're not hungry, are you?"

"You're not going to eat me, are you?"

William brought his eyebrows together. He didn't understand what Anna was saying.

"Is your purpose in keeping me here, because you want to eat human flesh?"
